Carl, aka Sonny :)
With an average of ~4 blocks per day (over the last 180 days), how come folks look for external reasons for 2 block days but call the 6 block days "good luck" and go on about their merry way?

Haha!  Everybody loves the 6 block days but the 2 block days brings out the tin foil hat folks!

Bitcoin Talks Bullshit Walks
yea i picked a hell of a time to throw 1 btc at nice hash  ,.. was just for fun anyway.. was from an exchange crediting me with that scam ethc coin.  Got 2.8 btc for nothing one day out of blue this week.  figured i could gamble a bit. With your recent stretch of luck i thought you were due. but i know thats the gambler fallacy.. but us thinking the pool should be doing better is that not also.. Think about it guys this pool has done exceptionally well and id really love for kano to provide a  100 block luck graph and  a 500 block luck graph or maybe just 250.  That would show that we are maybe headed for an extended period of slower blocks.. Anyway. I know past performance doesnt dictate future but when looking at a graph of most pools that show the luck it looks like a heart beat of sorts.. Steady up and down  with some minor hiccups along the way.. Just my observance over last year watching pools.  Here is a great showing of that from my eth farm.  This is a snap shot of each of my mining rigs.. they all run at the same difficulty and you can see that all look this way.. Up and down across the 100% line.  or the expected line.

Now that same thing happens with pool luck. Right now we sit on about 70 blocks more than expected if im correct on my math. I expect myself a small downturn in luck but that is to be expected.  I tried my damnedest to get slush to come with some info on the bad luck.. I cant figure out why he protected genesis unless there was a backroom deal made.  Not to many honest people left in crypto sadly.. Thats why im mining here .  Not looking for roi just a place to point my machines.  My plan is to not sell one coin until the next halving.. just let em ride.

Best Regards

reality is what you think it is
I already track *Hash and MRR, I also want to track them ... especially since they have already in the past withheld blocks and got away with it scott free.
OOps...  Kano, is there really some evidence that NH has ever withheld blocks as well? I fool around once a week with some rentals at solo.ckpool as a lottery, so is it really that pointless to rent there anything? I'm asking because I have much more positive feedback for NH & MRR than negative. Confusing...  Huh

Has anyone ever used genesis mining?
Could you PM me your account and when you did?
I want to be able to track (and probably block) their access to the pool, since they are the ones who caused the withholding on slush.
(no it won't affect your payouts)

Do you think we may have interlopers on the pool now with mischief on their mind? Or just exploring possibilities?

That's great that you're trying to cover all possibilities. If it's anything other than bad luck, that would suck even worse. I'd want to get my hands around someone's neck.

Personally, I haven't used NH/WH in a long while. I do use MRR in small doses to:
a) increase my hash power
b) cover my hash when I have to shut down my miners almost daily because of afternoon summer thunderstorms. According to the weather radar, I'll have to shut down around 3:00 this afternoon. Sad

My workers from MRR are noted as such. Ex: whirledps.MRR, etc.

Thanks for the keen vigilance!

Hoping for a couple of green blocks today! Smiley

They may have been the ones who pointed at BTCGuild after Slush caught them. It took a little while but they got caught there too.

Wow if this turns out to be the same dead block period Slush had some months ago and it turns out to be Genesis....
Did Slush operator tell you it was Genesis ? or is it just a hint ?

Slush told no one.
I found out from ... "someone else" ... Smiley

Slush let them get off scott free and all the miners at Slush lost between 10% and 20% for a month, that was being paid to Genesis for that month.

Basically Genesis should have returned all the mining rewards they got (probably more than 500 BTC) to the pool and Slush should have given it to all the other miners at his pool.

Genesis was testing their mining platform on a live pool - the platform didn't work - it withheld all blocks.

I seriously cannot understand how Slush and Genesis came to an agreement that all the miners at Slush should pay for Genesis' failed testing of their mining platform.

Well, the last 3 blocks might not have been green, but at least they weren't red!  Smiley

I just noticed we have a heck of a lot of horsepower on the pool right now. Over 50PH. I hope they are all "good guys"!   Wink

Let's find some blocks today!!!!

Mods: If this should be moved to the HW thread I apologize but I wanted to see responses from a small sample of my mining brothers and sisters here.

I do not normally recommend updating firmware and am not recommending anyone do so at this time. There could be all sorts of problems such as bricking the miner.

My experience with my recent avalon 6 update has been positive.

I took some screenshots of the miner GUI and poolside user shift performance for that miner. Not a great enough time has passed to say this is / was a good move.
Initially it appears I have made good gains in hashrate.
I only applied the MM update for troubleshooting.

My incoming voltage is over 12. Using the awesome adjustable 4k setup with the s9.
The hmi used to show 12, - 12.2 but that changed after an RPI update and I have not applied the most recent RPI update.
The hmi now shows between 11.8 and 12.1

I will post numbers when I confirm a consistent increase over additional time.

Block! *You beat me to this one!*  Cheesy

LOL. I had just posted about a sacrifice and hit post, then I saw a block was found a few seconds earlier. I then came back and edited my post.
