If Bologna do not extend Thiago Motta's contract or perhaps, Thiago Motta will accept the offer of another team then I believe Thiago Motta's departure will have a bad impact on Bologna next season. Because after all, Thiago Motta's own contract expires at the end of this season and also, based on rumors circulating at least Thiago Motta is also targeted by other teams such as Juventus to replace Allegri's coaching chair. If that happens, then I'm sure next season Bologna will experience not good results because at least, Bologna's success has good performance and results this season because of Thiago Motta's success as a successful head coach for Bologna this season in Serie A.

In my opinion, the match is probably going to end in a draw. Because I can assume Atalanta is going to play very defensively in that match. Because if they get one point, it is going to be a good result for them. But Roma is definitely going to go for a win. Predicting this match is going to be very complicated. But I have to say the performance that the coach of Roma was able to produce earlier, it is not happening right now. They are not as consistent or performing as well as they were when the coach was just appointed. I think there is a high chance for Roma to not win the match. And if they for some reason, lose the match, which is definitely possible, they might not end up participating in the Europa League. De Rossi is good but probably he was not ready to be the coach of Roma.

The most interesting thing is going to be seeing Bologna in the Champions League next season. I assume they wouldn't mess up on the last three weeks.  

I have checked their Champions League history. I have seen they were a part of this tournament in 1960s the last time. The name of the tournament wasn't even "Champions League" those times.    Therefore it is going to be a really meaningful success for Bologna. But can they do well in the Champions League? Their current squad doesn't look very promising to progress more. However the tournament format is also going to change so let's see what they can do.

Well it would be a setback for any of the teams fighting for the Champions League qualification in the last few weeks. Napoli and Lazio would have liked to play in the Champions League obviously, but there is now quite a good number of teams that have the potential to qualify for it. Whether Bologna can repeat such a season remains to be seen, but then there are still around 8 teams that are good enough to make the qualification a fair goal for next season.

I believe that Inter's dominance won't be broken anytime soon. Maybe Juventus Turin can make a comeback, but they don't play consistently enough. One problem will be that they can't finance huge transfers I think, but they don't have a top team at the moment. I am not a fan of Vlahovic. If they want to compete with the best, Vlahovic isn't good enough in my opinion, but probably the only option they can stem financially.

It's quite difficult for Roma indeed, of these two options I don't think there is a possible option for Roma. To be able to turn things around against Leverkusen and qualify for the final I think is impossible, whereas to compete for 5th place with Atalanta, you don't just have to beat Atalanta in match this weekend but Roma also have to wait for Talanta to make a few mistakes in the next 2 remaining matches for Roma to take over 5th position, that is really a very burdensome thing.

This weekend's match against Atalanta will also not be easy for Roma because Atalanta, who is playing at home, has much greater motivation and also the performance/quality of the Atalanta team has recently improved drastically.

The 2 options they currently have are both not easy options, because in the European League they have to catch up 2 goals down first before they can turn things around, and chasing 2 goals from a strong club like Leverkusen is not an easy thing for them to do. I think they will also lose again in this match in the second leg and I see only a small chance that they have now.

Meanwhile in Serie A, they have the same points as Atalanta, but Atalanta has 1 match more than them. If Atalanta can secure all the matches they have then they will be determined to finish in 5th position in the standings. As Roma still depends on the results of other clubs' matches to enable them to finish in a position that will take them to the Champions League. I think they really need luck so they can be in the Champions League next season. Because the scenario they currently have is very difficult to realize.

That will be a challenge for De Rossi but it seems that As Roma will play as hard as possible to win in the UEL or in the domestic league against Atalanta because winning those two matches is enough to ensure they are not a weak team, but in my opinion Roma should be more focused on finishing in 5th position and beating Atalanta compared to having to try to beat Leverkusen which of course will drain their energy, because I think As Roma at least has a chance to win against Atalanta.

It's difficult to be a team that has to catch up on two important matches, but De Rossi ensures that As Roma will play as hard as possible in these two matches to be able to prove that they are a strong team, but even though As Roma will fail in the UEL and also not finish in fifth position, De Rossi must continue to coach As Roma next season because it takes time for De Rossi to be able to make As Roma perform even better next season, especially so far since De Rossi has been in charge of As Roma, he has performed with good results compared to when with Mourinho. As Roma can definitely compete next season better than this season.

It could be that Roma will focus more on the domestic league rather than having to chase a 0-2 aggregate against Leverkusen in the Europa League considering that the opportunity to beat Leverkusen at home looks more difficult, because the opportunity to play in the Champions League next season is more open.
However, the condition is that Roma must be able to wipe out the remaining 3 matches with a win, and most importantly this week they must be able to beat Atalanta at home and hope that Bologna loses to Napoli and Juventus.
It is a very tough mission for Roma to reach 4th place in the final standings, because it must be determined by themselves and other teams to be able to achieve it.
However, if this cannot be achieved at the end of the season and only plays in the Europa League next season, then this will be an extraordinary achievement for coach De Rossi considering that De Rossi became Roma coach starting mid-season.

