When Tron, Neo, Eos came many people said that they will replace eth very soon. BTC is the father of cryptocurrency and ETH is the mother of all cryptocurrency. Other projects can co-exist but can not replace each other so easily. Polkadot and eth both networks are developing and evolving so they will co-exist too. If eth dev stops developing that project only then the ETH network will be replaced by some other project In the future which is not so easily going to happen.

Yes, if you look at it there is a possibility, because all Altcoins that are already popular in the market are always competing with one another, but to beat Ethereum which is really strong in general, it will be very difficult for Polkadot to achieve.I don't know why people are saying this.

You are absolutely right that it wont be easy to beat Ethereum as it is a big name in crypto industry. We all know that Nokia was a big name in Cell phones Industry 10 years ago and now nobody talks about it. We are living in a very competitive environment where fittest will survive. Polka dot is offering same what Ethereum offers ( Create smart contracts) but at very low cost. The exponential growth in Gas and transaction fees on Ethereum network are forcing customers to find another alternative. Business is all about cost of doing Business and quality of product. Polka dot network has better features at competitive price so obviously it will attract customers.
Most of the cryptocurrency users haven't even heard about Polkadot. And the OP is claiming that it is going to kill Ethereum. The biggest strength for Ethereum is not its technology. On the other hand, its biggest plus point is its acceptability. Even now, more than 90% of the new tokens are being created in the ERC-20 platform. None of the other platforms can even come close.
even I, just realized that there is a coin called polka dots. well, I don't know what business this coin is in, but its position is currently rank 9 in CMC. Ethereum is a big name in Crypto space and Polka dot will not replace it in a month or two, it will take time but the progress it has made during the past months is very impressive. Its supply is not unlimited like Ethereum and its network has better features. The main utility of Ethereum network is to create smart contracts but Gas and transactions fees have increased exponentially during the past months. This is one of the reasons Polka dot is attracting new businesses.

The ethereum community is too big so it is difficult for Polkadot to compete with ethereum. There have been many projects that have been tried but in the end ethereum is still the best. Maybe in terms of features Polkadot can be said to be able to beat ethereum, but in terms of fans and the amount of support ethereum is still unbeatable. until whenever Polkadot can only be an alternative choice, and will not be number one.
There are no projects right now that can kill ETH or BTC, you should just accept it
IMO not kill it, but cause some disturbance in force for sure. I like polka, hold some and gain nice profit on it.

How, you have thoughts about Polkadot (DOT) can compete with Ethereum what else kills Ethereum, this is very AFAIK and your mind is too narrow in assessing Polkadot coins with Ethereum.

To most issues of Ethereum, Polkadot doesn't have a clear solution. Polkadot isn't bad but it can't scale and Parachains are just a emergency solution to split up network load. But Polkadot has good marketing and tons of money to promote Polkadot. Unfortunately, Polkadot didn't secure ICO funds and most funds were lost in a hack or mistake by team.

Hey mate, how can Polkadot kill Ethereum? By overtaking it on the market? Anyway, I don't think Polkadot is a serious competitor for Ethereum now, it is a new coin. Even Ripple is much better to be counted as a competitor. You must realize that it is still a prediction and Polkadot needs much time to grow to approach Ethereum. Also, overtaking Ethereum doesn't mean killing it. Don't be too much!!

Wait until polkadot has as many project as ethereum and including dexes then we'll talk about this topic again. When the market cap gap is still 15 times apart there's just no point of talking whether polkadot gonna kill ethereum or not.
Polkadot's main concern is to make that platform home to many newly created projects becasue that's the only way to boost the demand for polkadot otherwise just forget it. Ethereum has too much project relies on its blockchain at this point and that's gonna be difficult thing to beat.

Technically Polkadot network is still far from what Ethereum is since the one who created these two is the same person which makes them comparable to each other.
However in terms of popularity and number of investors I doubt that Polkadot could beat the Eth that easy for most investors would rather stay with the one that has already an established foundation instead of trying a new one which could put them into risk for the second time. Due to these reasons, it made me convinced that Polkadot will only become another option instead of being a competitor.
