Just how bad is the bear market right now?
Historically low prices have endured for a longer period of time in the present bear market cycle than in any other.

The current bear market is not as bad as the one in 2014, but it's still pretty bad.

The main reason for this is the collapse of the bitcoin price. In late 2013 and early 2014, the price of a single bitcoin rose from around $100 to over $1,000. This led to a lot of speculation in the cryptocurrency market, and when the price started to fall, many people got burned. As a result, there is now much less interest in bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, which has led to a further decline in prices.

So far, the total value of all cryptocurrencies has fallen by more than 80% from its peak in January 2018. This bear market will likely continue until there is greater clarity

actually bearish like this has happened in the past few years and almost 60% -70% the price of all coins fell very deeply.
but some people are sometimes so new to crypto that they always ask about bearish like this.

yes, at the moment the bearish is going on for a very long time, but what we have to know now is the right time to start investing again in the right coins to wait for the bulls to come and see the ATH price of the coins we hold later.
maybe, there are some people who have big loss after investing in some earlier coin or altcoin who buy and hold it till today. but you don't need to worry, even though the bears are still hitting the market, of course the bullish times will also come to give unexpected surprises in the future

In comparison to other bull markets? I mean back then we've had an instance BTC of going up to $17k and then down below to $3-4k, pretty sure we're in a much better state compared to then if only comparing the ratio. I reckon it looks big because the peak of the current market was also pretty high. The FTX issue may have brought down the market a bit, but pretty sure those would only affect the market in the short term, as long as people ain't dumb with their coins again. I'd say nothing was as bad as late 2018, or early 2019. Yet anyway.

This is in consideration of Bitcoin though, which in general is followed by altcoins afaik.

It's apparently not that bad. It is clear that we are in the middle of a bad market right now, but look at the prices. Bitcoin is at $17,000. Ethereum is at $1,200. That's a lot better than the last time we had this really bad market. So although we are really this bad if we compare it a year ago, we are not that bad if we compare it with the past bear markets. So all in all, we have actually grown a lot. Adoption has been growing. Bitcoin has been reaching new supporters from all around the world.

The next time we'll be in this kind of bad market, we'll probably see Bitcoin at around $80,000. So let's make the most of this terrible market.

The glass is half full or half empty and it will depend on your point of view and interpretation. Therefore, for some this moment is very desperate and for others it's a unique opportunity to fill big backpacks and wait for the bull summer to arrive. In my opinion this moment is part of the crypto cycle.

This is bad if this is your first time to experience bear market, but i’m sure there’s always a story on every bear market and in the past few years, cryptomarket still prove to be better. Recovery will take place very soon, don’t panic if you are holding good coins because they will survive. This might be a rough road taking the peak but many believes that Bitcoin and cryptomarket will rise again and this bear market will be more worth it.

Honestly, I'd never look at the market condition badly compared to the previous bear market. If we compared the price of Bitcoin which reaches $3,700 in 2019, it was too far from now, multiple times. The market is still healthy, that is what I see and never I think we fall like what happened last 2019. So we need to keep calm and never think about the past because this could only give us a reason to worry.
We fall and we recover - just have these words in mind.

Crypto market cycle is repeating itself thus bear market itself. Nothing worst than bear market but I think that bear market right now isn't that much worst compared to the bear market we experienced last 2018 which is very devastating. This is why I'm still thinking that in our current bear market, we still have a room for more bottom price in short it's still not over. Or Am I just experienced the worst and expecting it to happen it again this year bear market? If our current situation escalated in deeper bottom price, I assume that won't be shocked or affected that much anymore compared on what happened on the past bear market which makes me devastated.

It's very obvious that the market situation is bad. We've seen the price going as low as $15k, -74% from our last all time high just a year ago. ETH is down -73.18%, BNB is down 61.09%.

So that's only the top 3 crypto, what else if we look down in the list? I'm sure that there are a lot who has -90% or even higher.

The scary thing is that it's just the start of the bear market and what others have said, next year could be worst, so we need to get ready in the next 12 months still because the market should still be in the shaky ground.

I don't know why some people are trying to downplay the fact that BTC went from $69K ATH to $16K as not as bad from the previous cycle's drop of $20K to $3K. Percentage may not be exactly the same but the numbers suggest it's really bad. Maybe the positive take there is that prices wouldn't have reached these low levels if not for the Do Kwon and SBF cases.

I do agree it's really that bad, just entering the first year of a bear cycle.

