Bitcoin is real money to me and in my opinion, it's something that can be exchanged for goods and for services online and offline, it also can be exchanged for a value of USD or any currency and used to buy anything generally.
Yeah if bitcoin is taking care of your basic needs then it is real, as I can make online purchases using bitcoins so it becomes real to me, no doubt there are no physical shops in my area that accepts bitcoin as a mode of payment.
