All governments eventually will try to regulate the cryptocurrency. Sooner or later, it's only matter of time. Even Japan, I think, still favorably favor bitcoin only in order to revive the growth of its economy. As soon as fiscal deficits of the cryptocurrency exceed certain threshold, I think regulatory measures in Japan will become tougher.

Well the answer if Bitcoin is legal depends really on the country where the platform is being used. Different countries have different approaches when it comes to cryptocurrencies particularly Bitcoin. Some countries might have regulations for Bitcoin as currency, to some as security. But if you are questioning the legality of Bitcoin as a platform, I would definitely say that it is indeed legit in terms of its structure, usage and transaction. Never have I seen Bitcoin as a scam or something that is not going to make it in the investment platform. The mere fact, that many users or holders have put their faith on Bitcoin makes it even more valid.

If you really want to reduce things like money laundering, bribery, etc., you really should be far more concerned with making cash illegal. Unlike cash, Bitcoin leaves a digital trail. While many people believe Bitcoin is totally anonymous, it's not. Cash, if handled properly, can be anonymous thus it's a great form of value to use for criminal activities

Cash can and is also used for criminal activities though. So I don't really get why btc gets so much hate in that regard.

Sometimes I am confused why so many people talking that bitcoin is too prone to scams and other illegal activities. As if these governments and banks did really stop fiat illegalities.

It's not about law status in a country, but it depends on what are you doing with your bitcoins. If you're taking part in some criminal actions using bitcoin, even not consciously at all, you are gonna be punished.
I mean using Bitcoin, as using many things available in the Internet may be dangerous and make you breaking the law, so you should know what are you doing.

Laws on currency and its distribution were made decades ago. Laws were meant to control and limit counterfeit physical currency. Bitcoin is a
CryptoCurrency. A currency that isn’t physically tangible. I've done some research, and I haven’t come across a law that prohibits the usage of such currency probably because people hadn’t expected or forseen a currency as such. Some countries of late have banned bitcoin in light that it could lead to money laundering. However, a majority of laws don’t necessarily pertain to cryptocurrencies by its very definition and if you aren’t breaking the law, it isn’t illegal.
Generally, just few countries have prohibited the usage of it which to me they really do not matter since they are not the type of country you would bother yourself about (sorry if there is anyone from any of these countries), no offense. However, looking at it on the large scale, most countries do not have a problem with it and even though some have not declared where they stand, they are not against it either which makes it not illegal.

By means of easiness of the transfer, and privacy, it may be used in illegal stuff. However, the main purpose of it has never been for serving such purposes. It is legal, it should remain being legal and it comes a little bit hard to me, that it will be illegal.

If i know our country doesnt advertise about bitcoin. There is no movement from our government to ban this. So its safe to say that bitcoin in our country is legal. But still bitcoin is not accepted yet so its normal that we cant buy goods and services using bitcoin. I think it depends on what country you are, because they said that there are some countries who bans it. So at this moment i consider bitcoin legal.

There is still a lot of confusion in the field, probably because most governments have no idea what bitcoin is and what to do with it.
Probably will be in the future a common position from biggest countries, and the other will follow.

Yes,bitcoin is legal in our people even the government did not know about bitcoin or idea what is bitcoin and what is the world of cryotocurrency but for me or other people is bitcoin is legal because this is the new currency  and its very helpful on poor people and theres a big chance to end our poverty so that bitcoin is legal surely.
It all balls down on the government and as long as a particular government does not declare it illegal, then it is legal. So far, a lot of governments are already declaring bitcoin as a legal tender anyway and that should bring about some regulations and more awareness for bitcoin and for those thinking about the illegality of bitcoin to have more positive mindset towards investing in bitcoin.

Bitcoin is of interest to law enforcement agencies, tax authorities, and legal regulators, all of which are trying to understand how the cryptocurrency fits into existing frameworks. The legality of your bitcoin activities will depend on who you are, where you live, and what you are doing with it.
In my country there are still no laws regulating the sphere of crypto currencies, therefore, formally any operations with crypto currencies are allowed. The main thing is to pay taxes on the profits received, while this is the only thing that my state is worried about.  Smiley

bitcoin is mostly unregulated therefore in grey area but it depends on each country. Japan recognize crypto like money so it's fully legal there, US are preparing regulations on per state basis

I am very interesting to talk about this, because in my country the government tries to ban transactions using bitcoin because bitcoin is a currency not recognized by local governments and all try to block bitcoin to grow

In some countries, bitcoin is legal, some countries do not have any legal regulation for bitcoin while is some countries they do not have any restriction on dealing with bitcoin.
i believer in the near future many countries will start having legal regulation about bitcoin.

Yes it's legal here in our country because most of the banks here supported bitcoin and the good news is the one bank made a blockchain payment system
Where are you from if I may ask? Except for Australia, I guess, I have never heard of any other country with a bank that made a blockchain payment system. Although, in mostly all countries, bitcoin is really not illegal since most of the countries really has not even bothered monitoring the usage of it or even thinking of regulating at the moment and are either silent on it or trying to do some more research on benefitting from it which is what is happening in mine, but I am sure they would not want to slack in the long of it anyway.

Bitcoin legitimate do not see anything wrong with it, the state is allowed to regulate, it's a pity whether it is unlikely to get a full track of criminals. and
I hope all countries legalize it

There are a lot of discussions about this topic, but there isn't too much to say: it dependes very much from the country where you live in.
Btw, governments can only make big claim trying to scare the population, but there is no way to control the use of bitcoin.
Eventually, there can be some trouble when you try to exchange them in fiat currency, but until you use bitcoin online, may be with tot, there is little that government can do.
Yeah, everything is all centered on the government of each country. In so many places, there is a strict law on its usage, in some places, they are already regulated and in some places, there is really nothing much about it and everyone is free to go on with their daily activities regarding cryptocurrency as long as they understand the risk. It is understanding that some countries are still skeptical and most especially the communist or socialist setting, but it would all change anyway.
