Just want to say thanks for the riser cables; my order was shipped out same day as purchased and I'm very pleased with both the cables and your service. I'll be returning for future purchases. Thanks again!

Good thing I have a boatload of those dummy plugs from the GPU mining days. Funny how I'm going back to GPUs.

Yeah but the thing is it's not the board that's the problem for the most part. From the way I understood things it has to do with the design of the PCIe extender. Well, actually it could be that some cheaper or lower quality boards do not support the swapping functionality or whatever the case may be and thus there is no problem. What's worrying is that a lot of the quality boards one would reasonably consider for a mining rig do have this problem with these 1x to 16x extenders.

But without some uber geek on the thread to shine the light I guess I'd have to buy and find out.

To add to this, this problem tends to be bundled with more than 1 video cards also not being recognized by the system once its plugged in with a riser, but will be recognized when a monitor is attached to them. When this is a guaranteed result, it is always the board that tends to be handicapped and wants a dummy plug from what I've found over the years. Not really related, but just sharing information.

So my question is, has anyone had any issues with the 1x to 16x extenders on their motherboard. Have you had to try any funky tricks like shorting pins on the extenders themselves to get the card to be recognized (once again when using JUST the 1x to 16x).

This is a really broad question since all boards are different and everyone will have a different result. Most likely won't know until you get everything and see if your board is finicky with it or not.

I'm thinking of purchasing a few extenders from you. However first I'd like to put on a slightly technical question out there. I read on a different thread that some motherboards require shorting of the pins on these extenders when using the 1x to 16x kind, otherwise the mobo will not detect the card. From the gist of the thread it seems this is due to the design of the extenders themselves - something to do with a pin that should not be there due to it messing the hotswap capability of PCIe.

Hi guys,

Due to the amount of traffic we're updating the memory allocation with our VPS. Sorry for any trouble, should be back up and running shortly.

Placed an order for a riser. Order processed fast. Thanks. (Went to place the original order, and if bitpay had waited 5 more seconds, I would have had my riser for $9.99, but it screwed me out of $2.50 Tongue )

Do you guys do custom cable lengths? I could use one about 2-3 inches longer than the ones I bought previously

Just wanted to say I've bought some powered riser cables from you before and they are awesome.

P.S. (The pop rocks were a nice surprise!)

ok got a technical question here. So just started playing with the 16x to 16x pci-e extenders I rcvd from CryptoCables and went from 770/khs to a 70 khs on my 7970? I went into cgminer and am showing the voltage at a much lower then what it was now being around .8 V and engine/mem clock is around a 100/500 default and will not let me change any of those settings? Noob when it comes to working with extenders so am I missing something here?

Thanks for the help!

*edit* all working now and not sure what I did differently. Just unplugged everything and replugged and now working like a dream!

I just bought two from you yesterday at 8.99. Just curious what is the normal price going to be because I may need more

Normal pricing is usually around $12 but we are highly reconsidering lowering it as we feel it's a bit too high at that price.
