Hype is dangerous and harmful for investors. A successful investment requires time and study of the project, a lot of people was left with a bunch of flies in their hands and money throwed in the bin

I completely agree with you. At the same time it is almost inevitable with the growing popularity of crypto currencies not to follow the opinion of mass media and popular web-sites. You need to always make your decision based on your beliefs and your intuition.

Lately I notice that ICO-ratings give high marks to almost everyone. For example, if you go to ICOBench, you will find about hundreds of projects with a rating of 4.0/5.0. But I'm not sure that at least 25% of them will show positive results. Ratings have long ago lost their relevance.

The reason why there are a lot of people today in the market who are losing a huge amount of profit is because of the investors who are not well knowledgeable about cryptocurrency and they just invest immediately because of the hype.

Yep, obviously you need to do a lot of your own research. Most of the big ICO rating websites are just in it for the money anyway.

Many of the bounty participants are concerned with high ICO allocations and prices rather than analyzing the benefits of the project and how strong the development team is.

It's getting ridiculous here. People are now investing just because of the hype or just from watching the scores given by Icobench, ICOratings etc.

You're doing it wrong. You should look at the team and the experience they have, whether this project exists already (e.g we have Monaco, TenX, Centra, MoxyOne and many others) and none of them actually delivered 100% what they promised etc. so unless you really see the potentials on the project, you really shouldn't invest. Ignore the moon bullshit they are trying to feed you.

This is valid for both bounty hunters (because they are wasting their time) and ICO participants (wasting money).

i think it is best not to rely on the ico rating only, but try to combine it with your own research.
always do your own diligence for the best result before investing on a project, of course for your own sake.

yes people now days only seek bigger profit in short time. Many of them are depend on scoring website to invest. I do believe investing in project that usefull and could be last long forever is the best investment choices. But its truly hard and there is too many ico that makes people depends on scoring website such as icobench.

Precisely..We should have to protect our own assets.. Our money/coin we have worked..
Nowadays, there's a lot of scam ICO.. We should have idea or read feedbacks about the company we have work with.. or else, our money will be lost.. And also we have to consider the budget target of the company

That said, but hardly anyone can do, often when the battle to invest in human beings we can not be more clever. And expect that we will succeed so we always put a lot of money into that coin.

Okay, I will not argue with your analogy. But the problem is there are too many coins and we have no time studying them one by one. Some sites offer filters through their ratings. And for most people this is a shortcut from the first step to selecting a project.

I agree with you. with the many of coins, it makes us confuse to choose the coin. but if we can analyze with quick, I think we don't have any problem but it really needs a knowledge and skills to do quick analyze. I think if we can divide the money for investing and for another thing, we can get something from our investment in the long-term. but still, we need to be careful when we decide to invest.

its better to have a full knowledge about cryptocurrency before involving into investment because some token doesn't have value in the currency yet. Be optimistic in making some moves in order for you to have a successful outcome for your goals in the digital currency.

It is very hard to find the right projects to invest in nowadays as so many are propping up. I have found one or two gems though and I am keeping most of my portfolio in those, especailly in this bear market which ate away most of my gains of 2017. I now had to start again with a very small investment portfolio of which 80% is parked in one token and it was the best move myself and my Wife made in 2017 after the crash of the markets in January. I wish only I had made this move in January or Feb then I would have not felt the dip at all.  Cry

Most participants unknow how to invest in crypto because they don't have the time to understand how the mechanics for each work. So I think everyone should be reminded making research before decide to invest.

Perhaps some ratings do not fully represent the value of a project. But you also have to understand some people do not really know where to start. So I think we need a competition like this to find all the best parts of this industrial development process.

It is not true that in looking for some bounty is a waste of time. You can see many good ICOs out their. Just be sure to check the ICOs first before you join like me at first I read their website what their project all about, after reading I read their bounty thread to see if I am applicable to their bounty then read their roadmap to see if the status of the project is sameas what is in their roadmap after reading it I also check their team if they have done some projects already to know if they have a good team. I also check the progress of their spreadsheet if it is updating. Maybe later when I look at the spreadsheet they I am surprised the bounty manager is not updating, Then all that I did will went to nothing.
