Hopefully this update won't take months - we really need something [soon] to differentiate iXcoin from Bitcoin et al.

The update you're hoping for doesn't differentiate iXcoin from Bitcoin by any means, it would merely update iXcoin to the latest Bitcoin core which is nothing special.

You haven't been paying attention.

Sorry to say this, but the update you're hoping for doesn't differentiate iXcoin from Bitcoin by any means, it would merely update iXcoin to the latest Bitcoin core which is nothing special.

Then you're saved.

I'm sure you can find some hot coins out there with sweet features to put your money into.  iXcoin is too risky by the sounds of it and it's not even anonymous and doesn't even have PoS.

I'm not looking for any coins. Wink

and generally as good as nobody is interested in "IXC", on an average day its volume is about 2 BTC.
It's best you sell any IXC you may have and run away.

if nmc, dev or i0 coin have not updated to 9.2 it is no copy and paste job with just a change in the magic numbers,
the aux pow has to be rewritten , certainly would be a challenge , i was looking over 9.2 and built it last weekend, many things have changed in btc and the current source of iX does not use the chainparams.h and chainparams.cpp style so its a big step.

Thanks for your input, cinnamon.

Precisely!

It's best you sell any IXC you may have and run away.

Only a crazy person [like me] would buy iXcoin.

Good thing you put two and two together, eh?

Well look at that, Zebedee and our heroes are back, to save us from ourselves and our bad investment [again].

Bhahahaaaa.

Hey geniuses, do you think that maybe, just maybe, CEX.io knows something you don't?

And if so, do you think that [maybe] I know something you don't?

I'd hurry up and pay any price necessary to buy the iXcoin blocks you're looking for.

[You've got less time than you realize]

 Cheers!

can someone please tell me what possible purpose IX coin has and why on earth anyone would actually want it?

i dont get it?

i'm being serious here, if someone has a good argument then i'll happily buy some.

it seems pretty pointless to me, a BTC copy with no marketing, no market uptake, no innovation, no nothing....have i missed something?

No dude, you have the full story.

But there is a very amusing circle-jerk thread on the bitcoin forums and it seems you found it.

October will be fun - once ghash.io drops it there will never be a block found again, because of the insane difficulty!

Not that there were any transactions to mine anyway, so that will at least be a peaceful and harmonious end.

Hi all,

I'm offering a 50K IXC bounty for anyone who updates the Ixcoin client to Bitcoin Core 0.9.2.1 and compiles it for Mac, Windows, Linux 32/64 + Ubuntu PPA.

Bounty will only be paid if all binaries of the updated source (Win, Mac, Linux) are delivered, correct? What's the deadline?

Yes. Updated binaries and source.

There is no deadline. Howveer if a new update of Bitcoin Core comes out before the new IXC client is released, the release should be updated to the latest Bitcoin Core code.

Friction,

About the ATM, I'll keep you posted.

I'm on a tight budget so there's little I can do now but I have a feeling Bitcoin is about to pop and then I should hopefully have more money to work with.

If the money issue clears up then yeah, I'd love some help rolling out multiple ATMs.

Thanks!

THOMAS, our Satoshi Twin!!!

You're still alive, man?!??  Haha!

Thanks for posting that request and the bounty.  I'm really glad you're still around and trying to help but I really don't understand why you're gone 99% of the time and you refuse to answer some very simple questions from various community members.

It looks like we may go to the majors next month, it would be nice to have you around when you're needed.

Thanks again for coming back...[again].  ; )

P.S. - if you're gonna be gone 6 months again it would be nice to have access to the .org site so we can look a bit more official and organized.  We have 3 different sites now, it's just really Mickey Mouse.

What a good news coming from Nasakioto and Friction.

@Friction: is it realistic to think we will get this update ready before the Coinsummit?

Thanks

That would be a miracle but I think he can do it.

It would be great to go into that summit fully updated and with more features than Bitcoin.

He posts that stuff like mad, always on about Jesus.

You got some info on those ATM's?

Do you know who he is or anything about him?

The best ATMs I found are Lamassu but they cost ~$6,000.  I thought they were $1,800 but they quoted me wrong, quoting just the Stand.

There are cheaper ones but it seems Lamassu is the best.  Robocoin as well but those are $20,000.

So it's way out of our budget.  My plan was If IXC goes up that I would personally try to put an ATM in every state in the US and then move across the pond to Europe but if we can do a fund raiser then maybe we can get it done more quickly.

There's also a company called expresscoin.com who can take care of all the licensing and even maintenance and so on.

From my research, in the US, a very good location grosses ~$150,000 per month in Bitcoin volume, a good location ~$100,000 and a fair location ~$50,000.

I expect as the Bitcoin price sky rockets and the masses come in that a very good location can do upwards of 10 times that, or roughly $1 million per month, at least until there's a saturation of ATMs.

The best part is that these machines are open source so we can instal IXC side by side with BTC so we can make our money back off BTC sales while offering a distribution network for iXcoin (and possibly other coins as well).

That's what I have so far.

I just happen to have a Bitcoin ATM that I purchased recently.   I really don't have any use for this, however it can be modified to process IXC instead of Bitcoin.

Let me know if anyone is interested in creating a version to support alternate currencies like IXC.

Vlad, if you are working on getting a State money exchanger license, then we could partner on this.
