Instagram is a paradise for photos to show their wealth, happiness and yes, scams.

True Bitcoin users care about privacy and anonymity so Instagram will not be their favorite platform to discuss about Bitcoin. Who need Instagram to show a face and expose their identity to the crowd?

Twitter is better than Instagram or Facebook for cryptocurrency communities but I know scammers are abundant on Twitter too.

For technical discussions, developments and helps, they can get it on Bitcointalk.

True. But what are they going to post on Instagram about wealth+bitcoin anyway? A picture of their hardware wallet? A screenshot of their wallet app balance? It doesn't make much sense. The only photo I could think of that someone might post are photos in a Bitcoin conference/meetup, and that's pretty much it.

I wouldn't read too much into it either. On the one hand they have banned everything that refers to Bitcoin and "crypto", putting it in the same bag and we already know that everything that refers to crypto ends up being scams or pump and dump schemes. On the other hand, those of us who have Bitcoin don't want people to know about it either, and even less so on a site like Instagram.

Although I suppose that over time when Bitcoin is even more standardized they will have to reverse the decision.

Ehh whatever. It doesn't really make much sense to have Bitcoin discussion on Instagram — an image photo sharing platform. If I were to guess most of the Bitcoin-related posts there are scams anyway.

Instagram is part of Meta and I have not seen Facebook or Instagram have banned advertisements related to Bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies. There are certain criteria and requirements that need to be met before anyone can run an advertisement about Bitcoin. Please go ahead and read this topic to get the right information, About Meta's advertising policy on cryptocurrency products and services.

Unless there is an official statement from Meta, please do not blindly believe what influencers are saying. In 2018 they had placed a temporary ban on advertisements related to Bitcoin later they removed it. Do remember that content removal on Instagram does depend on community reporting, It is applicable to Facebook and YouTube too.

I don't use Instagram and I am not aware of their ban against Bitcoin and conversation about Bitcoin. Reading your post, I would like to find announcement from Instagram but I got this Binance feed.

Instagram Bans Bitcoin Posts : New Controversy Unfolds

It happened two weeks ago.
Instagram suspend accounts for posting about Bitcoin.

Only Bitcoin, but still allows shit coins. They did a right thing and great job to block a best cryptocurrency while allows many scam coins on their media platform.

This is shocking news for the Bitcoin banned by Instagram. From its platform, the conversation about Bitcoin and Bitcoin was hidden by Instagram. Until now, Instagram has not given an official statement about this, but there are several users who have started to be affected. Why do you think it is? Is it because Libra and Diem that the project failed or was it ordered by SC or the revenge of the Winklevos brothers who are rich from Bitcoin. Instagram is clearly a platform that does not support freedom of speech and only displays content according to the algorithm they want. What do you think guys ?
