Yes, many people easily say or take the perception that gambling is a hobby also on the basis that this activity is carried out continuously and they really like it, so over time people say that gambling is a hobby.
In addition to considering gambling as a hobby, they can also say that gambling will make money even though sometimes it cannot be predicted or as a surprise for those who do it.
And even worse, if the person carries out gambling without limiting each time they play, it is likely that they will feel regret due to being too excessive in playing, yes, at first they will feel happy but slowly they will feel sadness and regret due to losing a lot of money and only then will they make the right conclusion.

Even if they consider gambling as a hobby, the majority of the gamblers do not treat gambling as a hobby. Hobby is something that is done in leisure time and for fun but most people will gambler for money and they are in mental pressure to win and become in stress when they lose. This behavior may not be with all the gamblers but those I know has the same feeling.
When you ask them verbally they will say that they treat gambling lightly as a hobby but in fact they are too emotional to get some money out of it and not lose the money.

After reading a lot of different answers on this topic, we can conclude that the majority consider gambling to be their hobby. If we talk about entertainment, which includes games, then for those who are true fans of gambling, betting regularly is commonplace. Someone loves to collect and will always find the necessary amount to buy that original thing in his opinion that he would like to add to his collection. In the same way, regularly visiting casino sites for players will be something different from just a one-time trip to play. 

I would argue that gambling is a hobby, if you are doing it in your spare time and don't have it as your main focus in life. Maybe my approach is too simplistic, but I like to categorize my day in three buckets: work, family and hobbies. Work is where we are getting our money from and where we spent most of our time per day. For someone who spents most of his time gambling and generates a stable income from it, I would call it his job and not his hobby. To classify gambling as a hobby it doesn't really matter that we are betting with money, because most things in life involve money. Having a sport as a hobby means we need to be part of club, buy outfits and other tools, etc. Gambling is just another activity most people enjoy in their spare time.

Well, it’s definitely correct that gambling belongs to the category of entertainment.  And here the question probably arises: is any human hobby actually entertainment?  Or should a hobby be considered something more than just entertainment?  I think that many people just have very different understandings of what a hobby means.  And depending on the individual understanding of this term, perhaps the answer to the question discussed in this topic depends.
 I still lean more towards my vision of gambling as an interesting entertainment that can be classified as a hobby rather conditionally.  Still, people usually understand by hobby such a person’s hobbies as collecting or a passion for constantly visiting a certain theater or music concert.  And in general, a passion for something more specific, for example, the acting of a particular actor in the theater.

Depending on the person, this definition of gambling addiction actually has a broad meaning because there are differences between gambling addicts who are controlled and there are also gambling addicts who don't control themselves. For example, I consider gambling to be just entertainment so I don't take gambling too seriously even though I often play this every weekend for fun. making it a hobby but not something that makes me addicted to gambling even though I often play it every weekend but under good control because I have a budget so as not to exceed the limit.

People who are addicted to gambling usually cannot control themselves and play beyond their limits even without a budget. They can be called uncontrolled gambling addicts. I also think I am addicted to gambling because I often gamble on weekends but it's not something I should play at the end. Sometimes during the week I go out to try other hobbies, especially when I lose at gambling, I often divert my mind to looking for fun in other hobbies, usually I go fishing to make me calmer and enjoy my other hobbies, the point is, as long as I can control the hobby, don't I? The problem, but the problem is people who can't control it, not everyone who likes gambling will be addicted to gambling like you think.

Started as a hobby and ended with a gambling addiction. But I really think those who bet on sports may not build this kind of problem. Most cases are from casino and slot players.
I mean, how many sports can a person be good at? 3 or maybe 5. This means there's always a hiatus where he won't gamble for a day or two or maybe even a week. It's not like every day there will be a sport that he knows where he could bet for unless he will force it with another sport and blindly bet without a single knowledge about it. I would still call it a hobby if a gambler could do rest when there's no game to bet for.

Yeah, that is why they must realizes and not trying to uses gambling as a hobby. They knows what happens to other people who use gambling as a hobby and that makes them loses big money. If they can use gambling for the fun thing, they will not gets any problem while playing gambling.

They can use other things as a hobby that will not gives a problem. They can avoid losing some money from the other hobby and gets the fun too. Gambling is just an activity that they don't have to use too often.

The addicted to gambling is something that they must avoids. By limiting themselves from playing gambling can helps them to avoids that. They must take care of themselves and their money, especially when they playing gambling.

I think many people experienced this. In the beginning they feel it is like a hobby but it becomes a part of their life. When this happens, it will be bad if they become addiction and can't control themselves. But if they still can control themselves, I think it won't be a problem for their life. Sure, no one who never got losses in gambling, it is impossible to avoid. However, when we realize it, we must be wise and understand to always gamble normally. It is because we know that we will never win forever, the must be time for losses.

The dangerous thing about this is that things can lead to a path of addiction, and this is just what a person can fall into, if the level of dopamine is high and the emotions with adrenaline are high, sometimes people do not know how to control themselves , and they do not see the Value of money at the moment that they play, because they see money as something simple like chips or something like that, that is the danger, that is why it is said, that when you play you have to be very careful and stay grounded, if we are in the clouds, it is easy to lose money and that is ugly for any person, one as a person feels bad, then you have to stay grounded before, during and after the Game.

