Well I don't think the issue here is about putting your life in danger but instead making others feel awful about their own life. When you win big just keep it to yourself and enjoy your gain then bragging about it to others, it can cause depression then lead to suicide. Making others feel bad about themselves when you achieve something big in your life shouldn't be a way of life instead be more supportive and give more to charity.
In fact, people(myself included) rarely think of this aspect of bragging about your wins, but you are right, probably, seeing great achievements of others can cause depression among some people.
