How about a block explorer?

We use to have one or two, but they seem defunct now. Anyone interested? There's a 20K IXC bounty.

I'm willing to do that, please point me an official newest client to download, better with source code.

Latest client and source should be at http://ixcoin.org/
Is this website: http://ixcoin.org/; I download and have a look.

Vircurex is a dead exchange.... too many people have had their coins confiscated by the exchange.

I'm not going near that exchange with a 30 foot pole.

I'm not either, the risk is too high but that's what makes this so interesting.  A whale with 500,000 IXC would know better than to sell all his IXC on Vircurex, unless that massive iXcoin block is being used to just scare everyone out of buying IXC.

Well, if that's the goal, it's working pretty well.

Anybody still think that massive 500,000 IXC sell order on Vircurex belongs to Vircurex?

Just as predicted, not a single coin has been sold [lost], but it has served the purpose of scaring away any new buyers seeing how it appears a big [all knowing] whale is dumping a massive amount of iXcoin.

I emailed Vircurex about the huge block and told them if it was theirs I would gladly buy the whole thing off the books and in 3 days I have received no response, which in my mind confirms that block doesn't belong to Vircurex [and Vircurex still has very shitty customer service.]

Just downloaded the wallet - but how to secure/ encrypt? Where can i set a password?

If you're talking about the old wallet version 0.3.24, you can't set a password or encrypt.  On the new wallet 0.8.6 you can.

THANKS!!

btw: Someone should delete the old one from the official side.

This was just posted on twitter by the Bitcoin Foundation.

@BTCFoundation: .@pmarca: Bitcoin will leave libertarian roots: "smart people in gov figured out #Bitcoin is an immense tool" http://t.co/NATQ4SgDXG

Exactly what I've been saying from day one.  The billionaire VC, Andresseen is just now figuring this out. I wonder where the sheep will run to?

Is there a download for the new client available?

As far as I can see Ixcoin.eu is still linking to the old wallet.

New client iXcoin 0.8.6 link is here.

my antivirus says   FrictionlessMiner.Trj.CWin32   !?

Ha Ha.  I don't think so.

Has anyone actually asked the pools why they don't upgrade?  And if they've tested merged mining?  Maybe they would have some valuable feedback.
updating software on pools is risky. if the upgrade results in the loss of a block, or worse a bitcoin block, the pool can be substantially out of pocket.

has merge mining with the new client been tested? it should be easy to run a difficulty 1 'ixcoin in a box' network with old and new clients and make sure they accept each others blocks.

I assume they would not have to convert all their mining cores to the new client at once.  Maybe just take 1% and run their tests to see if it works as advertised.  I'm still wondering if any of the pools actually tried it yet.

Is that something you are willing to do and let us know if it works?  Maybe it would give the pools some incentive to accept the client if it works ok.

I help you people that want to recover what you lost cause this coin, I Buy 300,000 Ixcoin for $80, i like to help people.

Haha.  I'll pay double that and kiss your feet.  lol.

If you look at most other alts they're down a lot more than IXC.
This is when you buy but many are freaking out.  These coins will make new all-time highs before the year is over.  They're going much much higher.

good luck man!

You too.

I always told everyone to diversify and not follow my all-in tactic with IXC.

There's lots of ridiculously cheap coins right now.  When BTC breaches $400 we should get mass capitulation[a massive sudden drop] and then a very quick massive bounce so buy all the BTC you can right there and then buy the alt coins which have been beaten up the most.  A 10-fold return is pretty much a guarantee and if Bitcoin pops hard, which I think it will, you can make a lot more.

Good luck!

so IXC is now completely dead... vlad2vlad did u cash out before the crash or are u still waiting for something thatll never happen?

Funny guy.

I haven't sold a single coin and on the contrary, I bought about $5,000 worth [this year] at an average of around 13,000 Satoshi.  I thought it was a sweet deal but obviously it's not looking that sweet right now.

I said a month ago Bitcoin would breach $400 on banker manipulation and it's looking like it's gonna happen in the next few days.  That's a strong buy and it would be wise to diversify those BTCs via multiple alt coins.

So I'm very much still long and I still think IXC will be one of the biggest alt coin stories this year.
