I0Coin and DVCcoin are actually still massive difficulty compared to hundreds or thousands of coins out there that people keep throwing money at.

So I think we are far from dead yet.

Though not being able to buy ASIC mining gear is painful. All the makers of ASICs keeping them to themselves instead of selling them.

I wanted to keep adding more mining power precisely because I did not trust run of the mill miners to actually stick to the job of mining all the merged mined coins so figured I would need to mine them myself, and in general that aqnyone using merged mined coins would want to and need to mine the lot of them themselves.

The inability to actually buy miningf gear is a massive blow to such plans...

The bastards who stopped mining IXCoin likely have some private access to mining gear that we cannot buy so cannot even take up the slack.

Efficiency loss from a merged coin should be tiny. Maybe their pool code is just not very good at its job. Most pool code doesn't really do merged mining well at all.

The Chinese own the biggest foundries in the world.  They don't control 60% of the Bitcoin network, beating out the west, by accident.

What a mess!!!!!

And f2pool announced 2 days ago that they have now pulled all support for i0, so that coin is done.
There's also the recent announcement of the possibility of chain forks in coins based on old code. This makes pools a bit uncomfortable to run them. See the namecoin updates going on for example.

Point all your miners at pools that do merge all the coins, or as many as any pool does. Check out mmpool.org for example maybe. Though they have been under DDOS attack. Maybe someone is seriously attacking merged mining in general.

id say its likely a down server but if its been going on for 3 days, what else could it be?

why would anyone stop mining something that costs them nothing?

is this a signal to bail?

It's not a server.  The drop in difficulty is accelerating as if someone is actively removing IXC from the miners.  Exactly the way it happened with i0 a couple months ago.

And f2pool announced 2 days ago that they have now pulled all support for i0, so that coin is done.

Edit:  It costs them a lot in lost efficiencies to mine IXC.  This is why they have removed other merged coins [DVC and i0] that actually had a payout.

Yeah I see hash power has dropped now since last I looked.

Maybe one of the big pools that had merged IXCoin has stopped doing so?

-MarkM-

Only 1 pool had that much power on IXC, f2pool.  They had close to 90% of the IXC hash power.

So they're the ones dropping IXC - like they dropped DVC and i0.

Without the Chinese supporting, mining and pushing IXC I don't see any hope.  Look at i0 and DVC, you can kill them mining with your toaster.  We need to find out why the Chinese are quitting on IXC all of a sudden.

Unless IXC has been one big [failed] experiment or a ruse, a decoy, using me as their mouth piece all this time while they prepped their real coin.

I'm gonna be sick!!!

Check https://vircurex.com
Difficulty dropped from 11 to 6.8 billion
Ghs from 97 to 29 million
All in 3 days. And the downtrend seems to continue.

In the meantime Btc and Nmc's Ghs and difficulty were rising.

Mining collapse appears to be accelerating!!!

WTF is going on?!?!?!?!!!!

What are you looking at?

I looked at the difficulty and mining hashpower listed at Vircurex when you posted earlier then again now and see no change yet...

-MarkM-

as above - where are you getting your panic from?

Zebedee,

You bastard!  IXC mining/difficulty just collapsed.  Not dead yet but taken a massive hit and going lower.  Same pattern i0 and DVC followed a couple months ago and now they're dropped completely by the Chinese.

How did you know this was gonna happen?

Anybody know what's going on?

It is very interesting to me that you folks have been dreaming about this coin to become somehow relevant for years and years. Amazing persistency!

Have you not realized that it is entirely obsolete and dead, though? Why don't you come over and follow actual development and advancement of cryptocurrency?

I warmly invite you! Stop being involved in a grand fail, and step over to the side of the winners! You deserve it.

Which coin(s) do you suggest are so superior to my beloved iXcoin?

I dunno, something about "no inflation" has a certain, oh I don't know... something?

High difficulty is nice, too.

Plus it is a lot cheaper to buy up lots of coins when the rest of the world is turning a blind eye...

Oh I get it, you want it to get even cheaper so you can belately buy in! Ha! Sneaky!

uppercase I to avoid being associated with iTardjunk

personally dont like the red, gold on white is easy on the eye.

but if it genuinely is '#ChinaPower' gold on red is what chinese gold shops (and some restaurants) use.

so, uppercase gold I on white/silver or red background...

something like this but less shit - https://www.colourbox.com/image/gold-letter-on-red-background-image-6004275

Gold on red [Capital I] sounds interesting, I'd like to see that if anyone can flip those colors.

Tried logging onto the dot org site and I've been locked out.  It's not Thomas, this is the second time this has happened to me.  Unless this is common then someone is trying to prevent me from updating .org.

I have written Thomas about the repeat error and we'll use .io until Thomas responds and resets the credentials [again].

Thanks for your input!

Ok, i'm getting some help with the website.

Now about the logo/symbol.

We really need a one letter currency symbol like BTC.  I see no problem with the i Thomas Nasakioto has chosen.  I especially like it in red.

Any other opinions?
