There's no need to be upset

The person feels guilty about the money he lost, because he realizes that he could have spent it on something that could have benefited him. Only if we go back to the moment when he has money and a choice will he most likely choose to gamble again, because gambling causes much more emotions than even buying something useful. Any gambler sooner or later feels a sense of guilt and it is quite normal, because this kind of feelings appear at the moment of realizing their mistakes.
In that you are right, so when I was a newbie and I played a lot of dice that feeling always appeared, so when I was playing and I lost I always thought about what I could buy and that filled me with rage at myself, of course that is a thing of the past, now I do things differently, not with the same intensity, now things have changed and are seen from another point of view, a more mature point of view, where my secret is in putting up the money to lose in a casino, I don't put up more than that money because that throws everything off, so I think that all those mistakes, feelings and things that I went through helped me a lot to mature my game.
Good for you, most people don't learn from their mistakes and they keep repeating the same mistakes again and again, especially in gambling. You will often see gamblers losing a lot of money in gambling, they may feel bad about it and curse the casino and themselves due to the heat of the moment, and they might even stay away from gambling for some days, but after a few days, you will see them gambling again, and if you ask, they will smile and say they couldn't help it.

For me, I have also changed a lot. When I first started gambling long time ago, I had no control, I used to use strategies such as martingale because I used to think they work and you can recover your lost money or points by doubling your bet after each loss, it used to work sometimes, but pretty soon I realized that it is nothing more than a disaster strategy.

this is a debate that always sparks a thought for me regarding biological determinism and free will
if we can really choose or if we usually fall prey of our instincts
would love to see studies on gambling, addiction and genetics, but these are a bit hard to find.

I see some gamblers who cannot control their finances and emotions so they will be in the situation you mentioned. To be honest, I don't like someone who uses their daily grocery money or most of their salary to gamble. Especially if you are an employee and think about becoming a successful person. One must save and invest. They also have to be able to manage their finances. Especially if they already have a family. It is important to be able to manage finances and manage emotions well. I think guilt is proof that you have indeed done something wrong. You have spent all your money on gambling and you should be able to buy something useful. Start managing your finances well so you can see how much budget you have for the fun you have.
It is indeed not recommended to use your daily spending money for gambling, because that is an action that in my opinion is considered excessive. People who gamble using money they shouldn't, such as using money for shopping or savings, of course they are people who gamble with emotions attached, because they can't control themselves well so they dare to do things they shouldn't. also because they gamble by spending all the salary they have earned, I think they gamble without being able to control themselves so they can become confused because of their own emotions which lead them to misery.
It's true what you say, it is important to be able to manage our own finances and emotions. because it determines what the future will be like, if we cannot control ourselves and our emotions then destruction or major losses cannot be avoided, this will definitely happen when there is no good self-management.

I disagree with most of what you said...

Depression and suicide, any vice is addictive, it's dopamine hits, and without the "reward" signal triggering in your brain, life is meaningless/depression. Too much, is the same thing, loss of interest/dopamine overload. The golden rule in life is balance.

Banning gambling, or regulating it more, isn't the solution, where would it end? Food, tv, games, social media, sports etc... everyone would be living like monks.

I think the solution is educating people who have addiction. For example, gambling is more addictive than other vices... but why does it affect some and not others?
Because different amounts of dopamine, look at a lot of gamblers. Those without problems are aware that it's more likely they're going to lose, and it's more about the entertainment value of risking what they can afford to lose.

Those with problems, usually have very little understanding how it works. "I've lost xx amount of times, statistically i'm gtd to win with the next bet" "I created a strategy to beat the house" "i lost 8 times straight with 50/50 odds, games are rigged" It's a pattern, It's the delusion that they're gtd to win before they even play that makes the rush so much more intense. And it's all because they gamble without fully comprehending what gambling is.

So i think the biggest problem is that most people are aware of these issues, you mentioned, And some people will say it's bad, or support the habit. But no one explains the importance that it's only a form of entertainment, not a quick easy way to get rich. Esp in America, you will hear about a dozen lottery winners before you hear a story about someone losing their house.

