KDB Restart
at approx 03:25 UTC (when the charlotte shift summarises) in about 1.5 hrs

No mining will be affected

Minor update to add an Approximate 5Nd light green area on the Shift Graph from the right so people can see approximately where they are up to when starting mining or changing their hash rate.

so when the hashrate is completely over the green area means that you are in the 5ND?
Yep.
i.e. if your blue line has hash rate above zero, all the way from the right to the end of the green + green/red overlap on the left.
It says 'Approximate' coz it is based on the completed shifts - the shift/pool graph pages only show completed shifts.
The next shift will bring the end of the 5Nd a little more to the right of the green areas left time point, so if you have hash rate in the whole 5Nd it shows already, then you'll have hash rate in the whole 5Nd of the next block.

The graphing code I wrote doesn't require a restart of KDB to change it, since it now has the data point for the 5Nd (as a time point on the graph)
So I may change it a little more later - e.g. make the red line a 5Nd average instead of the current whole page average.

Note that when the two areas overlap (which is most of the time) the overlap shows the green under the red as a different colour.
Red is partially transparent so you can see them both.
Thanks! It's a great idea, it will certainly help to new users still learning about the 5Nd!

As for the graphical representation, I think it would have been a bit more intuitive if it was just a green line above the graph. The way it is done now, the overlapping green and red create just another color, so a non-experienced user will see it as three different zones (even four zones if you take the white area). I guess this may cause more questions and confusion...

Where I can get that Ph/second miners. I have only 1Th/s ASIC bitcoin hashing speed.

There are no Ph/second miners.  Most run S9s (13-14 TH/s) and 841s (~13.6 TH/s).  We get to 2PH/sec by running a lot of them.

Just came up my mind, there's a lot of years when I begin on mining (Mostly ASIC). There's need example many Canaan "moose" on 2 Ph/s.
Talkin even about Avalon or AntMiner S9

Moose is just a pre-packaged collection of 841s

A hint for kano miners: Selling 11.85 th/s S9, works great.
Will include two $250 coupons. See post in marketplace.

Don't want my S9-I can sell you just coupons for $62.5 ea (75% off).
For those who think that coupons ought to be free...I got those for grossly overpaying for some other Bitmain item, hence need at least some back.

ok i'll byte (snicker), where do i find The Marketplace?

Sweet got us another Turkey.

Maybe I should go back to sleep, wake up to a couple more.

Edit:

It would mean that if there was a space availability issue in the block work, it would be weighted the same as normal transactions when vying for the available space.

Edit: I'll have to do so more changes to deal with transactions shortly anyway.
Core took out something that only pools would use ... gee I wonder why they would do that? Tongue
Something that I've used when blocks were full - to force our payout transaction into the pool work: priority.
So I'l have to do more changes to the transaction selection code anyway and I'll remove the 4x then if possible also.

Well thanks for looking at ways to keep those blocks full of as many fees as possible.

And doubly glad you are watching those changes in the code. Helps keep people in the loop, wish more people knew about these things and kept it out in the open.
