And Bologna will also faces formidable opponents like Napoli, Juventus, and Genoa, making it difficult for them to gather enough points. Considering the number of matches remaining and the strength of their opponents, Atalanta appears to be in a better position to secure a top-four finish. With four matches left to play and facing relatively easier opponents compared to Roma and Bologna, Atalanta has a higher probability of claiming a coveted spot in the top four of the league standings.

Atalanta is a very strong opponent for bologna because in as much as bologna is progressing on the table Atalanta on the other hand is doing very well and has also gathered enough point to compete with bologna and so far Atalanta has been so consistent and they are currently playing with Marseille and they are leading Marseille 1:0. So perhaps Atalanta may likely have a good chance over bologna because their is no way bologna will win all their matches especially their match against Juventus so is obvious they will lose to Juventus and if they do Atalanta will be their to take over their position. Though whichever way it turn out bologna and Atalanta will still qualify for champions league.

Frankly, I'm not very hopeful about Rome. After Leverkusen, they will go away to Atalanta. They will probably lose points there. The result of this match will be critical to determine the continuation of the league. If Atalanta wins, even Lazio has a chance to overtake Rome. They made a good breakthrough with De Rossi this year, but it will be very difficult to complete these breakthroughs. It is now the end of the league and every team will play with maximum performance.
The Europa League is unpredictable but the higher odds belongs to Bayer Leverkusen since they've maintain unbeaten to this very level of the tournament. They're currently losing 1-0 to AS Roma and its 2-1 on the scores aggregate, we all expects for an epic comeback for Leverkusen since that's typically what they're best known for. AS Roma are not behaving like a club that's desperate to fight for major position on the Seria A table this season. Roma are 6th position on the table and they still have chance to fight to enter the UEFA Champions League next season because FIFA have made it five qualifying team for Seria A and Bundesliga.

Lazio will still have a point left to overtake Roma even if they lost the match to Atalanta. This is a very crucial match and both teams won’t take it lightly but will play their best in order to get a win. We are already coming to an end of the season and they both have a chance to book a spot in the champions league next season. This match is one that can determine the fate of these teams, so I expect the best performance by each team. Tonight, Roma have  Leverkusen to face and if they lose the match, they won’t be so confidence of winning the next one against Atalanta. They need a three goals difference in today’s match to qualify for the finals of the Europa League which in all ramifications looks impossible to achieve.

The most interesting thing is going to be seeing Bologna in the Champions League next season. I assume they wouldn't mess up on the last three weeks.  Grin

I have checked their Champions League history. I have seen they were a part of this tournament in 1960s the last time. The name of the tournament wasn't even "Champions League" those times.  Tongue  Therefore it is going to be a really meaningful success for Bologna. But can they do well in the Champions League? Their current squad doesn't look very promising to progress more. However the tournament format is also going to change so let's see what they can do.
They must be able to ensure that in the last 3 matches they will play they will not slip up. The reason is that if they achieve bad results then maybe they won't be able to be in the Champions League next season. They are only 4 points away from AS Roma who are now in 6th place, with 3 remaining matches there is still a possibility that AS Roma will be able to catch up with them if Bologna suffers at least 2 defeats.
Assuming they will successfully compete in the Champions League next season. I hope they can perform well and be able to compete there, don't let them just be a complementary team. They have to prepare as well as possible so they can talk a lot. But before that happens, they must first focus on the last 3 matches they will play, they must focus on getting points in those matches to enable them to go to the Champions League to accompany Inter Milan and AC Milan who have confirmed that they will be there.
I doubt that Bologna can maintain fourth place until the end of the season, because they still have tough opponents in the remaining three matches, Napoli and Juventus. Of course, this match has the potential to make Bologna lose points again. Bologna made mistakes in the last few matches because they kept losing points due to draws, from the last 5 matches they only won once and drew four times.

So in my opinion, As Roma and Atalanta have great potential to replace Bologna in fourth position, but the one with the most potential is Atalanta because there is still one match left, As Roma has played 35 times while Atalanta has played 34 times. In the next match, the two teams must face each other. This could be said to be a crucial match for both teams because this match will determine their position until the end of the season.

