This is shocking news for the Bitcoin banned by Instagram. From its platform, the conversation about Bitcoin and Bitcoin was hidden by Instagram. Until now, Instagram has not given an official statement about this, but there are several users who have started to be affected. Why do you think it is? Is it because Libra and Diem that the project failed or was it ordered by SC or the revenge of the Winklevos brothers who are rich from Bitcoin. Instagram is clearly a platform that does not support freedom of speech and only displays content according to the algorithm they want. What do you think guys ?

That they shadow ban comments with Bitcoin in it isn't an outright ban. I can say for a fact that an outright ban would be issued officially by the team but until then I consider it not banned. Bitcoin on the other hand, has seen loads of rejections and ban over its short lifespan but has been able to overcome it. Nations, systems, societies, individuals and all have left negative comments about it and have returned back to swallow their words and most of them are now the ones pushing for the massive adoption of Bitcoin. I don't get moved anymore when I hear people banning Bitcoin, I just see another believer.
Besides it is as if people forget but all of those social media websites are private companies and their owners can do whatever they want with them, if they want to ban bitcoin then that is their decision, is it the right decision? Who knows but I doubt many people actually care, as even if there are a few users of Instagram on the forum I doubt they use it to promote bitcoin or to show off their wealth to others, meaning this move by Instagram means absolutely nothing for us.

Recently I got the news of Bitcoin ban in Instagram . Instagram did this
for combating misinformation . Well I don't care much because most of posts there are just a scam to earn money. So I think there's no need of posting our bitcoin tips or topics there .

Good news, does this also apply to Facebook? I just wanna be free from crypto ads that hurt my eyes.
Honestly, I'd rather all undedicated social media platforms ban bitcoin and crypto, especially selling related advertising space. I consider it a free facility for scammers to connect with crowds of potential victims. So far I have no shortage of bitcoin information resources that are more credible than those platforms.

If Instagram ban bitcoin, it is no big deal as Instagram is not an exchange but only a photo shop. It wouldn't affect the price of bitcoin but rather it will safe people from being scammed through that channel. I guess that many people because of the high scam rate in Instagram has stopped using Instagram, I am an example. Let Instagram be for celebrities and people who loves to showcase their wealth and flamboyant lifestyle. Bitcoin has already gained ground and it is still spreading, bitcoin aficionados should use other channels like twitter.

it's all just interest. facebook has a libra project which is a competitor to bitcoin and of course they don't want bitcoin to be more popular than libra on their own platform. but this won't interfere with the adoption of bitcoin because instagram is just an image sharing platform and has nothing directly to do with bitcoin, so yeah i don't care if they block bitcoin or not.
I almost forgot about this Libra project from years ago not Until I read this post of yours.

But do Mark Zuckerberg really believe he can compete and go above bitcoin ? what is the progress of their project now if I may ask?  have no interest in digging their project lol.

and also about this Banning ? like others said , what would be the big effect of a Picture sending Apps to bitcoin when we all need is a proper conversation and delivering to attract people and not just by Photo.
also we knew that there are lot of scam happening in  instagram so better this way to protect the interest of bitcoin user and name.

1.Why don't you post a link to the news source?
2.The news you are talking about are from October 7. At least that's what I found from searching on Google News.
Are you surprised that the social media platforms owned by Zuckerberg (Facebook and Instagram) are censoring whatever they want?
That's why I don't use FB and IG for more than 10 years. I wonder if all the altcoins/shitcoins/tokens are also banned from FB and IG.
I don't consider this to be "shocking news". Google banning crypto ads years ago was also considered "shocking news", but it didn't affect the crypto world in a negative way.

I think there is a missing piece in this whole Instagram account banning, what are the chances that such accounts could have been promoting or scamming other insta users and this received overwhelming reports that got these accounts banned or they maybe they got banned for using fake followers or bots Huh And considering this hasn't affected their more popular platform Facebook means these are just some isolated cases imo Roll Eyes

Just for arguments sake did these guys ban any prompt crypto related account ??

Do these guys really think they can compete with Bitcoin, this has to be the joke of the decade  Grin
If they want that seat at the top they better compete fairly and not have a rigged race !!

In my opinion, Instagram is not very popular among crypto users. Instagram is still under one roof on Meta. Instagram's focus is on social media which is full of endorsements, a place for the world of advertising and flexing. Bitcoin doesn't need that. Do you know why cars like Ferrari and Lamborghini never appear in TV advertisements? Because they know TV viewers will not be able to buy such classy, quality, luxurious and expensive cars. You know the conclusion, right?

Only Bitcoin, but still allows shit coins. They did a right thing and great job to block a best cryptocurrency while allows many scam coins on their media platform.
It could be that they could not keep up with the number of new altcoins that pops up every bullrun so they try to chop the "head" first.

