Maybe they haven't started an official division, but who would we contact in these companies?

I found a few (see above) by checking linkedin. as I anticipated David had been in touch with (at least some of) them already.

We should confer on the best strategy to approach these big-league guys and create the best first impression we can. This should probably happen on Ryver or on the new forum.iotatoken.com forums (awesome btw) under supervision of David.

On a side-note: I am constantly surprised by how the mainstream tech punditry (bloggers etc) view Bitcoin almost as a scam but the Blockchain as invaluable genius*. It is partly for this reason that EThereum is going crazy balls-out parabolic, and will probably continue to do so.

As a result it may be advantageous for IOTA marketing purposes to promote the "oracle to Ethereum" angle made possible by IOTA's lightweight, no TX fee, DAG/Tangle design. If SC's are brought into IOTA at a later stage I hope they will be inter-operable with ETH SC's (smart contracts)

so what does "iota is welcomed to the ecosystem" mean exactly?

Microsoft has started hosting a new set of services on Azure known as BaaS (blockchain as a service). Several cryptos have been added to this "ecosystem", including Factom and Ethereum. It allows companies and individuals to run their own instances of these cryptos on private chains for internal company testing/usage. Set-up is a simple as renting a VPS.

IOTA is the latest addition.

There is growing interest in BaaS and many tech pundits are genuinely excited by Microsoft's  play. I occasionally listen to a podcast called Windows Weekly and I tweeted Mary Jo Foley (a host) about the MS BaaS initiative. Perhaps coincidentally she mentioned it on a recent podcast and Leo Laporte woke up from his haze after BaaS was mentioned. Listen here https://youtu.be/fP3tb_xMIHU?t=1h46m5s

Microsoft is an early-mover (for a Fortune 100 company). I do no think it will be long before AMAZON and GOOGLE make a move in the blockchain space. Ive heard there are many ETH nodes running in Mountainview, CA (home of Google). Since both Google and Amazon are looking into drones and IoT in general I believe IOTA would be of interest to both parties.

Ayybody have any connections to Amazon or Google?
We need to know who the equivalent of MS's Marley Gray is in those companies, and target them.

This is a VERY good post.

How do we find out this info?

For sure, I have already been in touch with several of the inevitable 'targets', so we should definitely discuss these things in the chat, so that we don't end up with people spamming these guys about IOTA. Are you in the Ryver?

It would actually be better if the community were able to compile a good list of specific people within each company for David to contact rather than just throwing out emails to companies from users here. I believe that companies would be more likely to respond if they heard directly from David or someone associated with Iota along with a solid introduction/pitch on Iota.  Obviously we are early stage, but the Azure partnership is a great selling point, and I think it will lead to more corporate partnerships.

The IOTA contact person in the email letter is David. This is just an introductory letter. If the companies want to know more, based on  the letter they are supposed to contact David. You point is good and I would like to participate if you can form a plan based on your idea. We need multiple channels to do the promotion and let IoT community know IOTA.

I have sent some message via email and tweeted for startup IOT Wink

@iotatoken: iota will remain open source, no matter what partnership you have? What are the terms of this partnership, what influence Microsoft has on the devlopment of Iota? Do this partnership has an impact on Jinn?

Im sure David will answer but allow me to just say this is not a partnership and MS has no influence whatsoever on the IOTA project. Similarly it has no influence on ETH, FCT or any of the other cryptos hosted on Azure's BaaS

Of course. There is no influence on IOTA's development, unless of course there is some sort of demand from the Azure users that impact how the community decides IOTA should evolve, but there is no legal impact whatsoever in terms of them having a say.

It's official IOTA will be partnering with Microsoft's Azure Blockchain as a Service project

This is part of the news that I have been alluding to in the last week, and more details will be made available soon. We are really excited and happy to join Microsoft in their endeavor to be on the forefront of distributed ledgers and cloud technology.

More exciting news on the horizon Wink

That is why we should push IOTA to the IoT related companies as hard as we can right now to build a ecosystem and be part of IoT ecosystem as well in real business world before other people start to copy and clone IOTA. All the IoT companies in the real world need is the back end software and API which we already have and they have the resources to develop applications and integrate IOTA.

We have prepared a list of IoT companies and a generic introductory letter for you to introduce IOTA to the some IoT companies. There are hundreds of IoT companies out there. If we can do 5 companies (random pick) per person we can reach out to hundreds of companies. Maybe your introcution will lead to a partnership between IOTA and a IoT company. Here is the list and the letter - http://forum.iotatoken.com/t/a-generic-iota-introductory-letter/56. All you need to do is to click a link to a company from the IoT directory and find out its contact email and copy/paste the introductory letter in your email and hit send.

I agree to some extent, but It's both. Having people send a generic, but well thought out mail to several companies does not hurt as a introduction to the tech itself. Companies receive such sort of 'tips' all the time.  However if you got a good proof of concept that you can pitch to a company that might have use for it (which relies on IOTA in some manner) then you pitching it to them and then introducing them to IOTA is even better. I will be able to take over from there. I'm already in touch with a lot of companies, but the sell is a lot easier once there are several different Proof of Concepts running, one thing is painting a mental image of what IOTA enables, but being able to show them actual video/code/whatever is so much more convincing.
