Good day everyone!

It has been a few weeks since we released the Public Beta, I hope many of you got to try it or at least watch J Milla's video demonstration so you can see it in action!

We thought we'd give you an update as to what our Dev's are turning their attention to now, well, they are working on creating the storage nodes.

What are Storage Nodes?

As you are aware the data will be stored on IPFS, the data is stored in many locations, a bit like Bitorrent. These are called Storage nodes, the devs are creating storage nodes that are tied into the Aegeus chain, that way people can pay\get paid for it.

The Aegeus storage node operates based on an incentive and a scoring system.  Storage nodes will be available for direct storage leasing, or the network as a whole can participate and share in a reward based on their reliability.

The user would pay for these services in Aegeus' native token - AEG.  Storage nodes would be paid in AEG as well.

The incentive to provide reliable data hosting is built-in and at a fraction of the cost of traditional solutions.

As the network grows and more nodes go live - redundancy increases exponentially.  This can provide a true 100% uptime guarantee on an unheard of level of certainty - whereas legacy providers can only offer this on a theoretical level with usually some compensation factored into an SLA if that uptime or should fall below a threshold in agreed terms.

First of all, we would like to thank our community for their patience, it has been a long journey and we have been excited to share it with you. It’s time to turn our attention to the future. The public release of 1.0.0 Beta 1 is finished and ready to go and we want you to test it!

Objectives of Beta 1

This particular system is designed to ensure that you, the user maintain your data privacy at all times. Nobody can ever access your data, not even governments, corporations or private individuals can do so with you granting them access yourself.

Once you add your data to the system, it becomes encrypted and stored on a distributed network. If and when it comes to a time you want to share your data with others, the data is encrypted again to ensure another layer of privacy. The applications of this tech can stretch as far as your imagination can and we are working on a multitude of applications which we will roll out in due course. We invite as many people as we can to test it and leave feedback, detailed if necessary in either our Discord page, Twitter page or by simply emailing us at [email protected].

In order to set up and view Beta 1, you’ll need to follow the instruction as per the following link https://github.com/AegeusCoin/aegeus-ui/tree/master/installers. We are currently securing businesses that are going to trial this release and they will be announced once negotiations have been finalised. This is a very exciting time for Aegeus. We’ve been around over 12 months already and we’ve put in volumes of work to bring us to this stage. This has not happened without setbacks, challenges and bad days but we stated from the beginning that we were in this for the long haul and not to achieve some false short-term fame.

We would like to ask that you share the word about this release to your contacts and invite them to set it up and test it. The more people that know about what we are doing the better the feedback we will get, and subsequently the sharper and more effective this data tech we become. We want to thank everybody that has helped us to date and in particular our developers who have not had a normal sleeping pattern in months, thank you gentlemen for your stellar work. Our close-knit team of managers and moderators also have been wonderful to deal with and have overcome many challenges alongside the developers. We owe a great deal to you all. Firstly, you should edit your masternode.conf file and delete the masternode line or comment it out( put a # in front of the line)

Then you need to make sure that your wallet is unlocked for staking and then in the bottom right-hand corner you should have a Green Arrow which represents that you are currently staking.

SO I have a MN with 5k collateral, I have more coins but not enough for a new MN, so I just leave the old Mn and will stake? or I need to move my coins to a new address for staking?

Now that we have surpassed the all important Block #383945, the new Masternode Collateral amount has been activated.

ALL masternodes that were running with 5000 Collateral will have stopped working.


IMPORTANT:  Firstly, please update your wallets to version 3.0 if you have not done so by following the guide in #wallet-guide


The easiest way to create a new masternode with the updated 50,000 collateral is by following the updated guide on the website found here:-

The bash command to run the script will not have changed and is also in that guide.
