AI is being debated a lot. In my opinion, it will not be able to do everything that humans do, or people will want humans to do some jobs.
Instead of badmouthing AI, I think people should learn to use it well.
There will also be abuse, and over time, it will improve with some protocols. Smiley

AI, robots, technology, automation... and who will build a new roof on my house? Fix my 20 year old car? AI and robots? Although technology is advancing at a high speed and somewhere out there they are printing houses with 3D printers, it is all far from us ordinary people. There is already a problem with the workforce, with craftsmen who really know their job... and that problem is only going to grow. I think that soon there won't be people who can and want to really do something, people will be "imported" from underdeveloped countries (which is already happening), but most of them are inexperienced and don't know how to hold a hammer in their hands, much less how to drive a nail.

Don't get me wrong, this whole AI future sounds interesting... but the focus should be on people and humanity if we really want a better future for the whole world and all the people in this world.
I think it's easy to say and hard to do if you talk to a company and they will agree with you but it will cost you a lot of money because you mentioned robots. AI can only map the thing for you, plus it won't help you build your house.  If you pay money, what out-of-this-world things are going on?  You only have to pay money for this, then everything will be imported and delivered to you.  Humanity must exist because most people help each other because of it.  If the robot goes away, people like us who don't like work will be doomed because laziness is a very bad thing, it makes us weak and careless.  AI is not that bad if it is used for good purposes only it is useful otherwise people are also misusing it in its era.

You are right, definitely the government will know how to balance up things, else there's going to be a great recession and starvation by the growing population. The government should know what to do by then if such issue becomes significant.

It has already been noted that jobs of humans will not totally be eliminated because other job opportunity will still be created. Before now, emails and letters were sent through post office but now it is made easy that you can just send mail through your phone, & to do that with your phone, you will still be the one to type the message on the mail. It's not that human action is not required.

AI isn't going to take jobs from people as mentioned like so, rather it will reshape the flexibility in jobs and make life easier and more efficient for people. A work that will ordinarily take you days to execute might end up being carried out in few hours with the use of AI to execute repetitive actions, manufacturing jobs and basic customer services. The manufacturing industry for instance can be more effective and faster if you have AI to assist the workers in human risk prone areas and in maintaining accuracy as well.

But while AI can greatly assist you in the automation of some of the tasks to make your work easier, AI cannot take certain things from humans, an example of this could be emotional intelligence, complex decision making processes and some complex creative jobs wh8ch will require your intuition and high brain work cannot be executed smoothly by the AI.

There's this American movie I watch which they were trying to shows us how it is possible that some AI can function with neuroscience, that's to say, they created an AI that can mimic every steps or move you make. For example, if you are close to the robot and you raise up you hands, it will do that same thing you did. After watching that movie, I saw a video on social media where a man was using that kind of AI to harvest carrots and potatoes in his farm. What happened was that, as the man was busy harvesting some carrots, the robot was just taking exactly same action that the man was doing and was also harvesting carrots too.

These means that there is steady improvement in the development of AI and with time, if every company can afford to buy this robots, they will actually go for it, to reduce costs of paying workers which will reduce the rate of employment by private companies but I think government jobs will still be available because the government can not allow people to suffer without any source of income.

This is already happening, AI is gradually replacing humans in certain fields and positions, but that does not mean it will push many people into unemployment or job loss. As technology develops it will change everything, some old jobs will be eliminated but it will create some new jobs for the world because this world cannot function without human intervention.

Not to mention, the government will know how to balance things because as you know, as the population continues to increase and if the unemployment rate increases, it will not be beneficial for the country at all. Social evils are created from that and I think they know that very well so there is no need to worry too much as AI becomes more and more present in our lives. There will always be a balance between humans and AI and governments will create that balance.

You are right, definitely the government will know how to balance up things, else there's going to be a great recession and starvation by the growing population. The government should know what to do by then if such issue becomes significant.