I do not think Roma actually has any chance to finish in a position where they will be able to compete in the Champions League competition in the next season. But it is possible for them to finish in the fifth position and compete in the Europa League. Roma does have a match against Atalanta and if they lose that match, they will probably not be able to finish in the fifth position as well. It is looking tough for them. But I believe they should be able to finish in the fifth position. The problem is they have to think about the Europa League competition as well. So that might be a problem for them, to think about both competitions at the same time.

It seems like Roma might have a tough time securing a top-four finish this season. They have two challenging matches left against Atalanta and Genoa, and it's uncertain if they can emerge victorious in both. If they manage to win these games, they might still have a chance to clinch fourth place, especially if Bologna, their closest competitor, struggles in their remaining fixtures.

And Bologna will also faces formidable opponents like Napoli, Juventus, and Genoa, making it difficult for them to gather enough points. Considering the number of matches remaining and the strength of their opponents, Atalanta appears to be in a better position to secure a top-four finish. Roma can still qualify for any of the European competitions including the Champions League but it will depend on the ability of the club to win all its games and other top teams losing their games. They will keep gunning for a European ticket until the end of the season. If they they fail, however, next season will be a great opportunity for De Rossi to prove his worth.
It only takes 4 points if As Roma wants to enter the Champions League and fully hopes that Bologna will lose so that Roma can catch up on points. If you look at As Roma's game, how do they want to enter the Champions League when in every match they get a draw in their last 2 matches?  , plus having to focus on Leverkusen's match in the Europa Cup is very confusing for As Roma in a situation like this.
I agree that it looks like Roma will probably not go to top four with the way they are playing right now. The scary thing is that they started their De Rossi period quite strongly and that made them think that they made a good decision by getting him, which could be true as well.

However, they started to lose points left and right every week, which means that they could have been at top four already if they won those games and they still ended up failing to win. This means that they are getting worse, and if this is the case for the long term then there is a potential that next year they can start the season with De Rossi, because he had a good start, but then next year they could be bad because it would be more like how it is going right now and not how it did at the start.

Roma doesn't have to finish top four. The fifth position gives them the Champions League qualification as well. That will be new from next season on. This still gives them a fair window of opportunity although Atalanta played one game less, but it is not a hopeless case. If you look at the whole score that De Rossi achieved with Roma, he is still doing quite well. They started dropping points in the wrong moment, but overall he has been doing better than Mourinho. It is still Roma and not Inter Milan or Manchester City. There are limits to what you can do with a team and what not.

Roma burden in the game against Leverkusen is of course very heavy because the game will be a hope for Roma to continue on the path of winning the Europa League this season if they can beat Leverkusen today with a score of 3-0, although they have hope to stay in the Europa League but I think Roma's chances of beating Leverkusen are very small,  In recent weeks Roma have had a difficult and hectic fixture schedule, last week they were matched by Juventus after previously being beaten by Leverkusen in the first leg and after facing Leverkusen today, Roma had to return to a difficult match against Atlanta.

Both teams are still fighting in the Europa League and I think the team that has better squad depth will win the match, yes because after the second leg of the Europa League semi-final, Atlanta and Roma only have 3 days to restore the performance and stamina of their players to be ready to make a very decisive match for both teams, but in my opinion Atlanta has a greater chance of winning the week 36 match later, because Atlanta will play in Italy in the second leg today, while Roma of course have to travel far enough to go to Germany so they have little time to rest, Roma chance of being above Atlanta seems to be difficult especially Atlanta has 1 more game left than Roma at this time.

If Bologna do not extend Thiago Motta's contract or perhaps, Thiago Motta will accept the offer of another team then I believe Thiago Motta's departure will have a bad impact on Bologna next season. Because after all, Thiago Motta's own contract expires at the end of this season and also, based on rumors circulating at least Thiago Motta is also targeted by other teams such as Juventus to replace Allegri's coaching chair. If that happens, then I'm sure next season Bologna will experience not good results because at least, Bologna's success has good performance and results this season because of Thiago Motta's success as a successful head coach for Bologna this season in Serie A.

