I also think so, even I don't want to miss ETH to be in the list of assets that I have. ETH has a very large base, and even since its inception it has been predicted to be a successful altcoin, and we can see that now, with their staying at the top of the cryptocurrency list.

Are you aware of the misshappenings:

https://getblock.net/en/news/coinbase-director-says-636-000-eth-lost-forever/

The most widespread cases of ETH loss. In 2017, 306 000 coins ($552,3 million) were lost due to a bug in a multi-signature wallet smart contract from Parity Technologies. 60 000 ETH ($108,3 million) in 2020 was also lost by crypto exchange Quadriga due to a smart contract failure, and about 24 000 ETH ($43,32 million) was sent to a burn address by the Ethereum users for all time. Another 11 500 ETH ($20,76 million) was lost due to the failure during the release of the 2022 Akutars collection of non-fungible tokens (NFTs).

How much percentage do these failures account for over the course of ETH's full operation ? I am just wondering if you can provide all the data and clarify the relations between the failure and the surprising large fan base, that would be more convincing. It's like airplane accident. You can list countless airplane accidents here but if I am not wrong, taking an airplane is still the safest way for passengers. That's why still there are at least tens of thousands of flights every day all over the world.

In my opinion ethereum is the top altcoin of all altcoins and when compared to bitcoin, ethereum is the second, why can you say that, of course many people know about its superiority and there is no doubt that a lot of evidence has been achieved.  Ethereum is also the best choice of investment assets

It still is one of the king of altcoins for now, but people already tired I would say for the ridiculously high fee for every transaction make even when ETH changed from PoW to PoS where people have been anticipated for long time. It does make sense for them to change the choice and most likely people think BNB is the king of altcoin for now where it's almost does the same purpose. But still, ETH is one of the pioneer there for the smart contract  thingy.

There is no doubt that Bitcoin is the King of cryptocurrencies. If we only focus on altcoins, ETH is the most successful smart contract platform that owns the largest base of fans compared to other altcoins. The current market cap of Ethereum is over $200 Billions and the this will be more likely to increase in the long term. Can ETH be considered as the King of Altcoins ? What do you think ? Please let me know.

I mean as of right now yeah but there are other promising projects and platforms that are on the verge of breaking out.  One thing is for certain with altcoins: "nothing is EVER certain" lol.  Seriously though yes for now eth is probably king of alts, but as we go into the next bull run who knows what happens from here.

Ether still holds its place as the altcoin king and will remain so for the foreseeable future. The current price of each Ether is $1800 which had crossed $5000 in a bullish period. There are many smart contracts on the Ether platform that are in leading positions in the crypto market. In all respects, Ether is still the best from all altcoins.

It's true that Ethereum has established itself as one of the most successful and widely used smart contract platforms in the cryptocurrency space, with a market cap of over $200 billion. While it may not have the same level of recognition or adoption as Bitcoin, it's certainly a strong contender for the title of "King of Altcoins". However, it's important to remember that the cryptocurrency market is highly volatile and subject to rapid changes. There may be other altcoins or smart contract platforms that could emerge and challenge Ethereum's position in the future. Nonetheless, Ethereum's strong development community, growing ecosystem of decentralized applications, and increasing institutional adoption make it a promising candidate for continued success in the long term.

If Bitcoin is king, then Ethereum is queen. Maybe the language is exactly that.
Because Eth is present faster than other smart contracts, of course Eth adoption is more than others. Let's say BSC currently has more dominant users compared to Ethereum because transaction fees are much cheaper. Besides that, polygon will also get a warm welcome for many current crypto users.

I also thinks about Ethereum that it's the king of all altcoins because of its popularity and usecases but when I see that you have to pay a huge transection fees for a little fund or toke transfer then I just feel disappointed. But still now I think it's the king of all altcoins but there is no surity to remain same in future.
Yeah, the fees that are happening on ETH's network is crazy high. I can say that it's still the king of altcoins but if this continues, we don't know until when majority of the users jump into another network have continue with those cheap fees and transactions like maybe in tron, matic or any other networks that has been so cheap with their fees. And for anyone in here that still don't know how to track fees and check it first before transacting, here you go. (https://etherscan.io/gastracker)

if only their fee aren't that high, then it'd be perfect but I guess it gives chance for L2 to thrive after all had ethereum got their fee problem solved surely L2 will be of no use. ETH is definitely a really good coin it even revolutionize but the thing with this coin is that it just seems it would never ever solve the critical problem that is the fee.

of course I agree with your argument if until whenever ETH is the king of altcoin and nothing can replace it, because ETH is the pioneer of Blockchain ecosystem, so there is no need to doubt if ETH is the king of altcoin, therefore I always add ETH in my portfolio every time I have money, because I'm sure if the price of ETH will definitely increase very high and can give me a lot of profit.

