Of course not! I think investing only in bitcoin is stupid! Must play at least two currencies! By this you will protect yourself from total collapse!
Yes bitcoin is known as the king of all cryptocurrency but investing only in btc is not a good idea and you must look forward of the other crypto, like eth and any altcoin because if bitcoin fall, at least you have other coin for your investment, just make sure that your altcoin has a potential to grow.

If you plan for a long term investment, then Invest your money on Ethereum and Waves, both platform are used by many tokens and assets. It's getting popular now.
But you want to be a daily trader, I can't recommend it. You can explore the altcoins thread and analyze what coin is good for daily speculate.

It's good you diversity your investment, don't focus on one currency. This protects you from big losses. But it needs good monitoring from you. If you see a more profitable altcoin, why not?
I suggest you to split your investments in to 50% to Bitcoin and 25% to Ethereum and remaining 25% into Ripple or NEO. You shouldn't invest all your investment into one crypto, I'm a strong believer of Bitcoin but still investing wisely will make your money safe and profit will be earned either way splitting your investments.

Seeing the time OP posted this and if he really bought that time I must say that he gain a lot from the price that moment versus the price before the year ends and it's really a good decision. I think beginner should start their investment through buying bitcoin as we already have an idea how it moves and the fact it's the most stabilize platform. Nothing more and nothing less.
The sure thing to invest is BTC or Bitcoin but you can also invest in ETH. For the other altcoins it is also profitable nowadays so keep trading also and hold BTC and ETH for the future profit.

Bitcoin is really gaining before but it change gradually as market become more volatile. Considering the existence of many altcoins, many investors have looking into it that of having bitcoin alone. Investing only your money to bitcoin is very risky because what if the price decrease your money also decrease unless you have different altcoin to invest you can gain more profit . Because if the coin are cheap and once the price increase you will gain more profit than bitcoin. But it's up to you what is your prefer maybe bitcoin or altcoin. But I suggest to have bitcoin and altcoin.
No, don't focus on one cryptocoin. There are so many altcoins in the market, even though btc is the mother of all coins there are altcoins that have a potential to grow. Though it cannot surpass btc but in the long run it have a bigger profit.
investing all in bitcoin is safer in the crypto world but it can give you less gains in my opinion, btc is already very big and for have a 10x it has to get mainstream in my opinion, you should search for some hidden gems or some promising ico that can give you very good profits!
