It's interesting to see the competition getting fiercer, it makes it harder for a team to win the title, and that's what we all want to see, especially me. If there's only one club dominating, it gets monotonous, and we can already guess who's the champion.
Unlike last season, when Napoli raced ahead of their rivals, it didn't become a monotonous competition, because Napoli themselves had been fasting for the title for so long, and when they returned it became something interesting.
Now the situation will be much more difficult, and there are some names that are indeed favorites. And we can't be sure which of them is the biggest favorite.
With all the competition, being better in the upcoming season and Napoli themselves, and getting a new coach, I highly doubt that they will be able to perform as well as they did in the last season. They were quite consistent in the last season except from a few mistakes here and there. But in this season, they will find it hard. The consistency is going to happen because of the new coach in my opinion. The new coach will need a little time to actually settle with the club. The tactics are going to be different. Not with what Napoli players are accustomed to. But even though it is going to be hard, it is not going to be impossible.
It's a tough task for their new coach, as he's expected to play at his best, and the expectation is that Napoli can do as well as last season, if not better. Pressure like that will definitely exist and if the coach cannot turn that pressure into motivation or in other words he loses with that pressure then they will not be able to play well.
The competition hasn't even started yet and if he can't control it, all he can do is try to ignore it and show that the doubters are wrong.
Most people think the change of coach might affect their performance in the new season, but i think it's quite too early to judge them with that due to the fact that we've not seen them play yet with their new coach, it might take a while for the players to adapt to his style of play but it's a 50/50 chance because we're yet to discover that, however he has the squad and a number of quality players under his control what he just need is to boost their morale with a good strategy that would help them continue with that winning mentality and team spirit they had in the previous season, I don't think the task ahead is going to be hard for Rudi Garcia if he builds a good relationship with his players and have each of them in their rightful position instead of making too much changes that would cause confusion in the team, i like the fact that he's replaced most of the players hed sold with new ones and would also help him as well incase he needs to rotate his players.
Yes you're right it's too early to cast doubt on their coach, and I also agree it's still a 50/50 chance at the moment. But it's not wrong to doubt him, because once again I say that the size or expectations of Napoli are now increasing, given the slick play they showed last season and managed to win the Scudetto after a long title drought.
And again I say, he must show that he can bring Napoli better than last season.