I know the majority of people see addicts as the "victims" and some blame the providers.
But you don't become a gambling addict after one game, there are few things that make you instantly hooked. And gambling is not it. You're fully aware if you like something "too much"
Or to put it simply, everyone is aware they're going to have a problem before they actually have the problem. If ignoring these signs results in domestic abuse, making your family homeless, or assault. The issue isn't that gambling is allowed, it's the mentally weak pos hitting their partner.

A "hobby","entertainment","fun" is exactly how everyone should view gambling, ive never met anyone with a gambling addiction, who didn't think they couldn't beat the house or get rich. That's the issue.

Gambling can affect self-esteem, relationship's, physical and mental health, work performance and social life. It can harm not only the person who gambles but also the family, friends, workplaces and communities.

So with all this I think if they put an restrictions on gambling it's not a bad idea at all, first why is gambling a problem?

Gambling can stimulate the brain's rewards system much like drugs or alcohol can, leading to addiction. If you have a problem with compulsive gambling, you may continually chase bets that lead to losses, use up savings and create debt.

You may hide your behavior and even turn to theft or fraud to support your addiction. So with my conclusion and my observation towards this gambling is really cousin harm to the life of those ones who are addicted to it most their families.

Secondly what are the social problem caused by gambling?
(1) Depression and suicide
(2) bankruptcy, family-break up
(3) domestic abuse
(4) assault, fraud
(5) theft, and even homeless
Addiction to gambling is link to a range of serious personal and social harm such as those things I mentioned. These effects can be devastating to the individual as well as their friends, family, workplaces and community.

This are the harms and with all this are the reasons why, they see people who gambles as a distraction towards the society and the most people who are into all this are the addicted ones. So how is gambling harmful to the society, ills associate with problem gamblers are widespread and often go beyond and addition to gambling.

People who gambles can be at risk of this following categories of harm.
(1) Financial harms
(2) Erosion of savings
(3) Filling for bankruptcy
(4) Relationship conflicts
(5) Neglect of relationship with significant other
(6) Neglect of relationship with children
(7) Extend family and friends
(Cool Social isolation
(9) Emotional or psychological distress

So I don't really blame the people who sees gambling as a bad thing to the society, meanwhile If the younger ones take of the steps of being addicted don't you think they'll experience all this as well. So gambling it's bad to the society nevertheless it's also helping in the other hands, to ones which are benefiting and earning from it.

What is the mindset of a gambler? On my opinion pathological gamblers play the cope with a life stresses. Near-misses and personal choice give some gamblers a sense of control, winning money. Others believe they can beat the casino and win real money.

So the mindset are those things that attract harm to them and the society because they are focused on the money, and that's why I said it's also helping some people in other hands and it's also killing some people right now in the society. Behavior also involves that makes it look bad to the society, while trying to get back lost money by gambling more( chasing losses) lying to family members or other to hide the extent of your gambling.

Risking or losing important relationships, a job, or school or work opportunities because of gambling. Asking others to bail you out of financial trouble cause you have gambled money away.

So what I'm trying to conclude is that gambling isn't something you should take as a hobby or as a means of earning just to make a living. So what are your thoughts?

You have many things that's been triggered by excessive gambling, gambling is social activity as such it is not suppose to be bad to the society, is just that the excess of it thats frowned at, gambling sites has put up minimum wage for individual gambler which starts from 18years, i believe that the reason for this age stuff is to prevent the underage to engage themselves in gambling as adulthood satrts from 18, every adult knows what is good and bad unless the ones that allows what they do to control them.
On a general note, gambling triggers addiction which is very risky to humans in general that's why it advisable for individual that doesn't have self control not to be involved, safe control is what every gambler need to overcome addiction, once a gambler conquers addiction, then he or she is good to go, athough i have never seen gambling as a hobby but the fact still remains that it is a social engagement that needs individual carefulness to be part of it.

I realized a long time ago that if a person doesn't limit themselves, it can lead to problems and this doesn't just apply to gambling. I had a lot of negative experiences in my life and it lasted until I learned to limit myself. Restrictions though deprive me of some desires, but in my opinion they bring more benefits and save not only my money, but also my health. Limit your gambling and then it won't develop into any problems.

