Hello all,

I signed up cause I thought I could help out another poster but cant because of newbie rule.

Found out about BTC 6 months ago on a "how to disappear" site (didnt work, still here) and have been fascinated ever since.
Doing research and Getting ready to start buying parts to put together a miner or two.
I gots server space, and always looking/thinking up new ways to fill it.

Learned many interesting things here already.

.....And that's one post down.

An electrical engineer in regional Victoria, Australia. Planning to build a 10kW solar panel system to support a bitcoin rig habit. Predominaetly a Win 7 person only because I haven't used Linux (Redhat & Fedora) for nearly 10 years.

By the way, anyone know when / if the GUIMiner poclbm fix is going to be pushed out or do we need a reinstall?

Use Diablominer or cgminer for now. I have not seen the update yet Gui/PY

It has been 3 days since the error was identified and a solution determined (see GitHub) yet no Windows based solution has been pushed out. Are we trying to kill Bitcoin or help it to grow? *sacrasm intended*

Hello,

My name is Christy.  I was scammed by shades minoco, I lost over $300 cuz he lied and said he has a system.  I went to his house to try and figure it out.  He does not even own a computer!  The one he had, he was building for someone.  Don't you need a computer to do mining? I;m a girl, but I'm not stupid.  Can anyone help me locate this fool?

So let me try to understand your message:

  • You got scammed by shades minoco.
  • You went to his house to try and figure it out.
  • You need help locating this fool?

It sounds like you have already found them.

Hey everyone,

I've been mining and lurking around here for a while, and figured it's time to create an account and be part of the community. Been mining on bitlc.net for ~10 months now, and wanted to be able to contribute to the discussion of what reward system they might be switching to.

Hi there!

I'm a Canadian living in Shanghai, China and working as an English teacher Grin

I'm excited about Bitcoin becoming a global currency, and potentially leading to creation of a world government.

Hope to meet other Bitcoin users in China here!

New here, but hope to get my name out there.  I go by WhiteWine (WW) and I've developed a pill that's from ALL natural and LEGAL supplements (list to come with sales thread) to help you relax and sleep.  Hope to start sending out samples in the next week or two. Smiley

Joshwaa...I don't really have a farm set up yet I have a three gaming pc's that will be running part time here soon...I have resources and capital I just am not tech savvy I build gaming pc's for fun but other than that I'm really limited on what I can and can't do when it comes to computers...I don't want to waste any resources until I figure out the best and most cost effective way to start mining...A lot of the security issues are way over my head as well a hacker could kill me and take my stuff fairly easy I'm pretty sure and I wouldn't even know what was going on until after it was gone so i've been spending some time trying to read all the information available so that I won't do anything foolish without really understanding... do you have recommendations on a trusted e-wallet for bitcoin because once i get that i am interested in investing...and do you have any suggestions on how to set up the farm...I would like to spend as little as possible so I was thinking about getting a workbench set up with like 10 am3 mobo's then 10 sempron processors and the only thing I really want to spend money on is the PSU's so i'm using as little energy as possible and graphics cards was thinking i'm gonna go with 5850's have you heard of set ups like i'm describing doing pretty well from the graphics card guides i figured running 10 of these pc's all on box fan cooling(I also live in the high desert so its cold and dry coolign shouldn't be any issues especially with running only one GPU per system to start) I thought I would be getting a little over 5 MH/s??? any suggestions or ideas are appreciated like i said i am not going to pretend to know what i'm doing I can build a bad a$$ gaming pc built this mining thing is a whole different ballgame!  I am also curious about those FPGA boards but I don't really understand anything about them and I have asking questions that I can look up the answers to myself but I just havne't gotten around to looking into what these boards are and what they do because I am busy busy busy!

I started the same way throwing AMD cards in my rigs that I used for gaming.  I currently have 8 Machines running 23 AMD GPUS Most of them HD5770. (Cause they were cheap) I however am one of the lucky ones I do not pay for power where I am at it is included so I do not worry about MH/Watt so I can not give you the best advice there. (all my cards are overclocked and drawing tons of power)  But I will tell you the HD7970's are outstanding mine draw 142 Amps to 155amps at 1144MHz GPU Clock 700MHash/s each. Thats just crazy! Can't wait till the HD7990's come out. As for FPGA's I have no experience. Also all mine are in cases with about 8-10 fans per case. Keep my AC set to 70F and they all run cool. Let me know if you need more help.
