I remember David said IoTA would list on Exchange on September, but now it's the end of November.

Have you even been around since Sept? Your account looks very sockpuppetish.

We have started a bounty work for Chinese translation of IOTA tutorials and blog writings at here and wechat group. If you have some new writing about IOTA, please let me know.

Right now we have put 20Gi from George, Linxu Du and me. Typical translation of one tutorial or blog post is 1Gi.

add 20GIOTA!! Wink

Thank you very much. We are also working on a Chinese website.

This is great work - I really think having Chinese content ready to go is important. I will DM you on Slack.

It seems there are plenty of people willing to step up and we have some definitions of what the role might be.

The question now is does the community want to fund this?

So far only schnib has pledged.

when GUI wallet?

There is no ETA for the GUI wallet as there is afaik still a dev missing for it. Besides, nostalgia and a headless node are really working well, and the setup is easier than you think. That's why the GUI has no priority at the moment (as e.g. A sandbox is more important). Maybe the tutorials at www.iotasupport.com help you with a headless node

All updates iota team post in slack or medium.
Community manager is the one who copy-paste updates from slack to forum  Huh

I think there is more to it than just copy pasting things from Slack to the Forum. Imo Scott made very good Point on what a Community Manager should look like.

-Have a direct Channel to the foundation to ask questions and to receive updates
-produce a weekly update for the community
-be active in the IOTA thread here, providing updates and answering questions
-be active on all social networks
-be a bridge between the foundation and the community

Let me add a few things here:

-provide feedback for the foundation on what the community feels/needs/wants
-provide a weekly update on what work the foundation members did the past week
-actively prevent harassment/fighting between members and the community and the foundation. This will make these threads look better.

As I already pointed out I think that especially the last point is vital. We need to stop fighting in official threads, as this will have a very negative impact on the project, the community and the communication in general (This doesn't mean that you cannot have a different opinion. By that I mean that there is a lot of lack of respect and understanding between both parties here. This is why a community manager is needed: To be the bridge between the foundation and the community, as there are a lot of misunderstandings right now).

So far some ideas for the role are to:

  • have a direct channel to the Foundation to ask questions and receive updates
  • produce a weekly update for the IOTA community
  • be active in IOTA threads here, providing updates and asnwering questions
  • be active on Reddit, Twitter, Facebook, Steemit etc. disseminating information
  • generally be a bridge between the Foundation and the community

The above will help to better promote IOTA to new and existing community members and also the wider crypto world.

The core team are so busy working on the important tasks that having someone in this role should help increase communication - they have said they will actively work with whoever takes this on.

Whether, Iota has been distributed to the public, I seemed to see Iota would be great for this project, see the price per Iota very expensive for holders and developers and Iota are so good for the future .. Smiley

Scott J and I, Lukas Fiedler,  are possibly interested in filling this position as we feel it would fit well with our current work on iotasupport.com. If you don't know what Iotasupport is: It's a website designed to host tutorials and information on the IOTA network and has proven to be very useful in the last month.

If this is something that the community wanted to fund and the Foundation agreed they could work with us, then we would like to agree on general expectations before hand. Both of us can invest more than 5h per week on the job.

That would be ideal, I really like iotasupport.com and would be natural that you guys update/communicate with the community, etc.. I think it's important to have someone here to handle questions, concerns, etc.. rather than David having to write up long responses to questions already answered. Also, I'm not a whale anymore, I sold 2/3's my Iota to organizations that I thought would help adoption

Who are these organizations and why are they not transparent about 'helping IOTA' then?

Two of them are major exchanges, one is a large tech consulting company, one is a device company, I'd rather not list their names since they haven't given permission to do so, but you probably know who they are. Anyway, this is a perfect example why we need an community manager. We are trying to be constructive and all you do is interject with some stupid bullshit negative comment (as usual).

The hypocrisy is killing me. A few days back you were whining about us not being transparent enough about 'Big Deal' and calling it 'bullshit' and now when I pose the exact same kind of question, without any negative bullshit, it is "stupid bullshit negative comment". My brain cannot process that people such as yourself is being made rich of our work so I will proceed to ignore you.

Lol, you are so dramatic, I didn't collect Iota from the community, I'm privately trading, big difference. Anyway, you are right, I've made a lot from Iota, so I appreciate that.  Kiss  Though it's a bummer for the community that Iota wasn't on exchanges prior to this BTC pump we're about to witness.

Ok. Guys. @iotatoken, no need to point that out again, it only makes things worse here, @zanzibar, try to understand him, he made his point several times and I can understand that this annoys him. What I basically wanted to say: Stop fight. Save your energy for developing and making this community great again. We won't achieve any goal by having this discussion here AGAIN.

Instead: Guys, IOTA is such a great thing no matter what. Of course people have different opinions, even weird ones. But this is not the place to fight/discuss over this. There is no need for this. Everybody loses his breath for nothing. End this fight now and here and lets start a conversation full of the spirit of IOTA. And who knows. Maybe some new people will join and see how great this community is.

Peace,
