Is this technology compatible with ring signatures in Monero?

No, Iota uses quantum-immune cryptography.

I find this technology interesting. However, from what i have read so far, the documentation always stated that the algorithms used in the IOTA network will be quantum resistant not immune. Care to elaborate? Are you suggesting that the network security is going to be 100% clear from any attack vectors that quantum computing could come up with? I am no expert on this, just trying to stay informed as much as possible. THanks.

Once IOTA are distributed, will I be able to transfer/hold them in my NXT wallet as an asset together with JINN?

No, IOTA is separate technology, but it can communicate to NXT (as well as the other blockchains) so there is symbiosis.

I have blogged today about the IOTA Crowdsale (Sorry German): https://altcoinspekulant.wordpress.com

I liked it. I got nothing but my inner voice read it with intonation of actors playing Hitler in WW2 movies.

If one buys these tokens, what can he do with them a) immediately b) near term c) hopefully in the future?

a) Transfer
b) Transfer
c) Transfer

Iota usage depends on what you mix it with, think of it as of alchemy. IoT-devices + Iota = Supercomputer. Cryptocurrency + Iota = Oracle. Websites + Iota = Library.

"Library"

Imagine the revolution when pornosites find out they can charge their users for every MB Download.

This is one of the intended use-cases for IOTA, yes, true real-time-payments. Today you have to pay upfront/after the fact, a fixed price, meaning you often overpay because you didn't use the service much. With IOTA you can literally pay per second of usage.

The only reason IOTA is more likely to do this than DOGE for example is because it can scale better? Or are there other reasons?

Yes that and no fees. Real-time-microtransactions make absolutely no sense when you have to pay fees, they'll eat up the entire microtransaction, rendering it futile.

Additionally IOTA is primarily meant for IoT which requires extremely lightweight hardware

Shouldn't token like this be very low and stable priced to be useful for waste amount of automated micro transactions ?
How volatile price fits in this scheme ?

We should ask AI that is the main user of this token. Unfortunatelly, AI support is in development yet and we can't ask it. For now we can only read books and watch movies about Terminator AI to get a hint.
