Well, it turns out that the OP_RETURN with metadata is not enabled on our 0.8.6 client and will work only on a 0.9.0 client.    I will check if the multi-sig version is available for 0.8.6 and see if we can go with that.

Anyway,  CEX.IO involvement is critical to get the features we want into IXC.   Without them, we are essentially unnable to make an upgrade.

Since we need to upgrade to version 0.9.0 anyway to get OP_RETURN, we should go ahead and add IXC escrow!!!  Kill two birds with one coin.  It's hard enough getting CEX.io to upgrade.  Imagine trying to do it twice!

Friction,

Under what section did you put the bounty for the new logo design?

You got great results so I wanna do whatever you did last time.

Thanks!

I'm gonna offer 500 IXC for the i symbol design [winner] and 500 IXC for the X symbol design [winner].

That's the 1,000 IXC Johnny has offered as bounty.

Hopefully that's good enough cause that's all we have.

Guys, we need to vote for which domain you prefer for the official Foundation site:  dot org or dot com, I own both so choose whichever you like.

To be a little exaggerated:
At the back of peoples mind  ".com " is "USA, economy, regulated market" = secure and order.  In contrast "org" is more like "association, not (so) commercial, international waters Wink " = free-for-all (anarchy).

 Each has advantages and disadvantages

Guys, we need to vote for which domain you prefer for the official Foundation site:  dot org or dot com, I own both so choose whichever you like.

Also, we need a 1 letter symbol for our actual currency symbol.  We have some flexibility since our wallets start with an X.  So we can either use an i or an X.

So let's get some votes on which letter people prefer and then design our currency symbol.

The actual IXC logo which friction commissioned looks great and can be used on websites, print ads and in stores, but we need a 1 letter symbol and we need it soon.

Friction, so you know where those guys are, that did our logo, they were total pros, can they help is again?

We have 1,000 iXcoins from JohnnyBTCseed to work with, maybe we can get a few nice i and X currency symbols to compare and then choose the best one.

What do you guys think?

Johnny, you good with spending that 1,000 IXC on a currency symbol, or at least part of it?  Friction paid 100 IXC for the logo but I'm not sure what kind of talent we'll get for that little.

Let me know and please guys, we need active input.  This is your money at work, please speak up and tell us what you like and what you don't like and vote on everything we're working on.

Thanks!

just do it.

if you want some design done, just create a new thread and offer a prize.

that is what i did,  spent 250 IXC.  3 prizes.

Does anyone know how to make a personalized iXcoin wallet?

I'd like to have a foundation wallet where all bounty donations to for future projects.  That way we don't have to keep tracking people down all the time to ask for their bounty pledges, weeks or months later.

To be safe we should also make the wallet multi sig, or something where 3 foundation members have to sign off on any release of funds.

An easily recognizable wallet like:  xCoin7Hjds.... Or anything which is catchy and easy to remember.

Thanks.

Well done, Friction. Thank you.

It took you a lot of time to decide. But you finally accepted.

I knew you were not here just for money.

Your support is really appreciated.

I like the merged mining.  I'll add 10,000 IXC to the bounty for the Ixcoin client upgrade.

Here is the final 10,000 IXC of Friction's bounty. I will send this member a PM.

JohnnyBTCseed,

You also pledged an unnamed amount of bounty which will obviously not be needed for this particular update since we already have the necessary 25,000 IXC.

But keep those coins you've already pledged in mind and we can use them for whatever update or project comes up next.

Thanks.

As stated from the very begining, I am trying to raise 25K IXC to port CounterParty over to IXC.
You've already been pledged the full 25K haven't you? And been paid some (the 10k from me at least). Or do you mean another 25K? (This is not a criticism, just seeking clarification if you need more funds).

Friction was paid 15,000 IXC and the other 10,000 was pledged but not yet collected.

Either way, 15,000 is enough to at least get the code done.  I'll look for that other individual who offered 10,000 and ask him to pay but I think he's waiting for a final product since last time it took a long time to get the final code update.

The end of the month is nearly here, friction, can you give us a status update on how far along you are on this CounterParty Update?

Thanks!

Vircurex is one of the best places to provide "backing" for coins such as IXCoin, as one can sit bitcoins and/or litecoins in offers long term providing a constant price-floor.

Sure that price-floor is temporarily gone due to having been frozen but hopefully over time it will build back up again.

Also, massive numbers of hours went into building huge sell-sides too, I don't really see much point in dismantling the thousands upon thousands of sell-side offers on one exchange just to move them somewhere else to be equally likely to vanish. That'd lose hundreds more hours of work in addition to the coins.

I just talked to Jeffery from CEX.io and when he's got a chance I expect him to post something here, as confirmation.  He's a very busy guy and so we have to be patient.

Hey everyone,

We hereby confirm that Jeffrey Smith, the CIO of CEX.IO accepted the board seat of the Ixcoin project.
CEX.IO has already implemented IXC merged mining on the platform.
We are now working on implementing trading of other coins, IXC being one of our top priorities.

If there is anything we can help, or any assistance is required - be sure to send a message here, or email directly to j.smith[at]cex.io

Best Regards,
CEX.IO

We have some really smart people on this thread right now, so let's put it to some good use.

Assuming we have the cooperation of CEX.io [which we do] - what's the best CounterParty code update option?

Until now, this option was but a dream so lets see if the final solution has now improved.

Let's do this: Let's make iXcoin more advanced, and a better, more complete Payment System than Bitcoin.

The best option:

My recomendation is to add escrow natively to iXcoin before or with the Counterparty update.  If we have the capability to escrow IXC then we can add any financial platform to use IXC as its core currency.

My fear is if we add IXC escrow later the market will have already chosen a Counterparty asset as a standard and it will be hard to change.  Basically, it will be almost the same as using the metacoin from the start.

IXC escrow should also allow the complete Counterparty function set to be implemented.  Again, if we eliminate betting, someone else may setup a betting proxy asset and beat us to the punch before IXC is installed in this role.

That makes perfect sense to my very limited software understanding.

Friction?

Jamaer?

Anyone?

Buehler?

Ixcoin was added to Ecoinfund this week.  They are in Nanjing, China.

Wow, a Chinese Exchange.  NICE.  Are these exchanges well funded and reputable or are they more scammer exchanges looking at making a quick million before getting "hacked"?

I hope they're legit cause we've had enough robberies in this industry and surrounding Bitcoin.

I disagree.... ban Vircurex!

How exactly do you ban someone (anyone) from using a decentralized currency?  I mean does that even make sense in your mind?  Please state specifically what would be done to prevent someone from accepting the currency.

Hahahaa.

D&T, long time no see, brother.

I think he meant to force Vircurex from trading IXC on their site.

There's no way to actually stop them, I think friction suggests that if we insisted that vircurex would simply comply.

If it were my exchange I would not remove any currency which I deemed important to my business and customer base.

Besides that, how you been?  Are you ready for the next boom later this summer?  And especially the mother of all Crypto [ETF) booms next year?  Next year's boom should be bigger than all the crypto boom so far, combined.  I really can't wait.

Good luck!
