ETH is the of the oldest and without any doubt the most used altcoin. As our market shows, old coins are never getting old. For example, just look at BTC with its ridiculous 7 tps and high fees, nevertheless, it is still the most popular crypto currency.

Ethereum is not getting old. It is getting a bit matured, as the developers are constantly working to remove the bugs and known issues. The platform is still used by more than 90% of the ICOs, despite doubts regarding the security. Other competing platforms such as QTUM, NEO and Cardano have gone down the drain and are becoming insignificant in the cryptocurrency market.

I don,t think its getting old and losing its popularity .The ethereum platform is well developed and his a bright future .The vast of ICO is making an affect on this platform but the platform will not survive in near future .However the market is going down and not only affect on eth only but also all the cryuptos are surviving now .So the i have firmly say it will be a good project for all time.

If they do not speed upt the process of developing Ethereum 2.0 they will have a real problems.
QuarkChain, Elrond, Harmony and Zilliqa already have working state sharding technology, aren´t you afraid that Dapps will start moving to faster blockchain solutions?

Ethereum is old, that's true, but Ethereum is definitely not extinct.  Let's not be so quick to forget the awesome contributions of Ethereum in bringing forth unique projects built on its blockchain. Competition is always a welcome development, and for a fact TRON, EOS, and other new blockchain architectures like Binance Chain are really taking the shine gradually from ETH. I strongly believe ETH 2.0 will bring back Ethereum's glory, if not delayed further as always.

Its valuable because it actually has a decentralized mining distribution.  Gamers and poor people can use gpus while bitcoin is only dominated by asics.

Ethereum also have volatility, and it represents more altcoins, ethereum are easy to deal with smart contracts.
aside from the allegation that ethereum is getting old, you can see the difference between eth among the top five coins.
If ethereums really gets old who dares to make an ICO using eth to invest rather than bitcoin that is much expensive.?

ethereum will also continue to grow more and more and also more users, because I also believe that the development of ethereum prices will also increase this year, so I believe the price and ethereum price growth in the future will also be better.

As old as ETH network is remember that some projects are released at the same time ETH was released too for example litecoin was facing the same present fate ETH is facing until this year begins and LTC start receiving  better upgrades and supports so lets give ETH time as well its too early to think that ETH is getting to old to keep up

[...] the ICO craze was no more, and people stopped using Ethereum [...]

ICOs are just an early use-case. ETH is way way more than merely an ICO platform. It offers huge possibilities for automation across numerous sectors. Basically anything that can be defined using rules can be replaced by ETH smart contracts. The mortgage application process is one often-cited example. If anything in crypto will change the world, it will surely be smart contracts.

In case you have not noticed, old is gold in crypto. When you have a coin that is so stable that the changes do not need to be fast or immediate, when the changes in fact take forever to implement, because of difficult consensus and what not, then you know that's a sign of a good, mature coin. Bitcoin still takes the cake of course, but Ethereum's problems now are what actually changed my mind about it.

After so many delays, it seems to me that Ethereum is starting to get old. The hype is over, and people are not so excited about ETH as they used to be within its early days.

Nonetheless, what are your thoughts about this? Huh

ETH may have struggle but I'm not convince yet that it's already old and is not popular anymore.
What happen with ETH was the effect of the big pump during the popularity of ICO, and now slowly it's corrected to a lower price, however, this should not be viewed as a serious problem, unless other altcoins already recovers and ETH was still left behind, altcoins recovery has not come yet, so let us not judge too early, remain calm and continue to monitor the progress of ETH.
besides that, ETH also still ranks second from CMC, and I don't think ETH is getting old. In fact, many altcoins also have declining prices, or even difficult to pump. I am still quite optimistic about the development of ETH. although until now the progress has been slow, I am sure that when the information on ETH developments appears, it will bring ETH to the moon.
I'm not expecting it will moon, as long as the market situation remains the same, it's hard to expect on that, even if they will implement their new update.
People are waiting for that, but it doesn't create a big hype that will result to FOMO, not this time but it could give great improvement to ETH in the future as people sees that the team are working and delivering.

ethereum was doomed from the start. i am mostly surprised about people's surprise when they see ETH going on the path that it was supposed to go. not to mention that it is a path that has been taken by many altcoins before ETH.
with unlimited supply, no immutability, with centralization and a huge premine and lack of scaling and ton of other issues, you should have been surprised if it weren't doomed.

as for the price, it is only short term pumps that keeps it alive. for example the 2017 pumps were the biggest ones that were accompanied by the ICO hype and together they led to a huge price rise that was unrealistic for such a project. so it had no other way to go but down 90%.

Ethereum had a large prominence within the crypto space since launch, due to its flexibility for developing decentralized applications and launching ICO tokens. During 2017, Ethereum gained a lot of traction where it had massive transaction activity within its Blockchain network. This was largely attributed towards the rise of ICO's popularity, as well as, Blockchain-based games like CryptoKitties. While those times where exciting, everything came to an end as soon as transaction speeds became lower and fees spiked due to high network load.

After that, the ICO craze was no more, and people stopped using Ethereum more thoroughly. With the rise of other smart contract platforms with better speeds and lower fees than Ethereum, most developers and businesses have shifted towards well-known competitors of ETH. Now, many people are waiting for the PoS consensus upgrade to take effect, but developers continue to delay the same. After so many delays, it seems to me that Ethereum is starting to get old. The hype is over, and people are not so excited about ETH as they used to be within its early days.

I think some of your observation are endeed true, Ethereum popularity for smartcontracts and dapp development was decline, But it doesnt mean that ethereum is getting old already. But most of known reason was the competition as we all know that unlike before "Ethereum was the monopoly of those services" but today many other platforms was already offered the same services in more effecient way, much faster speed and lower transaction cost. I think thats the main reason why Ethereum dominance in smartcontracts and Dapps development is declining,For the ICO's we should consider the Market situation, The fraudulent acts and scams that causing damage to the ICO market that was the big deal that need to be resolve. but lets give Ethereum a chance to implement its upgrade maybe its surprise us all.

The older it gets, more mature it would be. Let's wait for that maturity. Then ETH would be wiser with regards to the price movement.

I don't think that's the case, let's break it down.
Ethereum is only four years old it is still a young technology and so many things are still coming up like the PoS consensus upgrade like what you mentioned.
ICO does not have an impact at all, because we now have IEO and STO and companies still prefer Ethereum the volume will speak for itself
If people are losing excitement then how come the volume is still there and I still see some ICO and IEO accepting Ethereum, it's still preferable
I wonder how many people stopped using Ethereum, gambling sites, crowdfunding sites and online stores still accept Ethereum
