I read that one of the best ways to preserve a seed phrase is to write it on a piece of paper and keep it in a safe place... Somewhere safe could be in your home out of the reach of family members and friends, it could also be a safe deposit box. But not everyone are financially buoyant to afford the services of a deposit box.

I believe we must have seen or heard about fire outbreaks, where buildings are completely erased by fire. Imagine if the owner or occupant of such a building has some Bitcoin assets, and has his/her phone, tablet, laptop and the seed phrase piece of paper in the building and everything was lost to fire. Now, this brings me to the question... Can seed phrase be memorized? It's advisable to memorize seed phrase?
People worry a lot about saving seed phrases. They also consider it too risky to put online. Again, even if you write it down on paper offline, you think about getting burned. But I think it's best if you write it down on paper and memorize it. Even if you forget a little from the memorization, you can follow the writing on the paper later. There are many obstacles in the way of people, but people do not stop moving. And you have to survive in the world by taking risks all the time.

The best method someone can preserve a seed phrase is through documents and the documents should be offline, because the offline documents is something we shall consider to say your coin will not be stolen from anyone, the best way is to have a box where you will have your documents that comprised your seed phrase, before some people use to keep it online and when they email is being hacked the wallet can be accessed, so that's the reason why people do not keep the seed phrase online

I don't think there is much need to memorize the seed phrase. Because there is highly chances to forget the seed phrase.
And if you can't afford a deposit box then I think you can write them down on paper and encrypt those passwords with some of your common key words so no one else can figure them out.  And if that paper is kept in a private safe place, I think there will be no reason to worry too much about the seed phrase.

Considering how many things you're going to come up with moving forward, I would not even count on memorizing my seed phrase. There's no such pattern that could make you memorize it easily considering that it is a word list in order anyway. I just realize to myself as well that I can't memorize for shit unlike when I was at high school. Such shit happens but hey we get older. Cheesy

Like others mentioned, better just engrave it to a metal plate for safety purposes.

This is a smart question because everyone would have there own opinion about this. It is advisable to memorize your seed phrase if possible and also have a hard copy so that I case you mistakenly forgot the seed phrase, you can easily go back and check it to make the correct.
I have seen genius that can assimilate a long words for years without forgetting them. If you are such a person that can cram some words without forgetting them then that would be nice and also make sure you back it up for reference since our brain does not work like computers.

Memorising a seed phrase might be risky to because forgetting any word will deny you access from  your wallet,  but writing it down or saving it anywhere on ur phone is far better than memorising it. Anytime you want access to your wallet you can easy look at it ,write than the seed phrase and gain access to your wallet. Remember once you misplace one alphabet in a seed phrase you will be denied access to that wallet.

...Can seed phrase be memorized? It's advisable to memorize seed phrase?
Why don't you try and see if it is possible to remember 12 or 24 words? Of course it is possible, but if you use your brain as storage, then you have to take into account that this storage can be damaged at any time, whether it is due to an accident or some disease that causes memory loss. In addition, keeping such things in your head is not smart for another reason, because someone can use it to find out about them while you are not completely conscious (under the influence of alcohol, drugs).
You don't even have to have any type of disease or accident, you could simply just forget it, it's human to forget some things, we all forget things and it's fine. I understand that some people think their memory is amazing, but that's really nothing that crazy and you could remember it for years and then suddenly forget it, that would be very very normal.

I personally believe that the best thing to do is write it down on paper somewhere and store it in one of the draws at your house. That way you wouldn't be able to forget it, and yes a burning building or so would see it gone, that's a terrible tragedy, but that's at least the safest method and would be very unlikely to have a burning building.

I think the best way is to write in a notebook that will not be lost, a piece of paper is easy to lose, or a memo on a mobile phone. I shared my mnemonic with my lover, because my memory is not good, he can Help me, I trust him.
This the worst decision I have come across so far in crypto space. If I understand you very well, your lover here could mean your boyfriend or husband right? If that is the case, have you thought about break up or divorce? Your best relationship could turn your worse experience after breaking up and you'll regret doing everything you did in the perfect days of your relationship. No one can be trusted with valuable nowadays. You'll have to be very careful. Notebook and your phone can get stolen too. Meta steel is recommended.

Memorising seed phrase is good, but human mind always makes mistakes. Something wrong while memorising or if something is forgotten, then what is been into the wallet goes unused. Better choice is to write down the seed phrase and keep it securely. In one way or other we need to keep things pre-planned and the same getting carried over to the upcoming generation. If not what we have earned go unused.

In my opinion, it is not practical as at some point, you might forget one word from those long list.
You can never be sure that you will always remember those seed phrases.
Better write it down and securely keep it where you think you will remember it and see to it that the place is safe and secure.
I won't trust myself with memorization. Sure, we can memorize it but how long?