I hope IG also starts banning all accounts of "gurus" and "experts" coming out of hibernation from the crypto winter only to start selling subscriptions to newbies for some trade signals again.

As far as I know, Bitcoin is banned because of scammers who use it to scam investors. And then the banning of cryptocurrencies on Instagram started when ICOs' projects were trending. So we can't blame the Instagram platform either.

They just removed the clutter that Instagram thinks is polluting their social media platform. The only thing that is not really good is that Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies that have been in this industry for a long time are being misused.

It doesn't really matter if Instagram bans Bitcoin because Instagram is a platform used by people who want to share photos and videos.
Instead of Instagram, many users choose to use Twitter (X) to search for information about developments in the crypto world which are relatively fast and sharp even though the platform that belongs to Elon cannot be fully trusted either.

The most active discussion about Bitcoin and crypto here.
Thousands of discussion posts were born on the bitcointalk forum based on ninjastic.space data.
Instagram is not a platform that fully supports freedom of expression.
People who express opinions there can be punished if their opinions are not accepted by certain parties.

If Instagram has not issued an official statement, the information about the Bitcoin ban cannot be trusted.

Doesn't matter if Instagram ban bitcoins or not, it will have no effect on bitcoin. Yes the platform that will ban the bitcoin will lose its user base and popularity but it is not harmful for bitcoin in any way.

Don't know if this news is authentic, but even if it is authentic, it will impact the Instagram and they will have to revert thier decision at some point later seeing the popularity of bitcoins.

It is these platforms that need to adopt Bitcoin, as bitcoin doesn't need these platforms to be popular.

I have mixed opinions

Actually I agree with some users that there is no need of discusion of bitcoin on a shitty Sotial network like instagram.
But remember that bitcoin needs mass adoption and reach more people in roder to get less volatility, also there is no such thing as bad publicity.
So as a bitcoiners we need that bitcoins become more popular outside of our circle.

You are right, actually social media is the best place to promote business or anything, including crypto or Bitcoin. Because social media can help Bitcoin adoption, and also social media is the best place or nest for fraudsters to carry out their actions and their targets are beginners.
And actually I don't know much about Instagram because I've never been interested in creating an Instagram account. And what is clear is that the positives and negatives depend on the intelligence of each individual so that they don't get trapped easily and don't easily trust anyone before doing detailed research.
Because fraud on social media will never disappear, it will always exist and will continue to exist forever.

I have never used Instagram but if they banned it I think it has more to do with constant scams rather than some government regulation which forced them to ban it.

Most likely there were people posing in Porsches and saying that you can make this much money also, just invest in some bitcoin or Ethereum scam.

Or they got those scams where if you send 1 BTC you will get back 2 BTC which are very common on twitter.

I don't use Instagram and I am not aware of their ban against Bitcoin and conversation about Bitcoin. Reading your post, I would like to find announcement from Instagram but I got this Binance feed.

Instagram Bans Bitcoin Posts : New Controversy Unfolds

It happened two weeks ago.
Instagram suspend accounts for posting about Bitcoin.

Only Bitcoin, but still allows shit coins. They did a right thing and great job to block a best cryptocurrency while allows many scam coins on their media platform.
Its not first time with several social media announced banned bitcoin transaction, other social media social such as Twitter and have Youtube media platform ever banned with cryptocurrency advertising but there are not significant effect and make bitcoin drop. I don't face serious with Instagram banned bitcoin and cryptocurrency because there are not any drastically valuable of bitcoin or cryptocurrency. Regarding when China and some top country against with Bitcoin but there are not any important thing will make bitcoin drop why have serious respond with Instagram banned bitcoin?

There are have several place for advertising of bitcoin and I don't think if Intsgram, Facebook or another platform of social media banned bitcoin will be huge problem in the future.

Ehh whatever. It doesn't really make much sense to have Bitcoin discussion on Instagram — an image photo sharing platform. If I were to guess most of the Bitcoin-related posts there are scams anyway.

Doesn’t surprise me, instagram was bought out by Mark Cuckerberg. We all know about the history he has with the Winklevoss brothers. Maybe Cuckerberg just hates bitcoin.

I have not read any official statement of Meta concerning this censorship but some reports claim that they are doing that to protect their customers from scams.  The insinuation that this clampdown is because of the failure of Libra and Diem the proposed stablecoin payment system by Meta can't be ascertained because there is no evidence to prove that point. All social media platforms are owned by individuals which means that they can be controlled based on the interest of the owners. Although Instagram is filled with many worthless projects it is also a good medium to promote bitcoin, however, Meta can not stop the spread of bitcoin.
