Yes. And not only is it used for illegal activities but its pseudo-anonymous nature also encourages certain adopters to entertain a level of immorality which they would not otherwise promote under their real world identities. Those are facts....the question is: are those facts hurtful to the bitcoin economy and do they reflect the attitude of the community as a whole?
Yes it is used for some activities but we should not care about it because that its just life, some people are always use all kind of currencies to come out clean with their money.

The same as you all who love bitcoin. I hate to admit it but it is true. A lot of organization is making use of it for different kinds of bad things for their own profit. It is sad but we cant do much about it.
But there are some acts which are not illegal but are banned by the country for some reason so if the person is using bitcoin for that then it is not illegal like the transactions to some countries from some countries are banned but the bitcoin users are free to do any transaction to that country without any restriction. We cannot call it as illegal morally. 
I don't' think that we should focus on those people who are using it for illegal activities and even fiat is used for the same reason as no one can stop it as everyone is busy in earning their own money.
And it's not a really a questioned if bitcoin is used for illegal activities since bitcoin has worth.
The concern here is how those medias will give some shitty headline about that. That's why I trust people who will not easily believe in those media shits about bitcoin being used in illegal activities.
Every fiat currency or crypto currency was already and are still used to illegal activities, and yes, the media is a joke, they try to said "bitcoin is encouraging people to do ilegal activities" and this kind of media always will give bad reputation to bitcoin.
No. We've heard this thing a lot of times on the news channels but it's not true. It is used for illegal activities just like USD and EUR is being used. It's not such a big difference between the two, except the fact that people would obviously prefer doing these kinds of transactions through anonymous methods than through cash.
Actually bitcoins feature being untracable though is helping 90% of us while at the same time some people are using it as a illegal tool, they rob others and use bitcoins so neither they can be traced nor they can be reversed in any way, since its decentralized so no owner too. The interesting thing here must be, even centralized currencies also being used for same purposes

Yes, bitcoin is being used in different illegal activities like buying drugs and selling drugs. Last year there was a site called "Silk road" where they were selling different kinds of drugs and other illegal stuffs like guns and so on. Currencies are also being used in different illegal activities because there are no payment that can be made other than these, it's either cryptocurrencies or currencies, these two are the only options because in this world there are no such thing like "100% off". There might be a discount but just a little you are still going to pay though.

if more and more people will adopt bitcoin in the coming years, then the amount of people using bitcoin for illegal things will also increase. it's not that the number of people using bitcoin for whatever illegal things will decrease with more adoption. it doesn't make any sense.

Sure bitcoin is being used for illegal activities, as long as it is a currency. But I don't think it will ever be prohibited by governments. Yes every currency can be used for illegal activities. but fiat currency that will not have adverse impact if used as an illegal activity, because everyone is still using and need it. While bitcoin is only digital money with trust of its users, so that if used as an illegal activity, then having a bad impact. bitcoin can lose the confidence of investors.

It is a shame that is it is being used for these things, but it is the responsibility of the users to help stop this when we can. There is no government control over bitcoin and if we can police ourselves, then there would be no need to a government agency to step in and try to control it. It is difficult to stop at this time, but it is being done and not giving Bitcoin a good name.

yeah true what you say that this is not much different from what they are doing well with the fiat as USD or GBP, and so forth, this is a usual phenomenon and we will not be able to stop them for that, because basically everyone has the freedom to using money or their bitcoin
