Here you see my payouts of some last found blocks on kano.is . I am mining more than a year now on kano.is with 1.5 to 1.67 TH/s for the last 9 months (before that is varied from 1.5 to 5TH/s). Kano is the most stable and best performing pool there is, at least that is my experience.

With normal luck 1 TH would mine 0.00484121 BTC per day so base your rentals off of this number for this difficulty adjustment.  Rentals less than this (<.0048 BTC/TH) with good luck will make a profit, and anything more than that per TH and bad luck will be a negative return.

Your .0043 number did you take the next difficulty in already.  As my calcs are around .0047 at 100% and fees and currently on niceh can easily rent for .0046

Hi,

Can you please let me know how did you calculated rental rate to achieve profitability. What is the formula?

Thank you. I appreciate it.

Irregardless of whether renting hashrate is profitable or not, is there at least a decent place to rent from that is trusted and easy to use?

Nicehash works well and only pay for pool confirmed shares.

Quick question on rig renting.

Newbie here, so please be gentle Smiley Can rig renting be profitable with CKPOOL?

What I am asking is, what per TH/s price at the current difficulty could be profitable. Some sites are offering rig renting at 0.0048 BTC/TH/Day or even lower. Will this work on the long term (10 days, 30 days, 3 mts)?

Let's say I rent 5TH/s at 0.025 per day? What could a potential profit per day be from that if I let's say rent it for 30 days. I do understand that difficulty can change, which can skew the profits.

Can rig rental profit at all at the long term? I appreciate your answers.

ZemCoin.

Not long term.  The math is against that.

At current payouts you need to rent at .0043 for odds to be in your favor.

I am starting to think I'm jinxed.... Every time I do a quick rent bump... We seem to get 2 200% blocks in a row.   Then it definitely isn't profitable.  Can work the other way too of course.   Like in all this.... Lucky lady smiles or slaps your face.

on another note.. Those of you with Bitmain equip ive found this tool.. Im not sure how long this has been available in there support section. but if you like to tweak your machine settings this would be the way to go..

https://www.bitmaintech.com/support.htm?pid=007201512210613294744rqn82k7068A

really nice tool.  It may not have all the frequencies you prefer for your miner but for a quick way to downclock or over clock this is best ive seen.. Ive yet to test it whether or not you can actually adjust the voltage..  i know on s4 they fixed the volts to .725 with a firmware update.  Check it out will make your life much easier if you have a decent amount of ants.

yes it took 19 seconds to get from f2pool/btcchina to the usa pool.. Not good if you ask me.. Hasnt been a problem with us yet. BUt if it continues to grow the huge PH/s farms will have a heck of an advantage over us smaller pools who cant rail back to back blocks.

edit :  heres my source Smiley  http://poolbench.antminer.link/

edit im happy btcchina put out 100 nodes. But if they put them in a crappy internet location Undecided. How will this help the network..http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/bitcoin-giant-btcc-donates-100-full-nodes-help-maintain-network-1534926

3rd edit lol.. I also noticed on my personal pool wallet that out of the 40 connections i allow it to have.. the other day i noticed almost 20 of them said btcc 11.2 for the core version.. now i see im connected to a bunch of 11.2 nodes but they no longer say btcc 11.2  just satoshi 11.2... but i have a feeling its all those btcc nodes..

Kano,

Have you noticed how long the avg time for blocks to propagate the network has gotten.. why is it taking so long for the the china pools to release the blocks??

OneInchWonder,
you are comparing uncompairable numbers especially in different Network Difficulty periods and your test result  is nothing, sorry about this. It might be good idea to learn some math before doing this and difference between payout schemas at Slush and Kano.is pools. Also I tell nothing about current Slush probs

But your conclusion is correct - Kano's pool is much better Smiley

Ok well do not want it get into the math with the reward systems and difficulty of pools, someone else can have that headache. I know they are different reward system.
I just know not per block but Per day im doing better here.

Now Kano starts low but keeps going up and beyond per block the other pool.

Firstly, no pool gets all their block under 100% Tongue

We do have a pretty amazing record in that area, 17 in a row under 100%, but no that's not expected to happen often.
You can see it on the blocks page from block 7 to block 23.
Average diff was ... wait for it ... 29.93%
(i.e. reward was ~300% PPS for those 17 blocks)

... and the chance of doing that or better (on ANY pool) is:
http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=CDF%5BErlangDistribution%5B17%2C+17%5D%2C++0.2993%5D
or: 0.0000246421 = 0.00246421% of the time or about 1 in 40,581

In bitcoin terms that's about once in 13 years if you mined every block Smiley

I guess I'll post the pool block expectancy numbers again Smiley
Code:
 0.63212055882856  100.000%  1 in 2.7
 0.77686983985157  150.000%  1 in 4.5
 0.86466471676339  200.000%  1 in 7.4
 0.95021293163214  300.000%  1 in 20.1
 0.98168436111127  400.000%  1 in 54.6
 0.99326205300091  500.000%  1 in 148.4
 0.99752124782333  600.000%  1 in 403.4
 0.99872735771441  666.666%  1 in 785.8
 0.99908811803445  700.000%  1 in 1096.6
 0.99966453737210  800.000%  1 in 2981.0
 0.99987659019591  900.000%  1 in 8103.1
So that says you expect 1 in 2.7 blocks to be above 100% on every pool
and 1 in 4.5 blocks to be above 150% on every pool
and ... etc

An interesting thing about that 100% number for those interested in the math Smiley
It's 'e' (2.718281828...) since the equation ends up 1/(1 - (1 - (e^-1))) = e
