Man...the amount of angst $2 bad hardware can cause...the mini usb patch between the A6 AUC adapter and the RPi was bad on the signal side. I swapped it for the better quality cable I'd been using for the power input...and so...

I said...I say-ed...

That is terrific Firetree!

The amount of expertise here on kano amazes me.

I'll be in line with everyone else to try out the new Avalons.  Hopefully soon.

Mahalo (thanks)! Lots of mana'o (loosely translated, expertise) here for sure, and several folks PM'd with some pretty helpful info. I had to wade through all the obvious, and even more obtuse, stuff to eliminate all but the real cause. I think that's always been my least favorite troubleshoot...when it turns out to be a 50-cent fuse on a circuit that isn't supposed to be used...that sort of thing.

Yup, once I get the second A6 online here at home, I think it'll be time (and enough BTC in the wallet) to pick up the next-gen Avalon box, which according to all the chatter is trying to launch in Sept. All I know is what I see on the board. We've got some good years of mining left given the level of hw production I know they can do.

Mine on...  Kiss

Is your AUC controller red or green. if it's red then something not connecting
it should go from blue to green but sometimes flashes red then green.
On dashboard did it show the temp?

The LED on the A6 is flashing green. You can see from the pic that nothing is coming through. The pool assignments are OK, but that's it.
The LED on the A6 should be solid blue, the AUC, between the A6 & RPi should be solid green.
If the led on the A6 is flashing green it hasn't completed it's start up.

Hi Actual, I had a similar problem when I got a RPi3 to update so I could use the wifi option and use on the new Avalon?. Wish I could find were to buy a AUC controller. BlockC always goes to DHCP, maybe it can be changed I'm not sure.
I downloaded the latest firmware from Avalon, it goes to static you need to do your setup on dashboard before you go to advanced, on network set the last dns setting to 114.114.114.114 it will not affect the dns on your computer, once it's running then go to advance. do your password and you will stay on advance, I don't think you can go back to dashboard. when you login again use 192.168.0.100
hope this helps

Thanks, Chili, but already been there. This is what the status looks like...whether the A6 is powered up or not. Dunno if it's a bad USB cable or what.

Wow! what are the odds? Been running 6 S2's for about 10 months (didn't find any blocks) but sold 5 of them the last couple of months and replaced them with a single S7. This S7 isn't even running for a full month and it found not 1 but 2 blocks! Must be a very lucky one Wink Proud to be on the acclaim list and let's hope it finds many more on this pool!

Can someone point me to an appropriate thread so I can get this A6 running? I finally got the SD card(s) burned (both Avalon and BlockC), and the RPi boots, but when using the BlockC card (has DHCP) I went to "Advanced", and now can't get back to the dashboard. Don't wanna change my network to the 192.168.0.xx config, but may have to, I guess. The RPi shows on the router, but no connection to the pool.

Thanks again. Maybe shoulda hadda oughta stayed with BiteMe. Huh

Looks like my keepkey discovered a bug. New beta firmware release available later today.
Guys over at keepkey are on the stick. Very pleased. They are the KANO of hardware wallets.
Yay! I'm 1btc richer that I thought.
Blockchain does not lie. Smiley

Blocks have been a bit stubborn. Let's roll!

Similar experience, one of their senior developers, Ken, actually called me to explain what was going on and ask if I wanted to be part of the beta firmware and app update Smiley
Me too on the beta.
They did not get it fixed Friday, looks like Monday now. Coins are safe, just cannot get to them until Monday.

I had to use 8.8.8.8 as my DNS server. (google DNS)
Datacenter set up my firewall and I could not use 192.168.1.1 as the DNS (same as gateway)
