The base factor we are using is not the correct one. We are just checking the BTC vs USD exchange rate to analyze whether Bitcoin is volatile or not. But we always forget that USD itself is a volatile asset (although not volatile as much as the other fiat currencies). It may be better to use gold or some other stable asset as the base factor, if we need to compare the volatility.

I am a strong believer in HODL. I expected bitcoin volatility decreases as time goes by, I totally didn't expect such big price change in the past several days.

Is bitcoin volatility here to stay and not decrease?

I believe that the bitcoin price volatility will last forever,as long as bitcoin has a limited supply. This is what creates that volatility.Coins like ethreum can't have such price volatility, because they don't have limited supply.Crypto adoption is still in it's very beginning, but it might lower the price volatility a little bit.

Volatility is undoubtedly one of the best things the market has, it is not like the Stock Market, it is a more active market, which is coupled with any theory of trading to apply, investments can usually be made, and speculate as much as the If the speculator or investor wants, it is already a fact that for now the bullish trend stage is starting, volatility can occur but now what predominates is the bullish trend, it is very difficult to lower and return to levels below $ 3k.

From past decade we have seen that it is volatility that drives the prices of the btc up and down and which is the reason we have seen huge jump as well because it gives investor and short term traders a huge scope to make money out of this volatility and will stay as it is.

One thing I really don’t like about some people here is that they are fond of acting like hypocrites, lol. So you will see some people here claiming that they hate volatility, because it makes cryptocurrency a risky business… But these same people will be the ones to tell you that they wish that Bitcoin will pump and the market will grow to $1 trillion so that the market price rate for Bitcoin will move up to $50k or so and they will make profit. If you hate volatility then why do you wish for such? Or don’t you know that without volatility that’s never going to happen? The way I see it volatility is just here stay and it’s not going to change.

Volatility is one of the major feature of Bitcoin since its inception and maybe the time would come that the price of it stabilizes just like our foreign currency after the last Bitcoin is mine, and it's not in our lifetime anymore.

Being a limited digital currency makes Bitcoin too volatile and it feeds by our own local currencies every now and then, sometimes I wonder that its volatility would never end.
The problem is, many investors and traders are fear to buy bitcoin because of bubble thing. They don't make some factual research about bitcoin. As a matter of fact, bitcoin is an ideal investment for us since it can double its price or even quadruple. Bitcoin is a volatile coin and it is the unique feature of it because stocks are really stable.

We should be aware of the volatility of bitcoin because we might gain nor lose because of wrong entries in the market.

I trust trade more than the hodl
But, hodl is also called as trade tho? What do you mean by that. The only difference is just hodl takes longer to achieve your goals.

"Buy low and sell high" just do this thing and you won't regret it.
Yea, it's just a way. But, that's not easy as you said :^)  Many people have been failed while doing this.

Well, if you say volatility is the thing here, then it's either it will go increase or decrease and not that the price will increase only. "Buy low and sell high" just do this thing and you won't regret it.

Why do we worry on bitcoin volatility when traders love it, I know people have different purpose of using bitcoin, but we have to understand its nature.
If we are using bitcoin for regular transaction with just a small amount, I would not recommend it since it's not cheap and fast and high volatile, use stable coin instead, but if you are investing on it, you hold for the future, I think you should be more focusing on the development than its volatility.

Each and every form of investment schemes and other form of forex related investment were volatile by its development. When it comes to cryptocurrency the volatility is much higher than the other forms. This volatility is the one that makes the market gain as well lower the marketcap to a larger volume in a very small time period. Everytime the market is volatile, which makes the trading process the best choice to make an earning through the same.

That's 100% true, volatility is one of the main factor why we are seeing more traders in the market.
Big traders are interested to trade here since we don't have problem with liquidity, bitcoin alone is reportedly having over 20 billion daily daily trading volume, that's big enough even for whales who owns millions in usd value.

