No telegram is not a measurement for an ICO success. Telegram only used for communication and the best thing to measure the ICO success is their soft cap.

if I think telegram can be used as a reference measure, because I think when many people are active in the telegram project, we can see a lot of interest in the project, as for other references you can see the progress in a project seen from the information that is always updated on twitter

It is not the only one, but Telegram group of an ICO should be considered. This is the forum that we will know their community that concern with the ICO project. We can count from the amount of the telegram members in the group and how they interact and manage the community. From the telegram, we can see whether the group or the team is live or not. We can also watch the progress of the ICO project and the membership trustworthy.

I think that this absolutely does not play any role in the success of the project. But still, the more hype around the project, the better for the project itself.

I think it's a relative thing, meaning it all depends on why members of the Telegram group are so numerous. For example an ICO project within a month the number of members reaches 20k members. If all members are active members, that means they are all investors, they invest in the project, automatically so as not to miss further information, then it can be said that the project is very good. However, there are times when many members are due to certain programs, such as airdrop and bounty. Many people compete to join the program in order to get a free coin or token. And this can cause when the project goes into the market, the price will drop due to dump. Thus, the number of members of the Telegram group has no major effect on the quality of the ICO project.

It may be said that way. Because the group a telegram of a project that is alive and active, usually indicates that the project is running and can be successful. While her telegram project quiet, never even update info, it could be the project that is a scam. So I agree that the telegram is one of the criteria in selecting a project.

Key success factor to be a sucessfull ico is communicate. Telegram is apps to make interaction between the investors and the devs
its uses build a community and sharing about the project.
but don't just take informations from only Telegram, we must take informations from many sources like withpaper, icobench and etc

Telegram is important in an ICO but its success does not solely depends on it. It helps the ICO to be successful by means of communicating with other people. There are ICO with a good telegram but was not able to succeed. On the other hand, there are ICO with no telegram but still manage to be successful. It really depends on the project itself.

For me, telegram can be one that can measure the ICOs success but it cannot assure us 100%. We can make the telegram as basis also but it just a part of more aspects that we should consider in order for us investors to say that ICOs will be successful.

Not always. Yes telegram is relevant for an ICO in able to be successful but its just one factor. There are a lot even more important factors to consider aside from telegram. Telegram can contributes to the success of an ICO because its one way of communicating to people who are might be a potential investor. Also its easier to inform the community about updates and news about the ICO using telegram.

I think actually Telegram is a measure of success. There are too many people in the telegram from the projects that are airdropped.

I don't think you should always judge the project by the member count in their Telegram. Most of them can be bought or be airdrop participants. Usually you can find out by scrolling far enough in the TG group history

I will say you can not base your decision solely on the number of people in the telegram group. We have seen some "not so good" projects having massive members on telegram just because they are airdropping some tokens

Bear season or just the beginning
I don't think Telegram determines the success and failures of a project. But of course having good numbers of members in a Telegram group is also an advantage as it means there is also heavy interests.

No I don't think so, easy to buy fake telegram members or just do an airdrop and you get 50k over night.

As far as I know, it depends on the member itself.
If the telegram group contains a lot of BOT members, then you can't measure that ICO will succeed.

Been seeing projects' Telegram groups blow up and I think that's an attribute of success. Personally, when I find a project, I do judge them by their social media presence. How active a telegram channel does say a lot with their demand.

With the rise of groups exceeding Telegram's 50k member cap...what do you guys think?

Not a !00% will be base on telegram to measure of the success of the project since many people in the telegram seems to be interested in the project but they never invest on it, so maybe it"s only 40% of the analysis comes from the telegrams and the remaining  60% is in the actual scenario, where we can find the answer and we can judge whether the project is successful or failed .

I don't think it is , i use it to follow some coins. It seems very easy to randomly add people , and most people aren't leaving. And there are probably some other ways to artificially increase the amount of users they have. I'd say Whitepaper, roadmap and team still go before telegram activity.