And next year could be worst, we could see another catastrophic event or what we call black swan. It doesn't mean that there could be another exchanges collapsing, but maybe there could be another FUD that can pull the market on the brink of another all time lows this bear cycle.

We just have to accept that fact though that Do Kwon and SBF has something to do with how the market turn out to be this 2022.

Might be one of the worst and longest bear market, and that’s ok because this is a good opportunity to accumulate. We might never know when this market recovers but I’m still positive for a great bull run and I know it will still happen in the coming years. Bear market seems to be more strong for this year after so many devastating news about big projects. Maybe the next bull market will start to happen a year before the Bitcoin halving.

I know that everyone feels bad about the bear market after it lasted for a long time more than at any other time, but in times of crisis, wealth is made, so we all lost a lot of money during this bear market, and the collapse of FTX and the collapse of Luna made it worse, but the good and interesting thing during the bear market is that the prices of the altcoins are cheap now we can buy them at huge discounts, aren't these promising opportunities? Also, this time, despite its badness, gave us a lot of lessons and we gained a lot of experience during it, one day we will witness a bull market, and these difficult times and crises that the crypto market is going through may remain just memories, so be optimistic and invest in what you can lose.

If I had to compare the bear market this year to others in the past, I wouldn't say that this year was worse than those in the past. However, the one negative aspect of this year I can think of is how investors lost money due to the FXT exchange and the luna crash. Only these two incidents cause the entire cryptocurrency industry to tremble, but thank goodness the market held up and didn't crash like it did in 2018.

I think it's not that bad if you were only just doing DCA and holding but if you are planning to make a profit during the bear market I think it's so bad that you have to endure too much just to get that desired profit. Ever since the FTX incident it didn't recover yet from that devastating event. Maybe if SBF return all of the assets lost of most investors who used his exchange maybe the price would pump up a little but it's all just an speculation if that's going to happen.

Every Bitcoin cycle there's this one time that the market will look like it's over to almost everyone but not if you know how the market works.

And also, I think most people who invested on Luna still suffering from the losses and hardly trying to recover.

Not as bad as 2018. You know why? It's because, 2018 was worse than this current bear market. But still, those that have bought at the top for this cycle might say that this is the worst bear market that they've seen and there's no need to argue with that. Anyone who's at lost is free to say what he thinks with the market, if it's not profitable as much as he want to be and dwelling in losses. That's how bad this bear market is and no one can skip it.

It's not so bad like 2018.  Cheesy

Historically low prices have endured for a longer period of time in the present bear market cycle than in any other.
Then you shall also try to see what happened in 2020. The price of bitcoin gone to the lowest rate. It seems like that the recovery may be even shorter than before, this time people started to realize how important decentralization. The bearish market is not so bad as bitcoin was getting the new bottom.

the crypto market is not as bad compared to the 2018 bear run, though the bear is not yet over. It is obvious that the crypto winter continues into 2023, and there is no end in sight, just in my opinion. As I observed the movements, it looked like the bear would go for a longer time than we may have expected.
I would be expecting some changes as the year end closes in, but that is classically known to be a bear run, so I am not sure whether it will end  up being a prolonged bear market or a bullish trend, consider the fact that prices of major assets are inching upwards currently.

While every bear market is bad, comparing how bad or how good will not result in anything fruitful. Rather it is the amount of assets that you can gather during this "hunting season" what matters. Because when the bull market starts, prices will go beyond your reach for weeks and at that time everyone will sulk around saying that they dont have the asset at hand to sell and are panic buying shitcoins which might be within their reach will huge chunks from their salary, eventually leading to disastrous outcome in the next bear cycle.

The market is currently still in a bear market but we are lucky that the price is still holding on to the current price because the bitcoin movement is also not decreasing further and the price is even stable at $17k. Hopefully, next year can bring changes to the crypto market and make bitcoin and altcoin prices increase higher than now. And even though we still have to wait for the market to change to a bull market condition, that's okay because the market price doesn't fall too deep either. We must wait in the current conditions and keep hoping everything will change soon.

Just how bad is the bear market right now?

It's already that bad, we have seen the collapse of FTX and Terra Luna and we don't who will be next.

Historically low prices have endured for a longer period of time in the present bear market cycle than in any other.

Historically before then next bitcoin block halving and right after it's all time high, the market will be in a bear market. So 2021 is the last all time high and 2024 first quarter is the next bitcoin halving. So you do the math and you will see how long this bear market will be.

So just remember that we might see another bearish cycle for next year and it could be cold just like this year.
