Post 5! Saw a previous post about buying btc at $10. I had the same problem. I had to join Dwalla, prove my identity, which I didn't like doing, then join MtGox.com who also wants proof of identity. I drew the line at sending a photo of my drivers license to an unknown to me, so I had to go through Dwalla which is at least a bank, then use bitInstant to send money and only trade in small quantities. I guess that's all I can afford anyway, but "Just how Safe is Mt. Gox?" There is way too much identity theft going on for me to want to send too much personal info anywhere!

Hello All,
I've been watching bitcoins since the price was around $10.00 after the first crash. In fact, that's when I bought my first btc. Have a few more since then. (mums the word) Anyway, I'm primarily a computer  programmer by trade. I say primarily because I'm also president of a nationally accredited school. Programming is my first love which I still practice. I still support an accounting application that I have sold nationally.

I have 4 Jalapenos ordered from BFL which looks like might come in about June sometime. I don't know why I didn't get the next level up but was thinking I was getting equalivent horse power. (My math must have been off that day!) Anyway, this way, if one goes bad, I'll still have 3 more. (That is, if BFL delivers, which seems pretty iffy from what I've read here.). I know the difficulty will be going up and up but if the price keeps going up and up, it should equal out somewhat. I have seen estimates that they could go to a Million Dollars per bitcoin. I know that's pretty far fetched, but when they were .01 cents, who would have thought? $80.00 already!!!

Hi everyone. I'm new here, but I've been watching bitcoins since they where about $10/coin. I wanted to buy a few back then but I couldn't figure out an easy way to do it so I just kept putting it off. Cry Well I finally bought my first few coins a few days ago at around $70-$80 each, but I still think that's a pretty good price considering how fast it's been rising lately.

Also I believe Bitcoin is just such an amazing new idea/technology, and eventually I'd like to build some kind of ecommerce site or app based on it!

Working on burnsides litecoin mining pool.

Have done some study on bitcoin and litecoin and have basic understanding of them.  Have downloaded both qt clients, they look identical except for embedded pickaxe icon in litecoin.  Don't care or need to think about the mining difference/encryption/exchanges or whatever yet.  I need help from burnside (cannot send private messages or post anywhere but here Smiley  or other moderator.  Cannot get pool mining to work getting errors for log/pw and have confirmed all this.  Really would be glad to give out a phone number to him or a mod and talk this through or use skype even.

Also have questions on gpu mining, that seems to be the way to speed things up and do more work.  Since cpu hashes are 1300-1900 per second, my understanding is mining will most likely have no effect.  I have a fairly good video card, nvidia GeForce GTX 560Ti but no clue how to get that power tapped here.  Hoping to have Intel Core i7 960 cpu going tandem as well.   I am not a programmer and feel like some of this requires a greater understanding of my rig than I currently have.

So that's it.  Looking forward to learning about this, dialing in gpu mining, would like to have a real life chat with someone about this, and looking forward to being part of a pool and seeing what can happen.
