Is that sound bit going to play whenever someone makes a absurdly large bet?

The only "alt-coin" that should be added is BTC-e USD. You deposit USD with a btc-e voucher and you withdraw USD getting a btc-e voucher. This will allow investing while the price of BTC is going down without losing money.
Terrble Terrible idea. He would instantly go from a legal site with play money to the IRS pursuing him.

JD doesn't deal with any kind of 'real money'.

I'm sure you get plenty of requests for adding coins but I think IFC Infinitecoin would really work

I don't, and it wouldn't.

Great website! I'm sure you get plenty of requests for adding coins but I think IFC Infinitecoin would really work well on gaming sites, you can look here for more info https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/ann-infinitecoin-ifc-v18-released-mandatory-upgrade-upgrade-asap-225891

Infinitecoin is climbing the ranks in terms of market cap and is only going up! Smiley

Full disclosure: I am currently working on an Infinitecoin related website (non gambling related). And i do want to see Infinitecoin succeed. Smiley

There is nothing that sets Infinitecoin apart from the hordes of other altcoins (hint: the amount of coins in total / per block is not an important number with crypto-currencies being extremely dividable), so there's no reason to adopt it over any of the others.

Besides, one of the strengths of JD is, IMO, the simple interface. It doesn't need feature-bloat (@dooglus: stats & graphs aren't bloat Tongue).

The Concierge of Crypto
Magic seeds = subconscious = supernatural = intuition.

Remember guys, it's not using a PRNG (Pseudo Random Number Generator) to generate the lucky numbers. It used a CSPRNG (Cryptographically Secure) to create the server seed. It then used a CSHF (Cryptographically Secure Hash Function) or SHA (Secure Hash Algorithm) to determine the lucky number. It also uses a counter to determine the next lucky number in the sequence.

The sequence is essentially pre-determined forever until you change the seeds by randomizing.

Because of the usage of a hash function, the distribution of lucky numbers are uniform. While the distribution of random numbers is also uniform, this is not the same. They are also called lucky numbers, because they are not random numbers.

In probability theory, two random variables being uncorrelated does not imply their independence. In some contexts, uncorrelatedness implies at least pairwise independence.

It is sometimes mistakenly thought that one context in which uncorrelatedness implies independence is when the random variables involved are normally distributed. However, this is incorrect if the variables are merely marginally normally distributed but not jointly normally distributed.

In probability and statistics, a random variable or stochastic variable is a variable whose value is subject to variations due to chance (i.e. randomness, in a mathematical sense). As opposed to other mathematical variables, a random variable conceptually does not have a single, fixed value (even if unknown); rather, it can take on a set of possible different values, each with an associated probability.

Statistical inference might be thought of as gambling theory applied. The myriad applications for logarithmic information measures tell us precisely how to take the best guess in the face of partial information. In that sense, information theory might be considered a formal expression of the theory of gambling. It is no surprise, therefore, that information theory has applications to games of chance.

The event of getting a 6 the first time a die is rolled and the event of getting a 6 the second time are independent. By contrast, the event of getting a 6 the first time a die is rolled and the event that the sum of the numbers seen on the first and second trials is 8 are not independent.

If two cards are drawn with replacement from a deck of cards, the event of drawing a red card on the first trial and that of drawing a red card on the second trial are independent. By contrast, if two cards are drawn without replacement from a deck of cards, the event of drawing a red card on the first trial and that of drawing a red card on the second trial are again not independent.

The question is, are two lucky numbers using the same server seed, the same client seed and only differing in nonce, using the same hash function to deterministically compute the lucky numbers truly independent?

If you lose, you can't win. If you won, you didn't lose.

Ok, just spreading some FUD (Fear, Uncertainty, Doubt) and some fun.

But I still have magic seeds.

You can't have intuition about the results of a very effective PRNG without believing in supernatural matters
Exactly. But we can just leave it there by mentioning that subconscious was once considered "supernatural". Of course we now in the modern times know better the distinction between natural and supernatural Smiley

I'm more than happy with people thinking they have a system or a 'feel of the character' of their hash.
Not to be mean, but as it's pretty closely related to "feeling the character of a hash", maybe you explain me intuition briefly.  Roll Eyes

BTW, although used for non-gaming things more than gaming, many of the most successful people on earth vouch for intuition.

Oh, there is something to be said for intuition in some circumstances. Intuition is typically a subconscious decision based on previous experiences. You can have an intuition about whether someone is trustworthy or whether a deal is good.

You can't have intuition about the results of a very effective PRNG without believing in supernatural matters or having found a flaw in SHA-512 (and being capable of some truly amazing mental arithmetic).

It's a perfectly viable business model, just not something with guaranteed short-term results.

Thanks Rannasha for taking all these questions while I was sleeping.  I love how investors feel - uh - invested - and so take responsibility for helping out newcomers.  It's this feeling of community that I was hoping for when I made the site the way I did, with on-site chat and shared bankroll.
I couldn't find the database dump Rannasha mentioned.  Can I get a copy?

It's in the JD thread on the Securities forum. The following post:

Yeah, that's not how you delay javascript...  Use setTimeout(f, 1000);  it will call function f after 1000 ms.