The consequences of irresponsible gambling is very high and it can make the addict look unkept like someone insane. This is why as a gambler, you should be able to have prevention measures on addiction in order to gamble happily and enjoy the fun in gambling. I agree with every points that you highlighted, but the problems lies on the people who see gambling as a means of making profit, and they will go at extra miles to make sure that they continue gambling even though they are running at big loss. Such people needs to quit gambling and go on a long break, if not they are doing more harm to themselves. If most gamblers can key into the rules of gambling and only gamble for fun, we will have less gambling related problems in the society.
When a gambler becomes addicted to gambling then no sense of responsibility will work in him as he gambles irresponsibly due to which he loses a lot of money and returns home empty handed. If a responsible person takes to gambling, he would never gamble irresponsibly. There are thousands of families who suffer the consequences of gambling addiction. Gambling addiction is a bad habit that puts people in danger. When a person becomes addicted to gambling, they gamble until they lose all the cash they have. There are also cases where gambling is seen every day and he has no money left to repay till the end he has to pay his debts with his life so everyone should refrain from this kind of dangerous gambling.

Yes, when gamblers try to achieve a goal rather than taking gambling as entertainment, gambling creates a major setback for those gamblers when they lose. A gambler then harms himself and the effect spreads to his family and, in turn, to society. Gamblers who experience harm often refer to gambling as negative. But if gamblers could practice responsible gambling, they will not considered negatively. A gambler's failure to practice responsible gambling is his own responsibility. Although gambling is not seen as positive in society, the uncontrolled gambling of some gamblers has a greater effect on society.
This is something that is being lost on society today, whenever we find out that a person is behaving in a way that is antisocial, the first thing that many people do today is to try to find a third party to blame, when most of the time, the only one that is responsible for the way their life is going on is that person.

So people learn that no matter what they do, they are never at fault and this is a dangerous attitude to hold, since those people will never learn to take responsibility for their actions and will blame anyone for their lack of self-control when they gamble, when they are the only ones that can stop themselves and change for the better.
That's because searching for other people mistakes is easier and no needs to takes too long. They can start blaming that person and even judge with many bad words. When someone playing gambling, he must takes responsibility for himself so that will not impact to the society arounds him and no one will follows him for playing gambling without moderation.

If more people follows what he did by playing gambling excessively and only wants to make money, that can makes them feels sad because they may lose much money. If their lose makes them become temper and effects to their relationships circle and their society, they will gets a bad assessment from their society. Their society will gets the effects of some people who treat gambling with wrong.

Yeah, the thing is that if you live your life with a mental view that everything is your own fault, then you can actually change your behavior and therefore change your world.

If you assume someone else is responsible of your life, then you will have a hard time trying to change other person, hint, you can't.

So, in any way, I think it is better to think it is your responsibility, even if it doesn't seem like it.

There are still some gamblers who think the same way you were thinking when you were a newbie in gambling. Some have been in the system, but still, they find it difficult to outgrow that reasoning, and that has been the reason why some of them gamble the way they have up till date, always calculating what they can achieve with the money they are expecting to win from gambling, even when they have not won it yet. The more they try, the more they lose to the game before they realise a lot of money has been wasted in the game.

Knowledge is important in gambling because with a valuable information, a gambler wouldn't make mistakes concerning their gambling activities. Those who get into trouble while gambling are always ignorant of responsible gambling. The ignorant players actually are the ones who bring in bad publicity to the society regarding gambling. This should also encourage the distribution of responsible gambling knowledge. That's if the society wants to reduce the rate at which people get addicted and destroy the life of their loved ones. Communicating with gamblers about the need to stay responsible and limit how they gamble, will help the new players to have prior knowledge on the game before doing deeply into gambling.

When a person is determined to maintain the right form of gambling, he wouldn't bother about getting into gambling troubles. Which could add more gambling disputes in the society. So, players who hasn't figured a method to set up their gambling activities in the proper form could be endangering their responsible gambling functionalities. As a player, it's necessary that an alternative plan is kept to sustain the periods of multiple losses.

