Maybe yes, Maybe no. As of now there are scammers around ICOs that scams people. We need to be extra careful in everything. You should search for more knowledge for you know if it is safe to join such campaigns and in ICOs. As ICOs or we can say in this kind of organization and business, risk is our number one competitor. For you to be profitable and to be successful you should take risk. It is not bad in taking risk but you should be careful and only invest in how much money you are willing to be out of your hands.

Participating in any ICO has never been safer! The awareness and participation that ICO command make it imperative for the owner and team behind any ICO to be transparent. The nature of ICO creation is also decentralized and it is verifiable by anyone who may need information about the supply and any other technical details of any ICO!

It depends on you, you must know first the potential of the dev and his project before you invest your money. If the project succeed your money will be doubled but if not it will gone. So, search first before you trust and invest.

If you invest carefully and with caution then its safe to participate in ICOs. But look for an ICO that you feel is best suited for you, and do some research on that one but also look into the team members too.

Right now there are many ICOs coming out, is it really safe to participate in any of it and spend that much? In participating ICOs I have high hopes that these coins could be the next Bitcoin or other currencies that are really going up in the market.

It is safe if you do a research about them. Always study first where you invest your hard earned money because once you are scammed you won't be able to get it back. There's someone who told me few days ago that 90% ICOs are only for the benefit of the developer so we need to research about those 10% of ICO's who are really true to what they say and would stay for long in the crypto world.

Investing into anything is never 100% safe as you are giving money to another person and you lose control of it, ICO's are the same.

The only thing you can do is to research heavily, if you find anything that is a little shady, find another ICO, there are plenty around.

That is the point.
Don't invest into any ICO before you do any research.
Also, don't invest all your money into one project.
I only invest into 1 or 2 ICOs per month, with 10% of my ETH.

Very good piece of advice that everybody should take into consideration. If you don't make a good research about the project then don't invest. Because chances that your return on investment might be low or zero.

In participating ICOs, you must be patience and safe to find some legitimate ones because there are lots of ICOs that were just a scam. But if you find something legit ICOs, you can assure it for being popular and very expensive.

It's safe as long as you've done some serious research and have something good and real backing it. I'm seriously looking into education and healthcare projects (TeachMePlease and Ethernal to name just some), because those are both serious and done for some good. I do understand the risks, but let's face it - there are some even with the best ICOs just because you can't have a 100% guaranteed positive investment climate anywhere.

Based on my experience, some ICO's are safe and some are not. Some of them are after investment and disapper with reason of "Hack Attack". Some ICO's are good to join and give you profit but choose only ICO that has more details and convincing to invest.

Not all of ICO are safe or legit. But some of ICO nowadays is really good investment. Before you joining in particular ICO, you should check first every details of their project. Their dev team, roadmap, white paper also their different projects in future. It can help to you to identify.

It is fairly easy to tell if a coin is a "scam" after doing a little bit of research. However, a lot of times contracts and coins are reviewed before launching so any vulnerabilities are usually found, however obviously some dont.

Nowadays there are many ICO's developing in the crypto world. But it is our responsibility to understand the project and make a decision to invest in it or not.As there are no regulations on ICO's it is our own duty to check them for ourselves. It is easy to check whether an ICO is good or bad.Just check their whitepaper, team, and activity