When the first machine was invented, people thought workers could take it easy. But what happened? More factories appeared, the workload increased, and capitalists were all smiles, while workers still had to toil away. When computers first came out, we thought we could say goodbye to pen and paper. But what happened? Now, we can't even go to the bathroom without taking our laptops, afraid of missing an email. And don't even get me started on phones—we thought they would broaden our horizons, but our view has shrunk to the size of a screen. Many jobs are now completed with AI assistance, and tasks that used to take three days now have to be done in one. Keynes once said that by the end of the 20th century, technological advancement would reduce the average workweek to 15 hours, but maybe only the Nordic countries have achieved that.
In as much as the ai technology is taking away the need for human labor, it's still a great technology which might in the future be more relevant in our society. We see how these ai performs task that takes us lot of time to do research, compile, recheck before making our conclusions in less than a minute. I've said this in one of my post before now, the world needs technology but it not how we imagined it would be. They are becoming smaller and smaller by the day. Probably we might even be going back to the old techs sooner than we think as these tiny techs might make things a bit boring for us all..

AI not only has accelerated work pace and people now expect to see quicker results. But it's also giving them better tools with which to manage their workload, 90% of power users of AI say that it makes their job more manageable and enjoyable. Also, although it often seems that tech has brought in its share of stress, one thing to note is that AI is genuinely helping people concentrate on more important things by doing the routine tasks. Thus, while some challenges do exist, the overall effect of AI is not just an increase in work but equally a chance to reconsider how we work and make most tasks easier.

Indeed some jobs will end but other jobs will be created, the problem will be if new jobs are rare here the competition will be high and the pay will be very low but as long as you develop yourself you will always find a suitable job. The current problem is that the more development increases the more difficult it will be to access resources due to the population of the Earth which means that the quality of some things like food and water will decrease in return for the increase in working hours and the slowness of jobs.
this other job will certainly be rare.

most of AI are created with efficiency in mind, and this efficiency means cutting costs on the spending for the employee side, I don't believe AI will create that much job since it will be pointless and if efficiency that was expected wasn't meet, then company won't migrate into using AI. its pretty obvious what direction we're gonna be taking. but surely that small amount of job that gonna get created will pays huge amount of money but it needs specialization that not everyone can get.

I guess that's how the gap between poor and rich will be created all over again, but i'm sure there will be regulation to keep such problem from arising.

Email protocol was first invented in the 70's or 60's I think, its amazing how back dated we are with the technology and something like AI to advance general usage is well over due.   Emails, spam and the general misuse resembles the problems of the system it replaced, efficiency is key and AI should be about that improvement more then anything else.  Its a requirement more then a question.

We should not be so reliant on old tech when computers are capable of far better but the biggest reason why is the usability and reliability of use of those products which might try and replace these old systems.   AI is just the polish not the substance imo, people will still matter far more and exceed the ability of computers in unique ways but iterative computation with repetitive tasks is where automation thrives.

In reality, no matter how advance technology will ever be, the place of human can not be totally nulled. As more ai are been produced, more programmers will be needed to care for the technology thereby creating another job opportunities at the expense of other jobs. There are jobs that Can never  go to ai, business that requires buying and selling of physical product will not go to ai.

The fact remains that ai can malfunction and that can also be cost effective in some cases. AI is finding place in sophisticated technology for now but as we speak, how many ai taking the place of humans.

AI like any other thing can be used or abused. Technology is not our enemy, but a tool. If you're overwhelmed by it, feel like everybody is attached to their phones all the time and browses the Internet all day, refuse to do it, don't play their game. Let them get distracted and you focus on what's important like your family and health.

There are always people who fall into these traps and those who don't. I live in a house near the woods, far from the noise of the city. I have the Internet of course, but I spend half of the day outside. I'm not afraid of AI. What can it do to me? 10 years from now I'm not going to be looking for a job, but retirement, especially if I keep holding bitcoin for that long.

So what you would really be liking  to do? Stopping nor that having that slowing down when it comes to progress? We do know that advancement will really be not stopping considering that human beings would really be
non stopping on searching or investing things on which they do seem that will really be beneficial to human kind. Yes, it does have pro's but expect that there would really be things that would be affected.
Dont mind serious too much about those speculative approach on trying it out on making it as a conclusion on which we know that there's no way that it could sure out that those words that comes out into their mouth
will really be that definitely be the thing that will happen in the future. If you are really that expecting that technological advancement turned out to be a failure then we arent that blind on not to see about its usefulness.

