Well I am not too picky. 1 1/2 blocks at our current hash rate, or 2 blocks per day with a proportionately higher hash rate. Either would work for me Smiley

Well at the current hash rate hovering around 22-25PHs it's about 1.5 blocks a day.

So if we were getting 2 a day you'd be doing better than any pool that has ever paid anyone ever Smiley

2 blocks a day definitely does sound amazing !:).  I wish we could keep up with just the 1.5 daily and that would be awesome! Smiley. If we keep at that rate I would definitely be  considering adding another 500TH in about 4-5 months! Smiley

I have one of those, a Radeon, I used to mine with, but can't afford 400W on a video card

The system only consumes 400 Watts when mining.  Just using it as a regular video card the power usage is a fraction of that.  Even when gaming it shouldn't ever hit the 400 Watt mark.

I mined with two GPU's, Radeon 5770 and 5830, and they never went over 385 Watts.
Well...it has to do with the "...infinity and beyond on <30A" thingy...has nothing to do with the computer (1000W PSU, but only a fraction being used). When you say "the system" I assume you mean the computer...and the total amperage is the total amperage. My workstation runs a Phenom 8-core, 32MB of RAM, six HDDs (three of which are legacy), various USB devices, etc. etc. which is why the 1000W PSU. I don't game. I do engage in a lot of forensics, but that's another discussion. Anyway...when the mfr sez 400W, I tend to figure my circuit loads on their specs...not on my "figure it should be." I also trust the Kill-o-Watt meter.  Cool

Anyone considering mining on Eligius, even as a backup - be aware that they have been lying about the pool hash rate for almost a year - ignoring requests in the pool thread to update it for that long also, and they currently hide the pool hash rate completely under the excuse of ... it'll appear some time soon ... though considering their latest update 'soon' took about a year ... you can guess when that might be Smiley

Certainly do not use that as a backup pool.

... anyway they mine empty blocks on a block change coz the pool code sux slow - so no one should mine there anyway.

It is complicated repairs the hash board of bitmain .. I just received 15 machines r4 .. and a hash board was damaged .. So it is contacting them .. for the warranty. The new s9 they do not only want the hash board, but the complete unit ..

Please contact bitmain, so they can guarantee you for your bad cards ... they take about 30 days to return your repaired cards ..

I can help you .. in the irc .. I spend with the boys ... Let me know

regards

The repair is not so much money .. and includes the return shipping

Thank you danbel!  I've already sent one unit back, since it was under warranty.  My second unit was starting to have no hashing issues but now it seems like it's running, although it won't load the stats page but is running as I see in Kano workers.  I'm sorry what does "irc" mean?  I didn't really get that. Thanks again!

Will someone turn loose of those blocks please Smiley

Hoping to see us get back to an average of two blocks per day. That makes it affordable for me to point all of my hash here.

Just ordered an R4, which will probably replace an S7. I may send the S7 somewhere to be hosted with less expensive power. Maybe up north to CryptoBoreas in Canada. Others here seem happy with their service. Any suggestions on what the declared value of an S7 would be for the VAT?

After I got the new system drive working, and all the apps installed, I was bitching because the screen resolution was not quite as good (long story...of the Ubuntu video driver kind... Cry)

are you on 14.04 or 16.04? do you have a video card in the system or running on integrated graphics?
strange anyway, I see sometimes something like this, but only when the word UBUNTU is flashing, then the system takes over and by the time I have to enter the password, resolution is OK.

16.04LTS. nVidia stuff...especially older cards...

i recently got 1060 6gb (one fan) for just above $200. A tiny little thing using 120W (anything else did not fit in my PC enclosure) producing beautiful display in 16.04. It can even mine something if you are so inclined or for fun at around $30-35/mo.

16.04LTS. nVidia stuff...especially older cards...seem to be somewhat notorious for lacking decent drivers in Linux. Mine's not a super-GPU or anything (I have one of those, a Radeon, I used to mine with, but can't afford 400W on a video card  Cool ); this is a GeForce 230; and with a bit of data diving I found a driver...from nVidia of all places...that works well. I have onboard video available on the mobo, but don't use it. I'm not seeing any whacked out behavior at all, thankfully. Having my system HDD go south whilst I was still getting its replacement ready (got a new one started when the I/O errors began) was a bit stressful, but all went well. I'm now running 1920x1080 resolution with no issues.

Mine on...  Cool

EDIT: And...I'm overcoming my Scot heritage and forking out the bucks for a mirrored backup drive...  Kiss

Sorry to hear of further S9 problems. Hang in there.
