Hi all.
Which wallet do you guys use and which one is stable to use where the IOTA coins wont disappear from it?
I read a lost about peopled having issues with the wallets for IOTA.
Thanks!

There is currently only one IOTA wallet which is usable and it is provided by IOTA dev team https://github.com/iotaledger/wallet/releases
The most complaints and issues users reported where related to a snapshot and a kind of hard fork last Autumn. They were literally not related to the wallet itself. Nevertheless, the wallet along with IOTA itself is still in early beta stage (or even still in alpha). If you want to have a fully stable wallet, wait until Trinity wallet was released.

So we are sure with that IOTA wallet for now?

I really don't understand why IOTA jump and fall with Bitcoin so parallel...When Bitcoin rise, IOTA rise, when Bitcoin goes down, IOTA goes down. Can somebody explain this for me? These are two complete different projects and in my opinion, IOTA has tons of great news. But i don't see any special jump of IOTA in the last weeks, only when the whole crypto market jumps high.

Would love when we would see the potential of IOTA finally in its price Smiley

Hello all! I am new in crypto world and I make few moves...I bought IOTA on bitfinex. Is it safe to store it on that exchange longterm?

No, it generally isn't a good behaviour to store any crypto currency on an exchange. If the exchange got hacked or fails in any way your cryptos are gone. So move them to a local or paper wallet. Be your own bank  Wink

But for me as long time investor i dont wanna look monthly for News on devolopment. I just wanna give money and take more out in 2 years.

Then you're better of investing your money in some other project, where you don't have to check once a month for important updates to make money.

Some questions. I wanted to invest some more money into IOTA and just forget about it.
If I store them on a Wallet can I let it untouched for 2 years or need I to do something after the snapshots?

Which wallet is the most user friendly untill now?

For the wallet: https://github.com/iotaledger/wallet/releases
Trinity wallet will be much more user friendly, but it hasn't been released yet.

For that first question: You don't have to do anything after a snapshot. The first time you enter your wallet after a snapshot, your balance will show zero though. But you can just track your balance via the explorer and don't have to log into the wallet. It's no necessity to see your balance in your wallet for your IOTA to be safe in the Tangle.
Leaving your IOTA untouched for 2 years and not following the development AT ALL can be dangerous I think. Since IOTA is still under heavy development and nowhere near the final design, there might come a time, when you have to take action.

Maybe CfB can give some better answer Wink

In this case it isn't a really good idea to forget about it two years, in the past it was already necessary to update the wallet until a specific date. If you invest in IOTA you should follow this topic or check at least every month.
I just know the official wallet.

last character Seed 1 is E
last character Seed 2 is W

That's because they are different only in the last trit. This is how it's supposed to work, there must be the 3rd seed leading to the same wallet.

Sincerely I hope IOTA does well but the fact their light wallet doesn't even have a seed generator boggles me.

If that is your only concern, IOTA is good to go Roll Eyes

Hello guys and girls ! I'm pretty interested in IOTA and I just ran my full node, I'm looking for neighbors...
I already post in forum.helloiota.com and on reddit nodesharing section but I have no answer for the moment. I'd be happy to share my full node, please mp me if you're interested too.

In principle, a good service in my opinion. You can use it if there is no better alternative.

I got a few questions.

  • What is the current transaction speed for IOTA?
  • Is it possible to have large scale instant transactions on IOTA?
  • I read that the transaction time will decrease with more users, why is that and how many users do IOTA need to have instant transactions?
