Oh well, the argument has turn now into a Jake Paul fanboy or not, Lol. But in any case, it looks like the boxing community here is divided already? Some might not like what Jake Paul is doing and not it drags the name of one of the legend in boxing and we say that it is ok for him to fight and do exhibitions match? And this could be a trend now, I thought that after we go back to the norm, this kind of exhibition match will end as well. However, it looks like they want to continue because they are making a good amount of money out of casual and hard core boxing fans specially if Jake Paul will have a dance partner that is a legend like Mike Tyson in this case.
Actually, the dislike for Paul has been going on for long time and he has received various bad comments among boxing fans because in several fights he chose fighters who old.
But even though he gets various harsh comments, this fight will still continue considering that there is large amount of money being made for their fight.
But I don't care because I want to see Paul beaten by Mike Tyson like when he lost to Tommy Fury or worse by knockout.
That way, I sure Paul won't make another ridiculous fight in the future because a defeat like that would definitely embarrass him and Paul would really lose his name in his debut as boxer.

Fight is still quite long and there is plenty of time to prepare everything, in this fight all I hope is that Mike Tyson can give big surprise by beating Paul.
If it is not possible that in the future there will be another fighter who could be equal to him and make him feel truly bitter defeat, there are several fighters who could be the main options after the fight against Mike Tyson is over.

Once again so that people dont get me wrong. As a content creator, I dont like Jake Paul. His content was aimed mainly on younger generation and look not just stupid, but degrading to me. As a person, on one hand I understand that he does a lot of thing to get attention. All that trashtalk, behaviour. I would act differently or would not do most of things he did. As a athlete (doubt that this is a proper word, a man who does sports a lot more than on average level would be better) - I am taking off my hat. Because he is not sitting his ass on the couch all the time, but train, improve, challenge one of the best. I understand, that in modern money-oriented-world, a person is forced to act like this (challenge old, retired instead of someone his age) if he wants to earn. No doubt that money is the reason why he fight Mike instead of someone else. But I believe that if boxing stops helping to earn millions, he will still train and not drop it.

Show me a champion who fought big names in the start of his career Cheesy Or any professional fighter, who fought one amazing boxers. Do you think Tyson first fight was against current champion or former champion? Or do you think that Canelo first opponent top fighters?

You people have some kind of strange vision on a situation. When he fights Tyson this year, you claim that Jake would lose because A) Tyson is experienced B) he is a strong puncher. But if Jake wins, you start to claim that he beats only retired and old fighters. How convenient Cheesy

With so much attention to his persona, everyone forced him to fight only big names. Active fighters wont fight him because of contracts. A fight against no-name you dont accept. When he fights against formed boxers, you say that he is fighting old guy. No matter who he fight against, you are still unhappy Cheesy

You use the same excuse for every cab driver and dishwasher he fights. How much longer does he need to be an active pro before the delusional Jake Paul fanboys stop saying “he’s just a rookie guys, don’t be so mean”.

That would only be a valid excuse if he was just a teenager like Canelo and Tyson when they were starting out. Jake Paul is in his late 20s and has been fighting several years. At this point, it’s obvious his career is a total sham and he is deserving of all the criticism he receives.

Or, when being a later starter, he is not using warm-up guys to build his undefeated record. Or wait, but that is what all of you want. You want him to fight no-names, get 20-0 and only then start fighting big names. How old he is going to be when he should start fighting big names? 35? 40? And of course, as a media guy, he should not use his name to earn.

I am not a Jake Paul fanboy, but the arguments everyone uses is absurd. From your point of view, as a cruiserweight, he must face some his level. As he is a newbie, he should fight only newbies. Lets go to https://boxrec.com/ and search for lame cruiserweight, someone from US, so he wont have to go far. Tre Baker 0-3 - perfect. Lucas Queen 1-10 - even better. You want him to fight guys like this? Or I dont get your point.