Even though Bologna is ready to extend Motta contract, Motta will definitely start considering coaching another club. Not only Juventus has been linked with Motta, there is AC Milan who are waiting for confirmation from Porto coach Sergio Conceicao. If Porto is not willing to let Conceicao go, then the next Milan target is Motta.
It will be quite a complicated round of changing coaches starting next season and of course Milan wants to get a coach who is equal in experience. The Porto coach is indeed their current target but it is possible that it will fail if Sergio Conceica still wants to stay in Portugal.

Apart from that, if Motta becomes Milan coach it will boost his career even better with the squad depth being much better than Bologna. He will also get what he wants if he chooses Milan and it all depends on whether this goes smoothly or not. If I were the owner of Milan, then I would prefer Motta to Sergio Conceica.

Roma's match against Leverkusen was quite detrimental, the article lost 2-0 by Leverkusen making them very difficult on aggregate 1 and in the second leg match Roma needs to get more winning goals than Leverkusen if they want to qualify for the final round.

The match against Atalanta in the following week as the determination of As Roma can qualify or not to the champions league, it will be a very interesting match, and again if it does not enter the Champion League, As Roma can pocket the Europa league, there is no disadvantageous position on As Roma in the current situation because below it is also that Lazio has a difference of 4 points, Lazio needs to win two matches if you want to be able to catch As Roma and Atallanta points who have 60 points, As Roma's chances are still quite large for both matches next season.
Today Roma will have a difficult match at home to Bayern Leverkusen, Roma defeat in the first leg certainly makes Roma journey to reach the final round and win the Europa League trophy this season very hard, not because of the aggregate 3 goals they have to chase in the second leg later, maybe if Roma againts other teams in the semifinals this season  of course maybe Roma have high hopes even though they are two goals behind in the first leg,  But unfortunately for Roma if they have to face Leverkusen this season, which even in Olympiaco they lost, especially when later playing at the BayArena, of course it is difficult for roma to just score.

In addition to facing Leverkusen today, of course Roma other difficult match is to face Atlanta next week, the match against Atlanta is certainly also not an easy match for Roma because so far Atlanta has a pretty good performance even though they have the same points at this time, Roma and Atlanta will determine who is entitled to the last Champions League ticket next season,  So Roma should be able to take advantage of the match later to be able to win, but if it fails, of course Atalanta will far leave Roma in the future especially so far Atlanta has one postponed match that they have not played.

It is not easy to chase these four points if Atalanta and Bologna do not experience 2 defeats from the last 3 matches. AS Roma will not be able to get a UCL spot this season if luck is not on their side. Atalanta has one match that has not been played. If they have played it, the difference in points between Atalanta and AS Roma can be beaten by 3 points if Atalanta loses 1 match and draws the remaining three matches, but AS Roma must win the remaining matches.

This will be a very important match for the clubs who are fighting for each other's UCL or UEL spots. They try not to make any mistakes that cause them to regret it, so whichever club can achieve this spot, they really deserve it with quite a difficult challenge, while AS Roma also has to focus in the next match against Bayer Leverkusen.

Rome's current situation has actually become very unfavorable. Because in Serie A they were also moved to 6th place by Atalanta. And in the Europa League, Roma also lost in the first leg to Leverkusen with a score of 0-2. So currently the situation has become quite confusing for Rome itself. But hopes for Roma in the Europa League are also quite slim because they will find it difficult to beat Leverkusen who are superior on aggregate. And maybe in Serie A Roma also has to continue to win the remaining matches if they want to return to 5th place. And actually I heard that tickets to the UCL will increase in the coming season. So if you finish in 5th place, you might get the chance to get a ticket to UCL. And even if you don't get it, you will definitely get a European League ticket. For now Roma just have to focus on today's match in the European league against Leverkusen.