Roma has two options to get into the Champions League: 1.) Win the Europa League 2.) Take 5th place in Serie A. While both options look unlikely, the second option is much more realistic. Therefore, I agree that Roma needs to choose one thing and the best choice is to save maximum energy for the game with Atalanta.
By the way, an interesting option is if Atalanta wins the Europa League and Roma takes 5th place in Serie A, then there will be 6 Italian teams in the Champions League next season.

I do not think Roma actually has any chance to finish in a position where they will be able to compete in the Champions League competition in the next season. But it is possible for them to finish in the fifth position and compete in the Europa League. Roma does have a match against Atalanta and if they lose that match, they will probably not be able to finish in the fifth position as well. It is looking tough for them. But I believe they should be able to finish in the fifth position. The problem is they have to think about the Europa League competition as well. So that might be a problem for them, to think about both competitions at the same time.

If Roma lose, I think they will definitely get it and there is no room for Roma to be able to reverse the aggregate against Leverkusen. It is very difficult to face a very strong team in all competitions and therefore it would be best if it could not be forced then Roma should think about being able to shift Atalana's position in the standings.

That is much more important and let Atalanta focus on both and Roma can take the opportunity to win when Atalanta's players are tired after returning from the European league. I'm curious considering the situation is so similar that we will be given an unexpected surprise to get a place in the champions league at the end of the season.

Situation is very interesting as things are heading for the end of this season we are having drastically changes in performance of few teams with Atlanta is doing good job, and they are having good wins from their last few games which bring them in limelight for the automatic qualification for the Champions League and AS Roma is having decline in performance with now their game against Atlanta is going to be important for their stay into top five.

De Rossi doing good job and deserve another chance at this level with their qualification for the Champions League can give boost to his chances for staying as coach here for one more season Atlanta is also doing good job and having good chance of going into final of the Europa League, and they are already in Copa Italia final which is going to play against Juventus, but their game against Roma is having good limelight as both needs to win and stay at the fifth spot.

I think they were more worried about him being in the third season of his coaching and the track record of him coaching a team in the third season has not been good. Yes of course the results were also not looking very good. So it did make sense that they decided to get a new coach.

But I was very vocal about getting the coach that they have right now. I never thought he was going to be a big improvement. And that’s what I think we can see now. After a coach comes to a club, initially he is able to find good results. Because there is a different level of motivation in the players. But after that "honeymoon phase" is over, it is hard to keep the players as motivated as they were. And that is exactly what is happening in my opinion. But everyone keeps saying that if a coach is given enough time, he is almost always going to bring in better results. Let’s see if that is true or not.

The ability of Roma stopping Leverkusen from scoring more goals actually isn't much of a problem but I think the main issues lay in their ability to be able to make it to the finals by possibly knocking Leverkusen out which by every analysis possible it's not looking like something that could be achieved except if there be some unforseen circumstances of which even in the midst of that Leverkusen still have a mechanism to staying afloat.

Leverkusen is in such a solid form with goal advantages ahead of Roma such that they may actually not even get to really struggle to qualify for the finals even if they get to loose like probably in the fact thst Roma utilizes their home advantage, if we even look at Roma's home performance this season both in their domestic league and the Europa, they haven't been really brilliant but then they have been able to maintain some relative balance in that their losses at home isn't above their home victory and draw but then such inconsistency at home isn't assuring enough to get Leverkusen to halt their journey to the finals of the Europa.

Roma's home advantage will just be to helping them concede lesser goals meanwhile they may be lucky to get a goal aswell but then Leverkusen has got a whole lot to protect to allowing the second leg be a mess so I'm still believing strongly Leverkusen has got a better chance than Roma does even with the fact that Roma will definitely try their best but it wouldn't be enough to stopping Leverkusen or even causing them their records so far.

Signing a contract with a player or a coach, it is a gamble, only smaller or bigger in risk. Every player and coach can succeed in one club but can fail in another club, no guarantee for success.

De Rossi is a best coach for Roma in near future because he loves the club and he shown it through his player career. This means De Rossi will not ask too much from Roma like salary for him, put pressure on the club finance just to satisfy his ambitious players for transfers. With De Rossi, Roma will have more comfortable coach and relationship to work with each other for a long time.

A biggest challenge to end their work relationship is if Roma have very bad performances that exceed acceptable threshold of Roma board members.

Conclusion of this talk is every player and coach have good and bad day José Mourinho was one of the best coach while he was winning trophies and giving his best but currently his strategy is not working which is not allowing him for having big wins like we have with many other coaches in different leagues things are never stay at the same level his performance was not good at Roma which is having no doubt and De Rossi done good job with now two important games are going to give all about can they go for the Champions League, or we are having them again into Europa League which is also not bad but for the better results and having good end of the season they need few quality players which give them good performance and better results which are more important for them and their good future.