What I don't understand is why it's on Netflix this time. Correct me if I'm mistaken but since when has Netflix been interested in such events?
To be honest, after seeing what Netflix does and what their narrative is, I would be more surprised if it was streamed on ESPN or any sports channel. There is a partnership between Netflix and Paul's MVP (Most Valuable Promotions). Netflix is sticking to ‘sports-adjacent’ streaming and that's why it is on Netflix, a very good deal for both parties.

By the way, it's kinda funny how Jake Paul turned from a Disney kid to Youtuber and then into a boxer. He is a very smart businessman, a very impressive for his age, he deserves merit for that.

We can say that a boy has grown up into a man. I dont know people hate him so much. He has stopped recording silly movies and content that degrade younger generation, and started promoting sport. For me this is much better (even though he is popularizing violence) than uploading stupidity like 24h challenges or wasting money on silly stuff. I might not support his strategy of building fame based on other people fame, but that is how promotion work today.

Jake Paul was being famous on YouTube platfrom where he used to post comedic videos plus vlogs before being entering into the boxing career. He also got success in professional boxing. He fought several high profile matches and gained attention for his knockout victories. Jake Paul is also known for his controversial activities with other celebrities and also with his fans too. When it comes to business ventures, he is involved in different ventures, including merchandise sales, music and the digital content creation. Lastly, he maintains a significant presence on social media platforms with the millions of followers across different channels.

It will be entertaining to watch them fight with Mike Tyson who is one of the best heavyweight plus the former undisputed champion. He is known for his unique fighting style and he has the knockout power which many boxers do not possesses.

It's all for the exhibition matches, and for money, and that's why many hard core boxing fans are totally against it. But as time goes by, there could be fans that soften their stance against Jake Paul or any of his exhibition fights as this is the new trend now. So yeah, hate him or love him, he is a smart businessman who turn his popularity and market it so hard that he is one of the biggest now and have a chance to fight the legend Tyson.
While I do not enjoy watching these exhibition matches, it is not as this is new or anything, in soccer we have all kind of friendly matches that are played just to get money from the fans, why should boxing be any different and not allow those matches to take place?

So those that do not like those matches, like myself, should stay away from them, as no matter what happens on this fight, no one will been able to erase from my memory how good Tyson was on his prime.

The surprising thing I saw recently was that Tyson has been in training daily for years, not just since this fight was discussed but its part of his permanent regime to stay in shape regardless of any schedule to fight with an audience.  If thats true and Tyson has a good trainer and a regular disciplined regime of exercise and sparring etc.  what real chance does an amateur have against him.

If you dont use muscle it never stays, it reverts to fat because that is the form the body retains vs its various energy and heat needs as the most useful natural arrangement.  It matters a great deal if Tyson fights that process daily to stop himself slipping into retirement as an observer of boxing and his own great record but actively is retaining the capability for his own self respect and health.   The main thing I want to find out now is how true that is, could just be talk and a show or he really does carry himself at a higher standard then most of us tbh.

People hate him because he is fake, he fights retired boxers and makes himself cool by beating once amazing (now retired) 50 years old boxers. After all of these, he calls himself a professional boxer and in his record he writes down the defeat of legendary names. So, many people think that he is just a cheater, a liar who makes millions of dollars and I personally agree with that because that's true but I always admit that he is a very smart businessman, he is goddamn super in marketing and we can't take that from him but calling himself a boxer is a shame, he never fights professionals.

@TopTort777 - the only fighter that I know of is Loma, who fought for the world title in his 2nd fight against Salido but lost. But then won his first title in his 3rd fight.

We should just appreciate what Jake Paul had achieve so far. For a non natural boxer to reach at this level, man he is impressive. Now he is fighting a legend and he is not afraid against a KO artist although an old one. if we are not interested, we just disregard it, but if we like to see it, this is our opportunity to see Mike fight a young and active boxer.

At the end of the day, there are rules to follow, we cheer the boxer that we like, so there's no cheating here, it's just a game for them, we watch, thy make money, that's it.