I think with the last two draws they have wasted the chance to qualify for the Champons League. Their last chance is definitely to win 3/3 remaining games, but look at Atalanta and how they have a game in hand. It is a very complicated situation for them. It probably comes down to the game against Atalanta and I doubt that Atalanta will give that one away.

Who knows how it will be looking two weeks from now, but the craziest scenario would be that Juventus loses games and then Bologna plays against them on May 19th. That would be a tough end of the season for all the teams fighting for something.
Roma which was doing good job in last few weeks suddenly having decline in performance with their two draws are surely going to hurt their cause for the qualification of the Champions League which could be big setback for them because we have good improvement in Atlanta performance even they are involved in three competitions but still things are going favourable for them which is going to have big impact on their end of this season.

We have few interesting matches and things which can happen in league table at the end even most chances we will stay with these teams for the top spots with just Roma and Atlanta are having fight for the top fifth spot with most chances Atlanta going to have better chance but still we can expect good, interesting matches which will bring good changes in league table.

I'm not sure, but as far as I know, the top 5 teams in the Italian league next year will play in the Champions League. That's why fifth place is also very important for the Champions League rankings. Roma could be fifth, but to be honest, their situation is very difficult. If Atalanta wins its missing match, it will be 3 points ahead of Rome. They currently have the same points, but Atalanta has played one match less. I think we need to seriously talk about the possibility of Roma finishing the league in sixth place.

Actually, it is very difficult for Roma to be able to compete in the Champions League next season, but the possibility is still there if Atalanta loses two matches so Roma can take advantage of it, but that is a bit impossible if we look at Atalanta at the moment they are very comfortable playing with wins, so I I think that this season As Roma will not finish in the top five and if we look at the European leagues there is no chance there. Leverkusen will not give Roma a chance to win because they are targeting a team that has never lost this season.
With what happened at the end of this season for Atalanta and Roma I don't think Roma has any place to finish in the top five.

Atalanta vs Roma could be the big match this week, where both teams are trying to get tickets to the Champions League, but the chance of this match ending in a draw is wide open, or Atalanta winning three points because the home match will give Atalanta an advantage.
Atalanta seems to have had better results in the last few matches than Roma, but we can see that Atalanta is facing a relatively weak team so they can win three times in a row, but Roma failed to beat Atalanta in the first meeting this season so the match at Atalanta's home ground will be even more difficult for Roma to defeat its opponent.
Currently Atalanta and Roma have the same points in Serie A, but due to the greater goal difference, Atalanta is currently ranked higher than Roma. So this match will be very decisive for both teams, to have a greater chance of getting tickets to compete in the UCL. At Atalanta and Roma's first meeting this season, it was true that the match ended in a draw (1-1), at that time Roma was the host. However, at this meeting, Atalanta will be the host, which will certainly be more profitable for Atalanta. So the Roma players will definitely have to fight extra hard in this match, because if they lose or draw in this match, Roma's path to getting a ticket to the UCL will definitely be even more difficult.

However, if you look at the performance of Roma, currently coached by De Rossi, I think Roma will provide different resistance to Atalanta. The reason is, after De Rossi coached Roma, the performance of his players improved very rapidly. Apart from that, when Roma played against Atalanta in the previous meeting, as far as I remember, Roma was still under the guidance of Mourinho. And under Mourinho, Roma's performance was not good so it was natural that they were held to a draw by Atalanta. However, Roma's performance is now much better than at that time, so the possibility of Roma winning the match against Atalanta is also very big in this match.

In my opinion, the match is probably going to end in a draw. Because I can assume Atalanta is going to play very defensively in that match. Because if they get one point, it is going to be a good result for them. But Roma is definitely going to go for a win. Predicting this match is going to be very complicated. But I have to say the performance that the coach of Roma was able to produce earlier, it is not happening right now. They are not as consistent or performing as well as they were when the coach was just appointed. I think there is a high chance for Roma to not win the match. And if they for some reason, lose the match, which is definitely possible, they might not end up participating in the Europa League. De Rossi is good but probably he was not ready to be the coach of Roma.
