Well telegram do have some success rate to offer when it comes to icos though.Because ones you have a lot of people on your telegram page, it automatically creates awareness of the project everywhere. But the success has to do with the team and their project plans and well laid down road map and transparency.
what if most people in the group or on the telegram channel were bot? I'm not sure that members in a telegram group are real and keep monitoring the latest news or news that is posted on the post, maybe only a few who see the news. most of the telegram groups are full of bot!

Of course, for the successful marketing of the project, you need a group in telegram with announcements of important events and administrators who know the project in detail. I was under the impression that projects frequently create groups in the telegram only to users wrote messages like, "Whoa, cool project." And when i ask some serious question administrators answer "after clarification from the project team we will contact you". Naturally no one clarifies anything and then does not communicate. It's sad. Sad

Yes, telegram is part of the measure for the success of an ICO. It should be noted that a crowded telegram group is not just enough for the success but a very active telegram group where the investors show interest and ask questions about the project.

I think in 2017 it could be a measure that a  project has a loads of followership or a strong community behind it but right now in 2018 some icos now add bot as members to make the numbers look huge and deceive people. So in my opinon, it is not a meqsure of success.

Been seeing projects' Telegram groups blow up and I think that's an attribute of success. Personally, when I find a project, I do judge them by their social media presence. How active a telegram channel does say a lot with their demand.

With the rise of groups exceeding Telegram's 50k member cap...what do you guys think?

Yes telegram is the new measure of ico since there are a lot of new ico's today that are requiring telegram for them to determine if the participant is a scam or not.

Social media presence is a very bad way to judge the project.
I am not saying that one should neglect this factor but how we all know , it is easy to get a ton of fake or paid followers, reposts, blogs and etc.

Telegram is a measure of Sucess for icos cause icos need a community and most team developers build their community on telegram, from telegram you can tell if the admins of a project are serious or not, it is easier to communicate on telegram than this forum,  you get many active supporters of your projects on telegram. Also many icos run airdrops in telegram so they get lots of new users coming for the airdrops, but  if they like the projects they invest in them as well, and also telegram build trust among investors cause when you see an active telegram group with much people ,you can HV trust in that project and also invest in it

With just one airdrop campain any ico can amess thousands of supporters.so it is not a measure about the icos success but it is a measure for exposure.at least that many people heard its name.

No. A lot of the ICOs force people to enter into their telegram channels by making it mandatory before you can sign up for their signature campaigns, so mostly it is just a lot of people who are there just because they want to do bounties and not because they are interested in investing in it

I don't think so. There are many false accounts in the telegraph group, which may give a false impression to the new investors that the project is very hot. This is actually a misunderstanding.

Telegram made easy business linkages. As a result of this. It has now been perceived that majority ICO currently are now dependent of Telegram for initializing, projecting and adequately actualizing their success dream. Owing to this, Telegram had been a new measure of ICO success because of its immense contribution in the economy.

Before Telegram use to play a great influence in the success of some projects but not bots is talking over some of this channel and the numbers to me don't play the big role in investment decision for me again.

By telegram is still not clear. Yes, already there is a successful product mesenger, there is a good team that has an excellent reputation.
But there is a lot, but ... it's still unclear what they will do at all. Pavel Durov simply announced his plans and raised a large sum from closed investors. This can not be called ico.
Pay attention to EOS for the year of the conducted ico, the team collected 4.2 milliard $. Here is the indicator. But they already have a product.
Telegram is just a PR project.

No because they are able to have airdrops or even buy bots to increase their number of followers. It is only one of the things you should look into. The token economics, the white paper, their concept and their team are far more important.

Although if they have less than 100 people in their group and their ICO is approaching, it's not a good sign as there isn't much hype.

Telegram size may be an indicator of a successful ICO, but it isn’t a definitive indicator. There are some telegram groups that have more than 10,000 members that have no chat going on outside of the mods. This usually happens because they run an airdrop that requires them to join and stay in the telegram to get their tokens. Artificially inflating telegram size can be an impressive thing for investors that may I’ve then confidence in the project.

More important than size is activity and number of active users. Again, this is just a piece of the puzzle that needs to go along with researching the project.

Yes, Telegram is a very convenient messenger, but the success of ICO does not depend on it.Don't forget Linkedin.Investors are mostly here.

I think that this absolutely does not play any role in the success of the project. But still, the more hype around the project, the better for the project itself.

yes I agree with that. But the hype is more important for the ICO than anything, you can also see how active admins are before and after the ICO

I think the telegram group is very important for community building, but many ICOs try to manipulate the numbers by offering somthing just for joining, so is not always reliable in analysing a project.

A few months ago we were able to identify the telegram as a measure of ICO success, but now the telegram subscriber service is making this measurement useless. Currently, I only care about Medium, and I think this will be a new measure.