You can actually memorize your seed phrase if you want to but as for me, I don't think I can , because I have to many things in my brain already. Rather, I would use my notebook or another writing pads to put them down and keep them in a safe place.

For the security of our money it is not a bad idea to memorize, sometimes things that are in digital can play a trick on us, it is good to have our private keys and a recovery phrase safely, it can be on paper and also if You can memorize it would be a good thing, but what I find difficult to memorize but it is not impossible to do is the private key, but there must be people in the world who must do it and that would be a pretty good mental exercise, and I would not use them , if I had a lot of bitcoin in a wallet I would not hesitate to do it because it is something that requires a lot of responsibility.

For me, memorizing of key phrase is not an issue. I know best mixing up words to get a smooth sentence sometimes I do use it to form a little poem which ryhmes with the alphabet serially aligned to match each one of the phrase as it is represented. I love doing that too which serves as backup but however I do not forget to write my phrase and store it some where because you know we are humans and not machine so not every time we would be memorizing such. That is how I do my thing you know.

The best way, in my opinion, is to write the phrase down on a fire-resistant steel metal and hide it in a place where no one will find it except you. I don't think that the best way is to memorize the seeds phrase because words can be forgotten or someone could even misarrangement  the seed phrase words.

But it's a good thing to have a variety of solutions for protecting your seed phrase. It's a good idea to practice and memorize your seed phrase in case something like a war breaks out and many of the buildings or locations where you may hide your seed phrase may be destroyed. Memory will service a good option in those cases. However, never use memorizing seeds phrase as the most secure option.

I believe a lot depends on your memory and what sort of person you are. I have an okay memory, but it's not exceptional and worse than many might have, so I know that I won't be able to retain the seed for a long time in my memory. I can memorize it, I can recall it, but I am not confident at all that I will never forget it. So for me, this isn't the right way, as I don't think a chance of me being robbed/hacked is higher than a chance that I'll simply forget the phrase. I also don't fully trust myself to remember where it's physically written down and to not accidentally leave it somewhere or destroy it while cleaning. So this isn't the approach I support either.

Yes, the seed phrase can be remembered.

To do this, you need to use special techniques for memorizing information, which are actively used in practice by intelligence agents and mafia bosses.

One of these methods is shown in detail in the series about Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson.  This method is called Mind Halls.  You come up with some room (for example, a castle or a tavern) and place objects there that help you remember information.

You can place items in your Mind Halls that will help you remember the seed phrase from your Bitcoin wallet.

Good question, I actually thinking this a few years ago but I haven't think of doing it as that is really risky. Imagine that people will get old and the brain won't probably remember it if you are not trying to write it on a daily basis or recite it. It is much better to have a backup but if you really wanted to make it safe there are some alternatives that I think before.

1. You can write down the privatekey and change 1-3 words and that's the only word you should memorize - it is safe and at the same time you will only memorize few words and even if people will see your private key they don't know which word is the fake and what is the right word for that.

Seed phrase is an important key that can contain all your life savings. Considering its importance, it definitely deserves maximum security. Otherwise you can lose everything in an instant. It can be write on a piece of paper but if it is keep on a digital platform it will be safe to protect it from fire or any other form of damage. Remembering the seed phrase is risky and can be all over if you make a mistake. So I think it's safe to write it down. A user can keep it where it is convenient considering its maximum security. However, if the password is stored in a safe place, he will be able to easily remember the short password of that platform for login where the seed phrase is usually longer that will be comparatively difficult to remember.

If you can memorize them, that's great, but it's not wise to use only one method to store the seed phrase, so combine multiple methods together because if unfortunately one day we will not be able to remember. I also memorize my seed phrases, but I also copy them down on paper and keep them in safe places.
To be honest, there were a few times when I couldn't remember all the words and I had to resort to copies to help me access the property. It's really risky to just keep them in our heads.

I am not the best of coders out there, but I do agree with the picture, and I am confident that my password would be neigh impossible to crack, unless google sells, it which is even less likely
There are a lot of ways that an online account can be hacked that doesn't require brute forcing or that much effort. The most common way is stealing users' password through phishing attacks in which case it doesn't matter how long the password were!
There could also be vulnerabilities that are unknown today but found in the future in their servers that could be exploited.
To add an example, here is the most recent massive hack in case you still think your google account is safe just because your password is long: https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2023/01/05/twitters-latest-hack-is-big-one/
235 million Twitter accounts and the email address and phone numbers connected to them are hacked and the records are being sold online. They exploited a vulnerability in Twitter only found last year.