Using gambling as a hobby is like when you're inviting problem for yourself because you can't be peaceful when you're always losing.
Having a hobby that you won't be enjoying is not a good decision.
It's better to have a different hobby but you can spent some few hours gambling from time to time.
When gambling isn't your hobby, you can't get addicted and you won't be gambling always that increase your losses.
Anybody saying he can make gambling a hobby hasn't experience being addicted to gambling and he can't stop gambling while all that happens to him is him losing money anytime that he decides that he wants to gamble.

At the very beginning of a gambler, the gambler may consider gambling as a hobby but in the course of action the theme of the hobby can be changed into addiction as the person has to get back the money that the person has already lost or to make more and more profit as soon as possible which the person has already started winning.

Gambling is not only about casinos which may be set up in such a way,  that it may be difficult to control yourself because it is difficult to calculate because it has random algorithms. But, basically gambling can also be used as a hobby,eventhough it is difficult for them to win,  but when they have a hobby of betting, they don't care about the results. Because after all, when gambling is a hobby for them, they will only feel pleasure when betting. However,if they use gambling as an income, then this can have a bad impact on their lives, so ofcourse it will trigger their emotions to become bad.

It is a fact that things are like that, only now one as a player gives some advice, the fact that it is positive does not mean that one will win, but it does help a lot to cope with the game if one loses , at least one will not be upset or feel very bad, but a Combination of game + bad mood the person has their emotions there repressed towards the bad side, and the reactions, because the person has to react must be in a bad way, then just because of being in a bad mood I would advise not to play, only until one feels a little better, for me it is the best and healthiest for the mental and physical Health of the person.

Yes, this means that the smart gamblers you mentioned are those who understand and are aware of the possible risks in gambling, they know how winning and losing in gambling works so they understand that if they cannot control themselves in their approach to gambling then it is clear that it is the same as they allow themselves to continue walking towards the edge of the cliff.

On the other hand, gambling is not acceptable for most people, meaning that the majority of gamblers are those who treat gambling in the wrong way, because in fact, as long as you or anyone else only gambles without exceeding your limits then of course you will avoid various bad possibilities such as loss of significant amounts of money or other disasters. Unfortunately, the winning prize is gambling in the form of money, where it is clear that everyone needs money and the object of money is what makes gamblers ultimately lose their way.

If they just gamble for fun, they must have control over themselves so they will not gets more tempt from gambling and can not stops gambling. That happens to many people so they must remember to take care of themselves and must avoids the big lose and not use gambling for a hobby. Otherwise, they will lose much money when playing gambling too long.

If they use money management in gambling, they will not lose that much money. But back again, if they use gambling as a hobby, they will difficult to control their money because as a hobby, gambling will needs much money to be played. They can return to playing gambling more often than other people who doesn't use gambling as a hobby.

They must realizes that they don't have to use gambling as a hobby. That will prevents them from much trouble that they can face. If they can be wise, they will only spends some money to playing gambling.

Indeed, gambling could be bad for some, but it is obvious that it is not bad for all. Some people may love doing it, which is why I would say that, yes, gambling can be taken as a hobby as asked in the title of this thread. What you love doing and trying as much as possible to find time to do regardless of the money you use to access it is part of your happiness, so it could be your hobby. And if anyone can keep it reasonable financially and psychologically, then I call it a good hobby. This is especially true if you've built some kind of mindset towards it in which you can get refreshed after work or cool your head no matter what you are facing initially.

So, it is all about how we view it or engage in it, gambling is not so bad. Nonetheless, for those who are trying to gamble for fun or trying to make money with it under the right management, you have to ensure that you have a viable plan and budget that will speak well of proper management towards it. Anything outside this is going to ruin the party for the person sooner or later.

I think where the cardinal points to this confusion could be is the fact that, you okay to win and you can loss money in the process. Well, when it comes to hobby, money doesn’t really count. For someone who enjoys just watching football, either you watch it from the comfort of your home or go to the Arena to watch them, you too could be loosing money. Not in the sense that you had to bet it but, the fact that, you spend on electricity tariff, tickets to the Arena, a beer perhaps and other things that you might need to have a nice time while watching a game.
That’s just how you spend money on taking an odd either against or for an option in the market. The most important thing is, you don’t let it rule over you. You might like or enjoy gambling but, it doesn’t become a force that pulls you towards taking a bet even when you know you haven’t got enough resources for the activity.

A player's thought through his mental strength plays a strong effective role in changing the game for any gambler. And most players lose this energy at the early stages of gambling as a hobby. Overtime the game changes from hobby to compulsive gambling. Because the player no longer think better out of low mental strength. People fail to realize that whatever the body does consistently eats up more energy from the person. Regardless of how simple it may look. Gamblers forget that they lose energy while gambling, even slot the easiest game could make the body release dopamine, energizing the player to spend more time and energy in the game.

It is that I think that everything that we face, the challenges, the adversities that sometimes are presented to us in life must be confronted with great strength, but mental strength because sometimes the things that are the challenges of life make us weak, in the casino it is very common, if we lose often, we will have thoughts that I am not good at this, or maybe these things about playing in the casino are not for me, but it comes from the weakness of the person, that is why mental strength must always remain firm in the face of failures, especially when money is at risk, if money is at risk and lost it is obvious that sometimes we will feel down and have less spirit, in the casino, in life we ​​should never lose the strength and integrity of our mental health.
