Ok so it shows up in blockexplorer (http://blockexplorer.com/address/1GDGhnQFFzCQ2CvtKr4pDRW4J5Wo3yk9Xp)
How long until I see it in my account?
Thanks for the help spruce!

Is the block count in your wallet up to date? Mine shows 136606.

Nope my counts on 136455 and growing. So this must be because the client wasn't run for a while then? It still needs to check all of the blocks that have been created?

Same time as other transactions. Is it in block explorer?

How do I check? Still nothing gone through...

Put your own bitcoin receiving address that you used at the end of the URL instead and look at that page.

Hey all,

when withdrawing bitcoins from your britcoin account, how long should it take after it says "finished" to show up?
I withdrew 0.5 coins 90minutes ago and still no sign of them... I thought it would be instant after being verified?
Thanks for the help!

Would be great if we could put a reference when withdrawing. That way we can pay off things like credit card bills directly.

In the INSTALL file of the intersango sources, it says:
Code:
ln -s /path/to/this/dir/www www
but it should say
Code:
ln -s /path/to/this/dir/htdocs www

Why has BritCoin been taken off the BitCoin Charts?

It was there about 2 hours ago when I last looked.  It was scaling horribly, due to britcoin still making trades well outside of the best bid and ask prices.

I was talking to the bitcoincharts guy a few weeks ago about adding an option to bitcoincharts to allow the user to set the scale, because otherwise the $5000 trade on britcoin makes the chart useless.

He wrote:

I'll try to fix that. In the meantime, you could also bug britcoin to
fix their order processing so such insane trades won't happen again Smiley

I emailed britcoin a patch to fix the 'insane trades', but it seems it hasn't been applied, because the weird trades are still happening.

The patch is here, in a merge request:  https://gitorious.org/intersango/intersango/merge_requests/3

Anyone else noticed that the britcoin prices on bitcoincharts have been jammed all day?

I prefer to go to the front page of Britcoin and type in a figure like £10 or £100 or £1000 — no need to log in first. The volume of trading there is relatively small, and you might find £100 covers open trades from £9.20 per BTC to £9.85 per BTC. If you didn't look closer, you might get that idea that you could immediately get £100 worth of bitcoins at the £9.20 rate and it wouldn't be true.

Why does it now say Intersango on the britcoin site? i thought only the EU site was called that?

And possibly stupid question... but if i deposit BTC into my britcoin account, how does it know the BTC was deposited from me? Because the account doesn't know my bitcoin address..

The deposit address is unique to you.

OK, that sounds reasonable (leaving them in as an option).

please don't remove support for openid!  if myopenid.com is down then it's really easy to set up an open id at a different provider, and open id is so much more flexible/secure than having a logon with a separate password, risk of password database compromise, and no support for two factor authentication (which I use with Verisign PIP).
I agree, it would be a shame to see it go. Perhaps you could leave it as an alternative option for more technical users?

That would probably save you the hassle of migrating all the existing accounts as well.
