5 Posts really isn't that big of a deal. There are some forums out there that require 20+ posts in order to unlock certain features.
The fact that it's not the worst out there doesn't absolve it of its failings.

The person who decides to only tell you about the newbie trap at the very last step of registration?It's mostly fair but can be a pain if you have been a lurker that suddenly realizes you want to post then get held up as a newb, but I guess you only have one person to blame for that!