I think volatility is here to stay for good since this market continues to move with the new addition of projects.
Will have traders take advantage of its fluctuation and this is the trend we look for to have a big chance to make profit. The high and lows keeps the market alive and so trading will work well. Will this volatility remains until the end, it is a market design which bring crypto as a growing investment than of real stock market. We are glad to have this market and don't think that we need to change this features.

i dont think so. check the last month. it moved too much.
And another thing is that volatility is a good thing in crypto market. if the bitcoin price was stable, i dont think there would be that much investors in the ecosystem.
You are right, and maybe bitcoin price would still be around 1 usd now, because the main reason why people are really pumping fund into the cryptocurrency market is for the huge reward part of it, and that is what most of these big financial institution and large industries are also there for, if we are to speak the truth. I know the payment part of it is very important, and which is why Nakamoto created this coin in the first place, but people are yet to be encouraged on its payment system because of its volatility, and maybe one day, the whole table will turn and there will be more focus on using it as payment tool more than the investment part, and to achieve this, we need lots of merchants to start integrating it into their various payment system too.

I believe why wouldn't it? It has been a thing for years now and ever since I know bitcoin (close to seven years now) it has moved like crazy.
Don't get me wrong normally it doesn't move like this, normally remember the prices just moving at most 5% up and down?
That is the regular days for bitcoin, but sometimes just sometimes it makes a crazy move up or down and than stays the same again. It is not like we have 10%+ variance every single day, that doesn't happen, what happened today for example? Nothing much.

So, volatility may look like a problem to you but normally its just non-issue in 340 of 365 days a year and only a thing for 25 days a year separated from each other, even while going up sometimes it goes up slowly or going down it goes slowly but only less than a month a year it makes this wild crazy stuff.

Volatility is reduced or not depends on the demand and the supply as well. I trust trade more than the hodl, in my opinion the fluctuation of cryptocurrency depends on the user and the news, while we know that the change in interest or impact of the news is very influential for crypto, moreover we do not know the change will be sooner or later market.

What happened in the last two years is real evidence of why people join the cryptocurrency community.  Those who invested until 2016 now have a fairly good profit, especially considering the growth in 2017.  And the desire to get rich is still present today and that is why volatility attracts people to Bitcoin.
That is right, volatility is what really attracted lots of people to cryptocurrency generally and not only bitcoin, people are here in the industry to make money and have not yet fully embraced the main reason for creating a cryptocurrency technology. Volatility will not complete disappear in the cryptocurrency market generally, it has come to stay, it will only be reducing in some coins as time goes by, because the more we progress in this industry, the more new projects are being created and new volatility being created also.

Bitcoin volatility will eventually disappear in future, although not completely, but at least its volatility will be 90% gone, by then, it will automatically turn to an expensive stable coin, and people will be using more of satoshi then.
My question is what factors make fluctuations disappear? do users increase, marketcaps increase or what? I myself do not think that fluctuations will disappear, fluctuations are part of the crypto market, as well as bitcoin. prices will always go up and down quickly even though sometimes experience occasional slowdown in movements, but fluctuations will continue to exist in the bitcoin market

Yes obviously Bitcoin and all the cryptocurrencies should be volatile in the marketplace.

If this volatility is not there in the market definitely none of the traders will be able to make money. Then because of this volatility nature only Bitcoin is trying to wrap up to the peak value what was seen in the year 2017 December.
we will see the peak value again in the market because of this volatility nature.

Due to bitcoin limited supply and more demand ongoing  developments and new news adoption bitcoin prices keep speculating in the market as per the demand but in long term we can expect huge returns if we hold bitcoin
Yes price changes and we will have to take advantage of it, when price is down we should hold because only holding can give us profitable return for our investment, I like volatility the most for chance to buy at low price and selling higher, price of bitcoin is volatile so when it falls in the market we get chance to buy at low price and when it rises we get chance to sell higher, so stay here price is gonna be very higher now.

that's indeed and we know the fact people realized bitcoin as a commodity rather than currency and we know that so many countries have prohibited to use bitcoin as currency.
Volatility will always become the main thing that searched by so many speculators anytime.
that's the main consideration to call bitcoin as commodity

Volatility is the reason why traders and users earn some profits by trading it in the exchange or holding it till its price go up. Volatility have been a part of every cryptocurrency's nature with the exception of stablecoins. The rapid fluctuation in the price of bitcoin may be risky to every user but it also beneficial to the investors if the bitcoin go into bullrun. Every user should learn how to manage risks to prevent further losses when dealing with the cryptocurrencies.
Cryptocurrency is very risky in terms of long-term or short-term investment due to the active volatility cause by traders around the globe. That's why it is very important to practice or learn how to manage risk to prevent more losses. Quick and simple research may be enough to learn how to manage but it takes a lot of trials and error before you could actually fully control most of your losses.