Everything had become that efficient and accessible. If it does make more jobs? Then so what? We arent living in a world on where all people turned out to be employers or who do own a company.
There would really be those people who would working under them. Come in mind that there might be tons of works been done but having the help of these development then it does really
ease out those jobs and more time efficient.

Surely AI will not be able to take all the Jobs as some people would want to think, there are still some positions that will be occupied by humans with special skills. Workers occupying positions in industries and companies that know that their job position is at risk of being taken over by an artificial intelligence have to start making plans from now to either develop their skills further to make them indispensable in the company or seek better skills. While others trying to learn a new skill and then focusing on skills that AI can do already are focusing on the wrong thing.

To an extent there is some sense in what you are trying to say, but one thing you must understand is that, technological advancement over the years has been to assist the human race in achieving some of the set goals. The artificial intelligence was not created to make job go into extincts for human beings, it was a tool that was created to help mankind to make jobs and other things easy. so we should understand that there are jobs that are designated for human beings which AI cannot do, a very good example is a judge of a court, a structural and building engineer, a Detective and a whole lot more. My point is, we human beings can create jobs specifically for AI's and Robots and we can always makes jobs available for humans, making both of them go in pari Passu. we shouldn't also forget that even the AI's are been manned and controlled by human beings.

In anything, they will most likely be an advantage and disadvantage, although it has been discussed here before the effects that AI technology is capable of doing to some of our daily routine jobs. Actually, AI technology has been a huge advantage that will affect not only the jobs but also the students in school; most of them now use AI to get their answers, which will make them so weak to conduct good research. Although that is not what we are discussing now, the main focus is the effect that AI technology is capable of doing in the near future, which will be capable of increasing inflation around the globe because it will be hard for some less educated people to get jobs again, and that will be able to cause more poverty to them. My fear is that AI technology shouldn’t take over the regulations of the world.

Actually that's what the government want to see.

Unemployment increase, it make people who already have a job get pressure to work harder or agree to receive less salary because there are many people who willing to take their position, business will be profitable because they can pay as low as they can and they can maximize the profit.

Government really like to see people who life miserable and willing to do anything for small money.

When the first machine was invented, people thought workers could take it easy.
I am pretty sure that workers were not happy at all about the invention of different machineries and other technology advancements. Women in America only started to claim their rights when they no longer felt useful at home since there were too many machines being invented already. Since women back then only had one job and that is being at home doing household chores, they felt like with all the machineries invented they should be able to do more with their lives and contribute to the society in more ways than a machine can do. I know this is just one perspective from a very specific demographic, but I can say that this says enough about how people generally viewed advancements. They were threats to people who did their job before them.

Not only are we becoming more dependent and reliant on assistance, but we are also literally not using our own brains anymore. There is a clear difference between comprehension skills of people from before compared to people of today's time and I actually think we can blame this on to AI and other technological assistance.

The advent of tech just made more people think more, do more, and want more, hence why the more jobs that were made. Definitely think AI will do the same but rather than more work, it just opens up more possibilities for people to go for creative work/research work since menial work can easily be done now.

As for the detriments of tech, that's more on how people grew up with it more than anything really. I'd hardly blame tech imo and given the choice of whether tech should've happened or not, 100% would always say that it should always have happened instead of not at all.

AI is really threatening and many of the simple jobs will be taken over by them. But AI, is going to make a lot of jobs more productive when they use it appropriately.

While many see it as a threat, just upgrade your skills so that you won't feel threatened by its emergence.

I think that the time will come as well that many of the jobs will come back to the traditions and people would have simpler life and still able to achieve work-life balance.
AI may bring some changes to our current job performance but we fail to realize that without us human beings, this AI will also no longer come into possibility. AI needs us to do the application and become the main tools to achieve its goal, that’s why we need not to worry and compete with AI existence. Just level up and upgrade to ride with this fast improving AI, as changes could happen constantly so you have to adopt with it.

Wow! It's always amazing When talking about this machine AI. Technology has really helped humanity. Before this we had the aeroplane, the mobile phones we are using to reach out to one another today .The thing is that the AI machine is not seen every where like the mobile phones, for people to purchase for usage. I would have love to use it for a poultry worker, like packing the derm bird excreter for me in my country.
