This is a difficult question and depends on the general state of the market. Investing in ICOs can bring you much more profit than investment in bitcoin in the case when the market grows. But such investments can kill your capital in at the bearish trend.
I am a newcomer to the crypto market.
Should I invest in ICO projects or would I buy bitcoin to hold and wait for the price? Please give me advice.

Current market situation will make me go for investing in ICO over BTC. But then it is better to invest in crowdsale - state ICOS than a market - ICO. Also, ICOs purchased during a crowdsale bear the potential of seeing up to a tenfold return on investment. A wise investment strategy, especially for the new investor, would be to invest in a number of ICOS' crowdsales. Should I invest in ICO projects or would I buy bitcoin to hold and wait for the price? I usually invest in ICO, but now I would buy bitcoin. It seems to me that investing in the most important coin is less risky now. I'm not ready to take risks.
Aside from investing in bitcoin which is a potential and stable coin and holding because of its god profit potential, you can also invest in ico but you need to take your time and be very careful to do a deep research about the project before you invest in it because there are so many scam icos in the crypto community.
Now it is more profitable to buy bitcoin, because investments in ICO bring a lot of losses in the falling market. I think that it is possible to invest in ICO only when the market goes up.
You can actually do both because it is a very good idea if you are into multiple investment or what they call as diverse portfolio. ICO is good because when you invest during the presale or during the main sale, you can avail its bonuses. Volume is essential in investment because the greater the volume you get, the higher the chance of earning big profit when the token value spikes.

If you want to get a bigger profits and strong enough to take the risk then invest in ICO as this is a good way to get bigger profits with lesser capital. Investing in ICO is little riskier as there are so many projects which are scam and that investing in such kind of projects will only result in loss of money. If you think you have found the right ICO project, only then you should go for it. Otherwise, it is better to play safe game and that go for investing your money into ETH as it can then help you in having more earning at the end of the day.
More people decide to buy bitcoin which is the main cryptocurrency rather than ico token that have not sure popularity. Ico has so much risk for our healthy investment. Ico only for people who ready to put their money in high risk and want to take that risk for making big chance to get money.

Bitcoin is expensive but if you hold it longer, you are guaranteed a big profit but of course you also need to learn some trading techniques and strategies, similar to other potential altcoin on altcoin that is above 10. You are new so I think you need to learn and have a lot of research before you invest in icos. You need to know if they are legitimate and not fraudulent
A lot of people would suggest you to invest in ICO but because you can get a good profit from it at the end of the day but it is so risky to put your money on the line in an ICO. Most ICO today are not that worth it to invest but you can still find a good one if you do know how to research. While investing in BTC is a lot more tougher than it looks because of the volatility of it that is so unpredictable.
it depends a lot on your targets. I would prefer to buy bitcoin on some scenarios, and on the other hand ,investing on ICOs is much more profitable if you decide to invest on a good and profitable coin
invest in ICO is always dangerous, and so many bad news about cryptocurrencies are from ICOs, most of ICO are scams bringing bad reputations for cryptocurrencies, so i suggest you should stay away from ICO investing but investing BTC instead, BTC is a great investment for both short term and long term in the future.

It seems to me that the situation is changing now and not in favor of Bitcoin. Since the price of Bitcoin has fallen dramatically and is practically beginning to lose interest among investors, it is better to direct most of its investments to the company's ico.

if you are newcomer here why do you want ico investment? do you already know about basic ico investment basics and risks to be accepted if you choose ico wrong? my suggestion is better you buy bitcoin then hold for long time
Yes, the newbie can make a lot of mistakes, and choose the scam ICO. Bitcoin investments are less risky. You can also buy good alts like Ethereum, and NEO.
In the last 6 months it was always better to buy BTC.

My bet or choice is to buy bitcoin compared to invest in ICO projects there are lots of ICO's now that are scams and some you will not know how sure that can it be successful or not.
yes lots of ico"s are known to be scam but not all of them , infact if ever you got lucky to choose a good ico , you can always earn much more than what you already earn on bitcoin investments. we can also divide our funds, let say 30/70 . 70 percent goes to bitcoin and the rest 30 percent can go to ico. the reason why i allocate more on btc because btc is pretty legit , while ico do have a big risk but the profits that we can get thru it is always doubled as when compared to our btc earnings.
Yes, I know that there are ICO's are been successful and I've joined ICO's that succeed and I've joined also which are not. I got your point and respect it as well but for me if we want to invest in ICO we should know how to read the white paper ,the road map and everything about it so we can avoid our selves to be scam.
