Will it function with the upcoming OS Mavericks?
To be honest we're not 100% sure, we don't have access to the Mac Developer Program yet. We're building the app on the latest Xcode now (5.0) but against the 10.8 SDK. We'll test it on Mavericks as soon as we can.
Looks nice I'll be keeping a close eye on this thread.

One feature I would like is QR codes for the addresses like what you get with blockchain's wallet. It makes it easier to transfer money from a mobile device based wallet.
In the meantime I'm going to play around with a the app API this weekend!

We are pleased to announce our v1 app API, now available to developers!
Hive apps are made with HTML, CSS and JavaScript. They're basically just websites with JavaScript code, running in an embedded browser inside the Hive window. You can use most features you'd expect from a standard modern web browser.
