NewsFlash:

Mt Gox just found 200,000 Bitcoins.

What a laugh.

I said a week ago when they brought in those 2 outsiders that they were not merely advisers but they were there to take the 2 empty board seats.  The board will prove to have lied to us in the next few months.

I also said they were being placed by the $80 billion Koch brothers and that in return for 2 vacant board seats they would refund the missing $500 million in Bitcoins.

And lo and behold, just a week later Karpeles finds 200,000 Bitcoins like one finds a missing pair of socks.

Lol, watch more coins turn up soon and within 2-3 months the 2 outsiders will definitely take the empty board seats.

This is good because the Koch bros are anti big governments and anti Obama so they'll stop the attempted govt takeover of Bitcoin.  The bad thing is that people will eventually see this and will look for a more decentralized coin and ixCoin fits the best.

The bad is that the govt and banks must know that this war with the Koch Bros is gonna take years to win and they don't have that kind of time so they should then move into IXC and I personally think they already had IXC set up as plan B; just in case some unforeseen problems would arise with Bitcoin.

I don't really care since I saw these coins for what they really were from day one.  So hang on, the most powerful and richest men on the planet have ascended on CryptoWorld and there's gonna be some massive moving and shaking in the coming months as they battle for position within the next global monetary system.

HUGE gains coming for certain coins and Bitcoin should at least blow thru $2,000.

Ixcoin disappeared from http://coinmarketcap.com  Huh

That happens all the time with all coins on there.  Give it a few hours and it should be back.

Edit:

I just found iXcoin on Coinmarketcap.  It's been moved to a separate list called:  Low Volume list.

Is the guy running that site and idiot?  The title of his site is MARKET CAP.  Maybe he's not aware of the meaning but its got nothing to do with low volume or high volume.  iXcoin's MARKET CAP is at nearly $1 million and the idiot has it on a separate list with all the newbie coins worth a few grand.

Another monopoly [just like Bitcointalk] in desperate need of some healthy competition.

I can't believe we totally missed the need for an actual currency symbol.

Thanks luke.

Now, where are those guys who designed our professional logo?  I'd love to see what they can come up with for a currency symbol.

Beware: like in the case of Bitcoin, the new ixc logo needs to address an issue about the short simbol to represent the coin: http://bitcoinsymbol.org

That's a good point to raise. Maybe a sort of bastardization of the infinity sign? Perhaps ixc in small font where the individual letters are discernible but tends to look like an infinity at first glance - with a slash through it.

Otherwise I or X to contrast the B.

That's what seems to make the most sense to me.

Most coins haven't bothered to get a symbol, it would do a lot for the image of being the rival to bitcoin.

Luke,

When will we have an official press release to announce the new website and logos?  I know friction had prepared one right before you arrived but that was put off given we had a newer and better website coming.

Also, any news about the android wallets?  I haven't checked the tricenda site lately but I know that deadline expired and you hadn't received any wallet submissions yet.  Hoping that's changed by now so we can do a full and proper relaunch.

Thanks.

I guess they are busy examining the new update to Bitcoin Core 0.9.0:

a faster wallet GUI
fixes relating to Transaction Malleability
improvements to blockchain handling and storage
a lower network relay fee
many protocol changes and optimizations

---------------------

Beware: like in the case of Bitcoin, the new ixc logo needs to address an issue about the short simbol to represent the coin: http://bitcoinsymbol.org

Excellent.  We'll be looking forward to an iXcoin upgrade to the latest version of Bitcoin Core.

I tried to get an opinion on this subject from DVC community, but no answer so far.

I ask your opinion: is it legal a statement like this?

"CryptoALTeX was designed to facilitate the trading of alternate cryptocurrencies. By registering for an account you agree to not hold CryptoALTex responsible for any funds lost due to bugs, network delays, or third party malicious behavior."

Now you can cast your vote for IXC here https://www.cryptoaltex.com/index.php?page=newcoin , I wonder if it's a wise choice.

It seems nothing has been learned from MtGox's fall.

If the statement above is legal, well, why bother to trade cryptos. I could start an exchange with a bug. I ask my hacker-friend to take advantage of this bug. All the coins will disappear. I am not guilty. I retire with my money, well  my clients' money.

I think we still live in a wild wild west scenario for cryptos.

That's a legal statement.  You're agreeing to all of the risks involved upfront.  It would be illegal or non-enforceable if any illegalities were involved or willful neglect but in this case they're simply telling you all the risks associated with crypto trading which by now are common knowledge and generally accepted by the majority in this industry.

So yes, invest at your own risk and try to choose a US based exchange which has been around a while.

This conversation reveals something about Cex.io point of view on altcoins

https://support.cex.io/hc/communities/public/questions/200819993-Merge-mining-MazaCoin
mazacoin isn't merge mineable so it'd be impressive if it got working on cex.io. yes, the maza website says it is supporting mm but the source code says otherwise.

That's true.  Why choose iXcoin when there's so many hot, new and popular coins out there and more coming out daily?

Still doesn't add up.

I'm still wondering why of all coins, someone tried cheating on iXcoin votes on CoinPayments.  https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.5427646

I saw that.  That's never happened before with ixc.  iXcoin has pretty much been rhe invisible coin nobody cared about and now we have bots voting and someone paying a lot to get it listed on yet one more exchange?

I like it but I'd love to know what's going on.

It's seems ixcoin is gonna make it on Mintpal within a few days. It has a daily volume of 1k btc, not bad for a new exchange.
My guess: someone paid at least 2-3 real btc to get all that votes. I wonder what volume of ixc trade we can expect.

5.3747 BTC were paid so far https://blockchain.info/address/1NY4E4T6FAx5rLRKCYgnqxsUcoLfJdwDqA

Your link says 2.67 BTC.

But even so, who here has that kind of money to throw away for a new small exchange?

Completely bogus.  Nobody is going to pay that kind of money to get listed in a minor exchange.

I agree but the blockchain doesn't lie, does it?  It appears as though someone is paying to get IXC listed.  What am I missing here if this is bogus and what am I missing if it's true?

The folks promoting the scam are depositing their own money into their own address.

If true, luckily for us they chose ixcoin to place near the top.

I could have sworn it said 5.3747 BTC before.  Maybe I click a link for a different coin.  Anyway, even 2.67 BTC is a lot of money, but it's not all from the same person.

Hi.

There were issues  with www.ixcoin.co that have resulted in it not being assigned to the new website. I don't control that domain name and therefore cannot move it across. ixcoin.org has not been assigned or discussed as the most recent discussions were that Thomas couldn't get the domain back at this stage.

I've registered www.ixcoin.eu and the domain name has been pointed to the new website. It may take up to 72 hours for this propogation process to complete.

Regards, Luke.

Great looking site Luke, it really stands out from others as something more mainstream.  Do the donation addresses at the bottom work yet?  I tried sending a test donation but it doesn't show up.
