No problem, I thought maybe you misunderstood what I was saying. But I guess it was I that misunderstood.  Smiley

Ok, I thought since you had the S9 info that maybe all the ASICs had something that indicated what they were.

Yeah I was referring to his post also, but your post had more useful comments to include in my reply Smiley

Kano,
You say they have the worst luck and worst CDF of miners connected to the pool.
Have you run luck and CDF numbers for each type of ASIC mining at the pool? S3's, S4's A4's, A6's, SP20's, etc?
Just curious what the luckiest miners are.

The reason I ask is that you have shown us the S9 CDF and I was just wondering how they compare to other ASICs.
I can't differentiate between miners very easily, since they don't say "I'm an S3"
S9's do currently say "I'm an S9"
What I compare them to is the other grouped stats of miner versions - which don't necessarily say which miner they are.

the pool gain back a little bit more than 5k Th/s in the past few days, and we run into a "blockless day" ...well... more than a "blockless day" , last block found 31h 31m hours ago ...
So to actually put up a few points to avoid anyone seeing correlation where absolutely none exists ...

More miners don't stop the current miners finding blocks ...
A correlation to that: ... a block-less day means ... no blocks were found, not that new miners stopped blocks being found Smiley

We got a slow (384%) block, but ... they're expected to happen on average, about every ~46.5 blocks, averaged over a long period of time, (see below) and then the next 2 blocks were under 100% Smiley

... and lastly ... with the last block that was found in October (since October has now finished)
as the stats page shows - we found ~2.3 more blocks than statistically expected for October Smiley
(and the average PPS% value was 106.06% for October blocks)

Edit: oh also we had another of those really close shares yesterday (UTC)

...and again...hours without being able to logon here. Is the board getting DDoS'd? Not worried about it, but it's kinda aggravating as it's the best/only info source for us.
Yeah I'm pretty sure it's being DDoSed but that's a guess from the fact that over the past 36hrs I've only managed to get on once or twice before now for a very short time, and one of the failure messages, while trying, was exactly what you'd get if a DDoS was going on.

Well, you could always turn too the IRC channel if the forum is down. It's a little different but you don't feel quite so cut off when you have a backup in place.

Block by BTC2X with 23TH/s!  This is his 2nd Kano block and our 2nd of the day!   Cheesy

I'm a little late as this happened about 3 hours ago.  I could not get into the forum.  Grin

I've had trouble periodically getting here as well for the past 24 hrs or so.

...and...welcome back, Sierra...hang in there.

Thanks I appreciate it.

I have also had trouble getting here also.

Yes I understand the contests, but I was referring to this:

Yes,and also a monthly prizes for the best miners will be great.

And my point was that you can't be giving out prizes every month for the "best" miner.

I'm, of course, not going to run a zero fee pool, but with the fees as low as they are, the payouts including transaction fees, our block distribution being the best around (though I'm working on updating that again soon) and the pool itself ensuring we don't mine empty blocks, that's the ongoing prize of this pool - maximising expected returns.

That is why we all mine here. You are constantly working on everything to maximize the expected returns.

Maybe you missed this or ignored it?

That would not work for several reasons but primarily, where would the prizes come from?
You are not doing anything special by using the best miner so why should you get a prize for it?  Smiley

Unfortunately, at the moment, there's only one manufacturer I'd consider 'letting' them advertise here, since there's really only 2 left of the planet.
However, we're all still waiting for something to happen with that one ... hopefully soon.

Tiny prizes are pointless since they are basically an attempt to attract small miners.
I'm not interested in attracting small miners with prizes since that really doesn't help the pool at all.
There are lots of small miners on the pool, and I've never banned one for being too small ... that wasn't being stupid CPU/GPU mining Tongue
But when you consider that a proxy uses as much pool resources as a single miner, trying to get lotsa tiny miners on the pool is not a good move for the pool at all.
I currently consider S1 or smaller as tiny.

Guess I didn't miss too awful much...Internet was down here for three hours. Just came back up.

Since I don't rely on mining to pay my basic bills, I'm going to wait.