Whether it happened right in the player's eye or unknowingly. It's also possible for a player not to keep to his principal, when in of extra gambling funds.

Yet, trying this out is a more reasonable means of handling and preparing against an unexpected gambling addiction. For a safety purpose the funds could be saved in a trusted person's account. Atleast without stress the gambler's reserved money could be used to revive him from gambling problems.

Just shows that you improved now in handling the situation, able to accept the outcome and the reality that losing money in gambling is inevitable. Experience can really teach something valuable that we can use the next time if we still opted to continue what we used to.

It's quite normal to have regrets if we lose in gambling, but it can be prevented if beforehand we prepared ourselves to the worse situation that can happen. So we can only set an amount, which is ready to lose and doesn't affect us negatively even it did happened that we are not fortunate to win.

This thought don't always come to our mind before we gamble, but it does surface when we are have lost the money and a thought will ring on our mind than we could have used the money to take care of our bill and do something that could be very rewarding and profitable even though it is to use the money and buy food. Gambling is just like a spirit and we should be ready to get prepared for it so that we don't finally have to lose everything due to the feeling that keeps telling us that we are going to make crazy amount of money in due time. Gambling is not for people that are not ready to take challenges and face their fear. We should likewise use our head to plan things that would not make us to lose finally.

The truth is if the gambler is not a responsible gambler he will always feel guilty when he finishes his gamble activities. One who is into business always feel bad when he's not making profits from the business he is doing, so as this is a gamble related thing that most gambler gave used as a means to make profits, they will also feel bad when they are not making any profits from it, especially if the lose is bigger than his winnings.

There is no doubt about it, there will always be people who point out people who play and lose a lot, it's like they have a magnet to talk about them, but I think that people who dedicate themselves to that, their lives are so empty that they should entertain themselves with what happens to Others , however it is something that we should not give Importance to, I consider that in casinos, each person who enters should always consider themselves to have a high degree of responsibility, so that they do not fall for the odds and although the casino is designed for us to get excited and spend a lot of money, we must be disciplined, then society and our emotions are something that we must be very Careful about.

Bad experiences or situations is something that could teach us on how reality works and on how it would really be affecting us on which its up to someone or an individual on how they would really be accepting those things or would really be that adjusting on what are the things that they should gonna do. It is really just that there are individuals who cant really just that be able to sensibly be able to make out some good decisions despite of the bad conditions that they are experiencing into. Gambling isnt really that bad on which the only bad thing on here is into those people who do make out bad decisions towards their gambling activity
on which this really causes for their lives to get miserable just because of the wrong decisions that they had made.

Gambling is really just that for fun but to those people who do make out such engagement and making themselves that getting addicted to it would really be the main
reason on why they do mess out their lives because of it.

Gambling can affect self-esteem, relationship's, physical and mental health, work performance and social life. It can harm not only the person who gambles but also the family, friends, workplaces and communities.
Maybe you should just be specific. I am a gambler, and I don’t have any effect on my family members or community. The only people from whom I know that their gambling activities always affect them or the people close to them are the addicted gamblers, they are the ones that do crazy things just because they want to gamble, and their activities are affecting people negatively. Addicted gamblers activities are the ones that make society have a negative mindset about gambling, but I don’t see anything bad about gambling, just that we should try not to be addicted to it.
Where the environment like our environment must try to match. If we swim against the current, we will never reach our destination. If we feel that the people of the society we live in do not look favorably on gambling then we should keep our privacy and then gamble. You may think that it doesn't matter to you what other people say but when you are in danger, people in your society will say worse things against you. Since you are gambling with your own money and risking your own money, why should you unnecessarily be bad in the eyes of others? Since there is an opportunity to gamble with enough secrecy, I think we should gamble with this secrecy so that people don't get a bad impression of us.

Every player should have enough knowledge about where they invest their precious assets to gain or lose. Every step here is very important. Therefore, it is complicated to win this game without prior knowledge.

People who have become addicted to gambling in excess can never win at gambling. Every resource is valuable to every human being. Instead of losing wealth and becoming a beggar on the road, one should invest by gaining sufficient knowledge before investing.