I think the biggest reason is because Netflix can make lot of profit from this fight when they are the main party that can broadcast it, Mike Tyson is legendary boxer and anyone would pay to be able to watch him fight again.
This is good agreement between the Netflix collaboration and MVP (Most Valuable Promotions) and with this collaboration, Mike Tyson can make more money from every broadcast of his fights.
No one wants to turn down money and they Netflix will always do the same in the future with some other fighter to be able to become one of the more growing sports channels.

However, all this was not done without reason, Paul has thoughts that I consider to be someone who is smart in making money, he knows what he has to do and can still have fun but on the other hand he can earn large amounts of income from all of that.
Hahaha amateur boxer from YouTuber who is currently doing some unexpected things to achieve what he wants, money.

He really is very intelligent in the art of creating content for the internet, he probably went into sports to bring even more people to watch his content... Working with the internet you have to be versatile and have the ability to create any content whatever. , that is, what will bring more views and money, in this we have to agree that Jake Paul is very competent.

Yeah, and he is the one started this whole new trend, a prime mover if you can call it that way. From a Youtuber who earns decent money, to now one of the biggest attraction (I hate to say it, but he is right now). He had a company now that focuses on his fight and now having the best fighter in Mike Tyson, a legend and potentially earning him millions from the joint venture with Netflix.

So as much as we hate him, like Floyd, you can call this kid a genius. He knows how to promote his fight base on his background as a content creator and fans are going crazy when we all heard that he will be facing the legendary Mike Tyson and the boxing community are very alive and even 50/50 if this is a good fight taken by Mike Tyson or not.

Netflix is quite new to this game but with what they have achieve so far, we cannot doubt them. Maybe in the future their offerings will grow and they'll defeat their sports streaming rivals in the future due to their great initiative that people will not have to pay a high PPV subscription but at the same time they can still give what the boxers would want. I guess the high PPV rate will die sooner as Netflix is here to take over with cheap fees but they'll target a volume of viewers. it's a win-win for the sports as well as the interest of people will grow.

By the way, it's kinda funny how Jake Paul turned from a Disney kid to Youtuber and then into a boxer. He is a very smart businessman, a very impressive for his age, he deserves merit for that.

Indeed, boxing is a very dangerous job and he he excel on it.

Jack of all trades 💯
None of them are losing on the money question and Jake Paul is going win on reputation even if he does suffer a loss so its hard to see a negative for either of them.  Its only the age which is some concern and that can be cleared beforehand I guess.

I like how Tyson points out immediately I dont think Jake Paul is quicker.  The age advantage is irrefutable overall sure but how does some unskilled use their advantages, they waste them typically.   A skilled opponent will account for the negatives they must overcome and prepare for it but I was going to say the same thing Tyson doesnt appear slower then Jake Paul.  It'd be a massive point for Paul if that were true but cant say I believe that at this point.
With age, the reaction in any case becomes worse, and perhaps Tyson will not lose in terms of endurance, because in any case he is a professional and knows how to prepare for a fight, but I’m not sure about speed, but for a good knockout blow, I think that Tyson will there will be an advantage. And here authority must come into play, getting into the ring against Mike Tyson himself is not easy, besides, I’m almost sure that Jake is not doing this for money or victory, the fact in his biography that he fought in the ring with the Legend will be important to him.

He has the speed we see that on his last clips he can punch so fast that's why there's rotating rumors that Jake Paul is starting to get scared of Tyson. But what I think the questionable there is Tyson's endurance if he can able to last for more rounds since we know he's old and for maybe with age factor his stamina decrease. That's why there are people believe that Paul have the advantage since he's young.

But let see we are not sure about the result but one thing is for sure since both of them have something to prove to their fans for sure we can expect a good fight here and people discussion towards who among them is a better fighter will fade. But I will bet on Tyson this match since for me experience would matter the most and Tyson could able to outsmart Paul which have less experience for fighting the pro's of boxing.
