Announcement:

I'm doing a fund raiser to go to China to try and sell IXC to BTC38 and BTCCHINA.  BTCCHINA currently only lists BTC and LTC so it would be quite a feat to get IXC listed.

A rough estimates says I need to raise about $5,000 so if I can reach that goal then I'll go.

Cheers!

Bitcoin XT nodes:

http://xtnodes.com/other_nodes_and_xt_nodes_pie_chart.php

Question: when (and if) Bitcoin XT goes above 75%, what is going to happen to merge mined coins?

Hard to say but if I were Gavin I would be very worried to support coins like IXC which are obviously better payment systems and backed by huge partners so it's very possible they'll try to kill merged mining with XT.

great. find someone to test and make sure it works. Im tired of trying it.

Ahmed

I know, you've done your part - I'm doing what I can but there is a lot going on behind the scenes which is out of our control right now.  But I'm gonna keep pushing for that 20mb test even though it can kill iXCoin.  I think, win or lose, we have to go for it - all or nothing.

Be diversified - plenty of good, oversold alts to diversify into right now.

so just go back to 0.3. duh

No way, we're going only forward.

We need to get 9.xx standardized across all the pools so we can be prepared for some real competition if/when IXC finally upgrades to 20mb superblocks.

thx to cryptsy im still 5000 IXC out of pocket.

Theyve stopped replying to my ticket/s claiming its sorted...

I do apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused you. The reason the withdrawal
is being chopped is due to a large buildup of inputs from all the transactions in the wallet which
become too large to fit into the block chain so it chops the withdrawal to a size where it will fit into
the block chain. I have alerted our wallet specialist who will merge inputs to help larger withdrawals process.
Thank you for your patience as we works on merging inputs.

Sincerely,

Joyce

http://darkgamex.ch:2751/chain/ixcoin shows difficulty continues to fall, and is now below 600m.

It's dead, Jim.

One way or another, we will get a conclusion of this adventure. If  it will go up to 1$ in months, fine, if it will go down into the pit, it will be fine too.
So Zebedee, we are not afraid of what is gonna happen.
I just feel ixc's death would be the first of a sequence of steps leading to bitcoin's death.

It is still higher than I0Coin. Both coins are in use in the Galactic Milieu and with the resumption of the so called CPU mining that has proven so popular, maybe both will start to perk up.

The Milieu has been around for years, with far more development behind it than the so called "Crypto Kingdom" (that only uses Monero), and with actual 1991-style "retro" two dimensional graphics already too in the form of the Crossfire RPG interface. So however well Crypto Kingdom does, the Milieu can be expected to do much, much better...

This is one of our partners, in my opinion, arguably already bigger than Coinbase.

CEX.io partners with QIWI to bring Bitcoin [cough *and iXcoin] to Russia.

@Vlad @deadsea33

Since you two tend to do the marketing, have you ever thought about hitting up TigerDirect to use iXcoin?  They really love Bitcoin.  The advantage I see for iXcoin is its price is more stable than Bitcoin's.  It has been pretty flat for years which is a big advantage for a retailer.  It's still sitting in the same price range it was in 2013.

And since iXcoin is on Shapeshift, perhaps the game "Spells of Genesis" could use iXcoin.

We need a top name payment processor to push for those kinds of deals.

I've been talking with GoCoin investors and partners and I think we can make GoCoin happen.  I believe they're 2nd or 3rd so a very big partner to have.  If we land GoCoin then IXC will be accepted almost anywhere Bitcoin is accepted.  Marshall and Terpin will once again be instrumental in getting this partnership closed.

Hahaha.

I've been talking to our partners and we're working things out.  Just some code updating that needs to be done.  I'll keep everyone posted.

Can someone with a good understanding of the tech explain the logic behind this massive oscillation in hash/difficulty?

The initial drop I get, f2pool wanted to drop most of their hash power and thus reduce their massive centralized control over IXC in order to invite and allow all of the other pools to mine and secure IXC, and in the process, PAY them to do it (f2pool currently offers 8 IXC for every 1 BTC mined).  Thank you, f2pool - proving generosity is one quality iXCoin embodies.

At any rate, after that initial [freakishly massive] drop - the hash and difficulty shot back up to nearly equal that of Namecoin.  That suggests a huge pool or multiple pools started merge mining IXC.

But now we are back down, way down, [again].

So where is the logic in that?

The only thing I can think of is that we are witnessing some kind of [stealth] test for iXCoin but I don't understand the tech well enough to deduce any logical [but crazy] conclusions.

So can anyone shed some light on what's going on here and what the scope is [assuming there is one]?

Thx!

The main problem appears to be the ixcoin fork.  Is that resolved yet?
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.12055440

The reason for the reduction in hash rate may be to remove the forked branch if F2Pool was mining on it.  Once the preferred branch over takes the fork then everything should be back to normal, except any transactions on the fork would be lost.

Yeh, call me kraizi, lol.

iXcoin is still in the top 4-5 cryptos for hash rate.  As long as we keep a stable merge mined client it should stay that way.  We just need to get the pools migrated to v0.9.3 or later once the bugs are worked out.  Actually, the last issue with the large block wouldn't even have been a problem if all the pools were using the same client version.
