As compared to the Q1 of 2018, Q1 of 2019 saw a dramatic decrease in amount of investment done on ICOs. The amount collected by ICOs has been decreased by 58 times as compared to previous year.
https://cointelegraph.com/news/report-icos-raised-118-million-in-q1-2019-over-58-times-less-than-in-q1-2018/amp

Edit - It's not just 5100% but is 5800%
The current situation is guilty. The sharp price fall at the end of last year has led to the pause of most good projects. And worse ICOs began to be visible and the people started to stay away thinking that this was a problem of ICOs.

If you look at the majority of tokens from ICOs from 2018 and the prices they are traded for now, it's no wonder people don't invest in ICOs that much anymore.
I want to understand what kind of people constantly sell their coins lower than the prices of the ICO itself. it's very stupid

Probably people who think they can outplay the market and 'sell now to buy-back at an even lower price'. This mindset is the main reason why people sell for a loss.

I think it was before the launch of all major IEOs this year. ICOs were slowly dying and we needed a good solution and I believe we have finally found a great alternative to make people invest a lot of money into ICOs again.

This is because the ICO ceased to bring profit to investors. Now the exchange came up with an innovation and you can again make good money. Just confused by the fact that it is very difficult to invest when a large crowd of applicants.

%5800 decrease isn't possible but lets pass that point.

It is expected actually. Nearly all the projects bleed in exchanges so people are not buying anything on ico phase.

The rates stated in the report may be considered as the rates that did not cause us much surprise. In particular, since January 2018, less investment was made to ICO projects. We can see that these investments, which are decreasing with each passing day, are actually falling day by day and many projects cannot collect money. Even though the rate of 5800% is very high, I think that this rate will increase more and in a few months, ICO projects will disappear completely from our lives. Of course, if a possible bull race begins, the ICO craze will begin again.

yes indeed the ICO has recently lost many investors. because the new ICO is a scammer, especially the emergence of the IEO which is much discussed in the future and is predicted to replace the ICO later.

Its obvious because of the huge down fall on the crypto currency prices so more people will prefer holding their coins rather than investing on new projects it is just doubling the current risk of their investment for the same profit level.

Once again a topic created by someone who has zero math skills whatsoever. Like many people here said something can only decease 100% not 5800%, lets look at the real results and how bright the ICO future is. If you check icobench you will be capable of seeing that last year during the peak months the highest we have went is 1.1 billion in a month, it has gone down as far as 300 million dollars before and this month it looks as if it was dropping to under 300 million dollars as well.

Moreover, if we look at how many successful ones are out there the number was 186 and now its 78, so its not that much of a difference in funded projects as the price, the difference is people are just funding the ones that they like and not everything they find. Which is why I think ICO world has a bright future.

That’s a massive loss and I can assume that the investment is already back to 1 sat and delisted in several exchange platforms

I’m not sure there is anything you can do as to that effect
Which mostly affects this venue of business opportunities, lots of people losses their trust and doesn't like to lose more of their money, finding other ways or learned how to trade directly, ico's no longer appealing to most investors and traders that's why the percentage of losing money is more higher than the chance to gained.

This is the result of stupid scam projects. It is they who very much kill the reputation because it is the reputation of the processes that is today really very important. Therefore, I think that all that matters.

things like ICO have always had an expiration date so they were inevitably heading towards their doom. and what we are seeing today in the form of decreased investment in them is the result of that. in other words this death didn't happen today, it started about two years ago when they initially were born and everyone was blind because they could make some profit  from them.

Compared to 2017, ICO from 2018-19 is too far when it comes to legitimacy and success. Knowing this drastic drop on ICO security, many investors tend to lay off on investing in ICO and do trading in the market than gamble on tokens which is not yet listed in exchanges.
I agree, as an investor I have doubts when it comes to investing in ICO not just because we are in bearish trend right now but because majority of ICOs are just scam or failing to reach even their soft cap. I just had a bad experience investing in ICOs thus I dont want to risk again in similar project.

Instead of investing in project that has no accuracy if it will succeed its better to be a trader and invest in coins that has potential and hodl.

Yeah, I think the main cause of this problem is many ICOs are unsuccessful and even SCAM.
So that many investors no longer believe in investing in the ICO.

Yeah, I feel it myself. I think it's better now that I buy and invest Bitcoin than I invest in ICO.

Well, at the end of April exhibition. I think everyone who participates there will receive investments. Also, we will see whether investors will again be able to believe in the market. It seems that I looked on the site there 90% of the places have already been sold. So there will be many projects. May attract new investors.

It is not uncommon for early 2018 to be affected by the rapid increase of 2017. ICO projects were created for many purposes, I have seen many projects achieve softcap and it died soon after. And more importantly, investors as well as users have more experience while investing but ICO projects to avoid weak projects. The value of BTC, ETH ... and KYC requests when participating in ICO can also be the cause of this ...

I think when a new generation of projects enters the market of investors will be more. I mean STO  projects. If such projects will be profitable. We will see the market soar.