Not even arbitrary, they were also questioned whether they could become bigger than bitcoin or not. Maybe it's too far to talk about it, but in general I can say that ETH is now the best altcoin today that should not go unnoticed.

Then you have to realize that not the fees that make ETH down but the use-case of the said project that makes people believe and think about the better future of this coin despite the market competition. As we can see, a lot of projects are similar to ETH, and so many platforms but fortunately, ETH is able to sustain itself and win the competition. Huge fees really don't matter because what most important is that we are investing in the right project, a project that is really can be trusted, and the project created plays a big role in the market development.

ETH has solidified it's position at the top of altcoin market cap rankings. Many of the most popular projects on the Ethereum blockchain can also be found on Binance Smart Chain, but even if you can replicate anything on ETH on other blockchains it has not been enough to dethrone it. People seem to trust the more established and less centralized coin.
true, in recent years no one has been able to unseat ETH as the king of altcoins. if you look at the market cap of all altcoins it seems very difficult to pass ETH, even BNB which is predicted to be able to beat ETH has a market cap far below ETH.

I think it’s been pretty clear that ETH has reigned supreme over altcoins for some time now. However, the decision to move to PoS from PoW took away their miner support and left ETH as not being any more hardened than other altcoins. Some, like Polygon are even more advance while being cheaper and handling more volume. ETH may continue to be the most valuable altcoin, but only because it’s holders are rich enough to keep it that way.

Well said. What's keeping ETH afloat are none other than whales. There's a lot of money invested into this cryptocurrency, anyways. It may have turned into a PoS "shitcoin", but it's still a better option than BNB or Solana. No other altcoin comes close to ETH in terms of user acceptance and market demand. Developers continue to build on ETH despite the high gas fees and slow transaction confirmation times. I think it will grow bigger as new projects join the network.

Don't expect ETH to lose market dominance anytime soon, especially when it has first mover advantage. It's like saying BTC will be replaced by a rival cryptocurrency with "better features". Who knows if ETH gets to outlive most altcoins in the future? Just my thoughts Grin

That's right, I can say that Ethereum is the king of Altcoins, because of him Altcoin innovations were raised and growing and making more developers able to develop their own tokens more easily and quickly.
Alt Coins have gained a lot of popularity these days, especially tokens on the Ethereum platform. You will notice that after Bitcoin, Ethereum is ranked first in cryptocurrency and Ethereum is second. Due to which Ethereum is called the king of alt coins and Bitcoin is called the king of all cryptocurrencies. Hence, Ethereum is now very popular and investments are made in large quantities on this platform.

Of course the Ethereum coin is the king among alt coins.  The most traded volume is the Ethereum coin and massive investors have invested in the Ethereum platform. Next to bitcoin is ethereum coin as the trading volume today is 410 million dollar trading volume. That's why Ethereum is called the king of the alt section. I myself am an investor because the price is always up and down, trading is possible to make huge income in this Ethereum platform.

The position of Ethereum coin is after Bitcoin. The position of Ethereum can never be taken over by any other coin. Also, it is expected that the popularity will last forever. But after Ethereum, I will support bnb coin. bnb is becoming more popular day by day.  Hopefully these coins that are there will be after Bitcoin, like all other coins, they will become more popular and we will have to wait for a few more years.

The Merge has finally launched on Ethereum [ETH] and nothing has been the same ever since. What had hoped to be a major bullish event has turned into a short-term beacon of pain for ETH traders.

However, the post-Merge crypto market is witnessing a strange trend reversal as Ethereum‘s trading volume share hit an all-time high. This pattern put an end to Bitcoin BTC‘s trading dominance and even raised questions of its favouritism in the crypto community.ETH registered nearly 2/3rd of the market share of trading volume during last week’s sell-off. The crypto market also observed this shift in narrative for some time as ETH tripled its market share since 2020. This suggested a “durable shift” in market structure away from BTC.
